    I saw the 10 steps in the email and thought it would be simple. Lots of detail in each step! Another facinating and stunning tutorial. Yours are more advanced than most on YT so thank you. I learn so much every time. I love that I can flag the email to have the written steps and link to the video marked so I can go back again and again until I can get it right. Adding it to my learn list. As always that finger pig made me smile. Thank you so much.

      I agree. The tutorials are more advanced. Tired of simplistic demos that assume we’re too stupid to get it with practice.

    You’re back!! One thing I struggle with, in any illustrative capacity, is getting smooth lines (with streamline set high) that are even in width on their extremas. In Illustrator it’s easy. But when you’re free-handing in Procreate, well…
    Edit: I meant to clarify, my issues are drawing typography. I can’t get the widths (thicks/thins) consistent.

    • @shoutbam
      @shoutbam  3 роки тому

      All I can say is that practice is key! My consistency got better when i was doing calligraphy on actual paper, transitioning after to Procreate was easier! You can send us examples of your work and we will let you know how to improve it! @shoutbam on instagram! 😃

    im using procreate for a little more than a year. Went through I would say a "lot" of various online courses and/or free lettering/procreate videos, I thought I pretty much understand whats going on (which tool does what, what can do with it etc.) with still much room to improve (obviously - without history in graphic design etc, and starting from knowing nothing at all a year ago) BUT your working style is just so complex it blows my mind:) you are not only much faster in explaining (men in this field sometimes are, but not like you - not sure why :D you just cut to the chase, no unnecessary "blablabla" idiotproof talking to explain every nitty gritty detail) but you also approach some procreate funcionalities in a way I never thought possible before (or until now I have not seen anyone else do it your way or explain it your way), your videos (i FEEL like stalker now - seen them all on also different platforms) I have to watch like several times (or on really low speed) for my brain not to overheat or crack completely :D because of the density of infomation and techniques used and too many "ahaaaaaa" or "woooooooow" moments :D like one video from you is worth like 6 months of various online courses of procreate functions and overall techniques! Thank you so much!! (daaamn this is my longest YT comment ever - so sorry, but I had to len it out of my system :D)

    Love watching your videos. In the video I noticed that you organize your brushes within a set via headings. How do you do this?

    • @shoutbam
      @shoutbam  3 роки тому +2

      Create a square canvas, type anything on the center, copy the canvas content and then create a new brush and paste your canvas as a shape! It’s really easy actually! :D

  • @lumo7999
    @lumo7999 3 роки тому +1

    And to answer you question - what do I struggle with in Procreate? I will give you an example from the video. In the step where you are releasing the clipping masks (yes, the very beggining of your work, like literally few minutes into it) it gets messy and you all fix it with like "klick klick klick boom!" well thats just very fast. I understand why we select the original G (in that point im like - yeeah great I got this) and then next micro second I completely dont understand whats going on and why we "tap on invert" part, what does it do exactly in this case, and why not skip to "cut" from the original G shape and just put it on new layer? is it because you are connecting these two steps?or..... like - maybe a word or two describing not just "what" you do, but "why" you do it, and what does it do with the concrete "shape" you have on that particular layer. This would be very very helpful. your knowledge and talent is mindblowing, but some of us "peasants" are just too slow and dumb /me - retarded dumb/ to keep up your pace :D you condensed like 3 hours of work into mindblowing 16minutes..And if someone just wants to watch you work - its amazing. But if someone really wants to "understand" properly its something else. if I compare it to alcohol, you took "orahovica" and condensed it into pure 70% ethanol - that can kill people :D

    • @shoutbam
      @shoutbam  3 роки тому

      Hey Lu! Thanks for the Feedback! Totally get were are you getting lost at and we’re sorry we went so fast! So, when releasing the clipping masks, there’s gonna be a mess. In order to correct that, we tap on the G and tap on “select” now we could select the new layers and scroll three fingers down and tap on “cut and paste” this would make a new layer by leaving the old layer with some leftovers that we would later erase. The reason I tap on “invert” is to select what doesn’t belong to the G shape and then select the new layers and cut it. Hope this helps! And btw, loving the reference you do on the orahovica and ethanol, We certainly almost die with certain alcoholic drinks in Croatia 😂

    • @lumo7999
      @lumo7999 3 роки тому

      @@shoutbam well im from Slovakia, we have a nice habbit of drinking here so to make a comparison to alcohol is just very natural:))))happy you liked it :) I hope my comment did not sound rude or so, I didnt mean to, I just wanted to put into words how easy it is to get confused. Anyways, im beyond thankful to you to reply on my comment. Everytime you let something amazing out there Im so happy to watch :) and learn, of course!! Im a meantime I did my homework and tried to get it all into my brain :D THOSE clipping masks are just a HUGE topic and its unbelievable what they can do if you know how. when you are not "lost" in the layering as such. Thank you again!
