    MY PROFILE:
I started fishing when I was just a young kid and instantly fell in love with Bass Fishing. Started fishing tournaments when I was in high school and have been fishing them ever since. For years I fished every tournament I could enter sometimes fishing as many as 45 tournaments a year. I qualified for the Elites when I was 30 but didn't have the sponsors or money to compete so I turned it down. Got sponsor support later and fished the FLW Tour for 2 years and having been fishing the Toyotas since 2006. I’ve won 5 Angler of the Year Titles becoming the only fishermen to have more than 3 AOYs in the Toyota series. Won numerous events along the way that has helped shape my way into working for Strike King as head of product innovation. Along the way, I picked up a camera and started filming my endeavors. I have now fallen in love with making videos about fishing and delivering it to you. Follow along the journey...it should be an honest and fun ride!

Hey Todd, just a suggestion, make your shelf folding, use it for loading tackle in boxes/bags going in the boat, general work. Then when you need access to top rows of peg boards, fold it down ....

You still made the sensible decision to me. Even if I had “that kind of money”. You don’t keep money by spending it needlessly. And it doesn’t look bad as it is. If it were me, I would do the underneath part with little box shelving/storage shelving that just sits on the floor and can slide right under the peg board and up against the wall. Either with the individual boxes for different stuff or just open flat shelves to put stuff like your extra loose tackle storage boxes on top.

I've fished for 45... but I've only been bass fishing regularly for 15. I only fish small club tournaments and every once in awhile I'll fish a big marina tourney... so, not even close to semi-professional and I have 16 foot of pegboard. It is pretty much jammed pack. As much as you've got, you can do that whole building and still not have enough pegboard. 😂.
Looks great Todd. Love the videos, they help us dreamers to stay informed!!

Todd that sounds like a great plan. It’s just for hanging baits. Love that line

If it is financially possible put something below your pegboard with drawers, cabinets.

Definitely get an industrial ceiling fan installed if you haven’t already; help to dry wet boat.

sorry meant to add: I'm doing a peg board system just like what you're doing, I'm with you; I'm not frugal I'm CHEAP

You will have a great set up when completed. No man cave for me. My BassCat is in my garage (beside my '65 Chevy Impala SS), so no room for tackle. My tackle is downstairs in my home office in bins like yours, so I always have to look to see if I have anything.

Try pegboard on a frame on wheels for your most used baits so you can move it closer to your boat when you're preparing for tournaments and seasonal change. Do you have a ceiling fan to go above your boat to dry it out when it is wet?

I knew that you were going pegboard. The pegs for the slat board would be quite costly.

I recommend closet made adjustable shelves. It’s great stuff . But it has to go into something solid! I don’t know how your building is constructed. I would send you a pic of pegboard/ and Closetmaid . Don’t know how to get it to you .

Todd, I think it was, Mike Iaconelli has a pretty cool rod storage setup. I wanna say I saw it on the Bassmaster site a few years ago in their tours of how elite pros setup their shop. It's worth looking into, to me it seemed to be the best means of storing a ton of rods in the most efficient way. To me efficiency, in every aspect of every little thing, seems to be the most important piece. Edit: Are any of your old Bubba rods gonna be for sale?

When it’s covered with baits it ain’t gonna matter what board is behind it. Just get it done so some of us tackle junkies can drool for a bit.

Whatever you do don’t put any drawers in the cave/shop! Anything with doors on it will be where tools, baits, dreams and some hope go to die😂🎣

Todd, love the stuff you put out. I have a question about your garage; I'm building a 24x40 pole barn garage, and I don't know which insulation to go with. Are you satisfied with the insulation you have? and if so, can you please let me know the brand, Rvalue, and the item number if you have it. Thanks in advance, just keep up with the truth no matter what, Thomas

Man take 2x4 rip them down the middle and just have your father in law build plywood shelves put everything in the cheap bins from Lowe’s or Home Depot and label the ends that’s what I did and it’s mega cheap

Don't run your peg board into the corner from both sides you'll end up with a dead space. Shelves in the corner

Slatboards are overrated imo. That white pegboard looks great, it’s easy, and hooks are cheap.
