To be captain of the Victorian state team & the Western Australian state team in your footy career is an absolute rarity. Kevin Murray is truly a legend of Australian Rules football, no question about it.

As an East Perth supporter I am a life time fan of Kevin Murray. Not only a brilliant footballer but an amazing person.
I have been a Fitzroy / Brisbane supporter ever since Kevin came to East Perth.
He was hard at the ball but completely fair. The only time I saw him angry was against Perth in the 1966 Grand Final when the traitor Mal Atwell knocked out Mark ODonahue. Not many people stood up to Atwell but Kevin did. His boxing in younger years no doubt helped.
He was great to watch bringing the ball off half back. He would get over the ball and knock it in front of him and rarely was dispossessed.
I doubt if there has been a more popular Brownlow winner or a more deserving one.
    Thanks for everything Kevin.
