Some beautiful decks, some I've not seen before but agree with the #1, so nice with the holographic and neons, suspect a lot of people would start collecting when seeing them. Thanks for sharing
Very nice selection of card decks. I think sticking with majority of style of decks presented would have gone with something other than surf. Say maybe Chronos Players Edition. But still awesome list of decks. Really enjoy your reviews.
Next year if you do this same top 12 theme, do a list of three or five honorable mentions. Not in any order but just honorable mention. Maybe just a 10 second reveal of the honorable mentions. Soooo.... I'd love to see you list an honorable 3-5 for 2019.
I’ll get you a better answer, but off the top of my head I recall the two most painful to leave off the list were Provision by Theory11 and Order Electus by Thirdway Industries. I was also really partial to Testament by Ben Green.
Very nice, man. You do a great job describing the decks and you obviously do your homework and include back stories when applicable. I mean there are a lot of deck review channels out there, but I'm glad I ran across yours. Keep it up!
@@TheCardGuyReviews the Faunae are beautiful, Parlor-black is awesome- killer ace of spades, Kings Wild is very creative, Fillide is beautiful- love the courts, Nutcracker is awesome & festive, that Monolith is just nuts. Most are available & not terribly pricy, guess i better get on it
I definitely could have moved Invictus up quite a bit and felt good about it. Agree it’s a great one! (As an aside....these lists are so hard to rank. It’s like picking your favorite kid!!)
Great review! I’ve only seen a couple of these decks before but they all look beautiful! But I believe most of these cards are for card collectors. Do you do any card magic or do you only do card reviews?
I do a little. Of these, Parlour is an outstanding deck for magic. I’d also recommend Hydrogen from Elemental Playing Cards. But yeah, most of my faves are collector decks.
I think there should be a certain amount of functionality to playing cards since the ultimate goal of them is to actually play with them. I know the gold ink on the front and back of the cards is going to limit its playability and certainly will diminish it’s handling. If I owned the number one deck and some of those others I wouldn’t even use them to play with and I just don’t see the point of having cards that are going to sit around in a box
I didn’t say too much about it...but one of the things I love about the Cartamundi decks in particular is that they manage GREAT handling decks even with the foiling actually. That said, I see your point. I definitely favor the collector and art decks myself. The great thing about this hobby is that there are so many different ways you can go with a collection...from hype to Cardistry to magic to gameplay to pure art decks. And there’s so many out there no matter which way you go!
You must be new here... just joking... I definitely started out feeling the same way but ended up extending a branch off into decks that are really cool , but are not REAL decks.
I’m honestly not huge into Lotrek decks in my collection. I have a few but I have enough designers hogging my wallet as it is. I could see myself getting hooked at some point though...

It's such a crazy deck!

Yeah definitely that was the odd one out of the lot. That said, I really liked it a lot! Really fun deck.
Excellent choices, and an excellent look at some of the best decks of the year. Well done!

You definitely got #1 right. I agree, it's hard to narrow it down. Great job 👍. Can't wait for what 2020 has in store.
#1 was probably the only easy spot in the whole list. Leaving Order off hurt me. :)
@@TheCardGuyReviews Honorable Mention. 😁

Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're enjoying!
Great taste in decks sir, all i can say is WOW! I need some of those in my collection👍
Thanks! Which ones jumped out at you the most?

Yeah Black Monolith is the one that’s a little pricey of the bunch. But the rest are not too crazy!
Great list!
I’ve got to go with Invictus @7:28. Just loved the design of the face cards in that deck.
Great vid. Subbed 👍🏻

The Card Guy yeah that’s it. The Parlours are the only ones I’ve heard of.

Update your resume now! “Card Guy Deck of the Year Award!”
Just re watched this video and realized you didn’t have any Lotrek decks?? That is unreal lol
I’m honestly not huge into Lotrek decks in my collection. I have a few but I have enough designers hogging my wallet as it is. I could see myself getting hooked at some point though...
The Card Guy fair enough ;) still love your videos haha
Steven Cantrell,, the dude from the Office! Cool....
Did I say Steven?? lol. I DO watch a lot of The Office.
