It’s kinda wild that only now, after the release of Crownslayer (an actual awful kit), people are looking at Vigil with a neutral/positive light. Is he worth the resources for someone who doesn’t care about him? No, he’s a 6* so he’s expensive… but I think his kit is definitely flexible enough to be worth consideration. He’s a great early-map laneholder, his dp regen for an auto-type skill isn’t too bad, said auto skill is his best survivability skill anyway so it’s doubly convenient, and his wolves can surprising do a lot of damage. Like most Vanguards that aren’t solely combat-oriented, he isn’t going to kill any bosses by himself but I honestly don’t think Vanguard *has* any dedicated ‘boss killer’ units other than maybe Ines?
I'm actually very excited to use crownslayer, she's "bad" if you want damage forever but she has so many gimmicks and unique traits I want to play around with. over time I've just stopped believing in "bad" units altogether, people called ebenholz and dorothy and gnosis bad and they're god tier meta units among people who actually know how to play the game, people call verdant trash and he's unironically indispensable to snakeknights and keeps surprising me with just how hard he is to kill. vigil is featured in like 700 clears on arkrec and is the third most used unit in vanguard only right below ines and muelsyse according to their stats, he pulls so much weight I'm convinced people are only continuing to call him bad out of habit
Most people just look at his s3 when its not even best kit for him, his s1 is just the best for him for both dp gen and tanking niche. Just like how people look at marchille s3 and done with it. When her s2 is unique enough and pretty at her job (most if not all ranged damage that can stun are mostly rng based while marchille can guarantee it while also with unlimited duration on top of that, and splash art radius is just rivaled to reedic s3 which havw bad cycle) And raising cist is mostly for new player problem since can build anyone that player want if they already have the basic need done
I initially built vigil for the memes (and because he's cute) and I've gone from thinking "huh he's not as bad as people said" to unironically using him on my ace squad and taking him as a priority recruit in high ascension IS. People really need to actually give him a try and stop listening to other people (who haven't built him) just parrot tha he's bad because that's the meme.

Sorry to take attention away from vigil, but it seems like kroos alter is really broken against dolly? Just need a bit of support and she really solos dolly in every stage. I haven't see any exusiai both on the original run and this rerun tbh while I easily find clears with kroos alter
exusia would be just as good if not better against dolly specifically but kroos' stuns being able to ground flying sheep makes a huge difference, they're pretty bulky and much easier to deal with if you can block them or make them walk into a hole.
