do you know where to find replacement id chips for the xps 9570, after a spark from the old charger, a new oem charger will not recognize and im tempted to start bodging left and right if i cant find a chip.
Till when can I use this after disabling the warning????
@@nadeekadamayanthi1670 You can use your laptop indefinitely, as long as the fact that the battery won't charge doesn't bother you.
You are a lifesaver! I have my graduation exam in three days on my laptop. Simply pushing in the charger worked, but I'll buy a new charger to be on the safer side.
I'm glad I could help you!
i have the same problem
Can you tell me where did you bought one
Thank u sir..i was thinking to buying a new laptop but this video saved my money. I had been facing this problem since last six months . It was difficult for me to do my work on desktop as it was not comfortable for me sitting on chair for 5 to 6 hours for my online work . All service center everything is closed due to this pandemic and i cannot get it fixed but thanks to this person . Man u saved my time work money..
Thank u man.
Its hard to describe in words
Wish i could meet u in real.
Thank you for the comment! I'm so glad that my video helped you to solve this problem.
did your laptop was not charging also? mine has the same problem. i don't know whether it will start to charge or not if i do this
Thanks a lot it helped ❤
For anyone who might benifit :-
Issue :- my issue was that my laptop was turning on, but not charging. Even the charging light just blinked and went off. I got the same error of wattage nor determined.
Solution :- the solution 2 worked for me, when he said that inner pin should be connected, and i immeditely noticed mine was bent on one side. Using end of a fork i carefully pushed it back up and it was now charging.
Tip:- before trying solution 1 (pushing cable inside) make sure your inner pin isnt bent. Or else chances are you might break it as i almost did.
Great job! I'm happy to help.
Thanks for the solution. One tip from my side : Try cleaning the charger contact point on the adapter as well as the laptop with a needle or safety pin . You might not need to buy a new adapter . This hack worked for me .
Bro help me how can i solve this issue
@@zulekhabeg1448 just use a safety pin or needle and rotate it inside the charging point
You just saved my life, mi computer was so slow and I just did this and it worked, I don’t have the power warning, thank youuuu
DUDE! Thanks so much your tip really worked
This only disables the warning from showing up. The laptop will still throttle the cpu down to 800 Mhz or so.
Sure! in most cases you just need to replace your power adapter but the problem can also be in your DC jack or the motherboard.
@@ElectronicsComputershow much it weill cost to fix motherboard issuw
@shatabdidas9879 depends a lot on the specific model, and who fixes it.
I'm not familiar with the specifics of dell laptops, but it's incredibly cheap to fix it yourself if it's a problem with the port and it's a loose piece. $5-15 in tools and parts probably, when you have the casing open you unplug the old port and plug in the new one and you're done.
if it's a port that is soldered onto the motherboard or a bad electronics component like a chip, fuse, or resistor, it'll cost a bit more.
small independent repair companies are likely to solder on a new part, which is cheap in part costs but requires a bit more skill. I'd expect $25-$100 in labor, $1-$5 part.
larger repair companies would just replace the entire motherboard, which can easily cost half the new value of the laptop. $50-100 in labor, $100+ in parts.
i cant do anything now without the warning and i cant continue the fix
YOU SAVED MY LIFE MY MOM WAS GOING TO KILL ME
I'm glad I could help you!
🤣🤣🤣
yessss, my mom would kill me too lol
Mine too oh my god
😂😂
My adapters are Dell OEM units and they work fine on other Dell laptops. The 2 bad laptops are E7250 and E7450. Found an old PRO3X E-dock which bypasses the AC jacks on the laptops and they both charge and run faster. BIOS also indicates correct wattage. The E-dock works with all Dell series E laptops from E6400 up to E7470. NOTE: The dock requires a 90W adapter to operate.
My PC adjusted performance to halfway or less with the CPU after this warning. Cand get it back to full preforming? Help. And thanks for the video
Thank you sir! Saved me so much time! All I had to do was simply push the charger in more.
Glad it helped
Same dude when I relied it was my own careless mistake I got embarrassed!!
the warning won't bug you but it's still not gonna charge.... -___-
how to charge it again without buying a new charger?
A new charger is the only option if the problem is really in charger. It could be also a faulty DC jack or motherboard too. So before ordering a new charger make sure that the problem is not in your laptop.
How can you tell that it's not a laptop issue?
@ℙ𝕠𝕥𝕒𝕥𝕠 𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕡𝕤 I've already got it replaced. When I first put in the new one it was at 40% and working perfectly fine. But the AC Adapter cant be recognised so it didnt charge. And now its at a constant 0% on charge. Works slightly slower and the problem still there but yh.. still works
Sounds like the same problem as mine. If you push on the power socket itself, does it move inside the case? I think mine has detached from the motherboard. You can buy new sockets on eBay, which is what I plan to do if it's not just come unclipped.
Thank you. I started panicking and about to go to laptop repair shop but thankfully I managed to get my laptop back on. Thanks
Glad I could help
Loved the video. I have now tried 5 different AC adapters, and all are recognized as "unknown" by the BIOS. This leads me to believe that it might be the chargeport. Do you have any suggestions for me? The model is E7440.
The problem may be in the DC jack or even in the motherboard.
Mine is E7470 and having the same problem
Thanks for the video. The guy at the service center told me I have to replace my battery however after watching your video it was very clear to me that the problem is not with the battery but with the adapter. After switching to another adapter it worked fine... It saved me money from buying a battery.
I'm happy to help 😊. The battery has nothing to do with that problem. It clearly says on the screen that laptop cannot recognize the power supply. The problem in most cases in the adapter itself and sometimes in broken DC jack.
Hi, i have the same problem. I've changed my laptop's adaptor, but there is no change in notification. What should i do
@@ElectronicsComputers what if even after changing the adapter it still gives me the same error?
@@ElectronicsComputersmy DC Jack was broken I got it changed still it is showing the error
I get this warning because my battery is dead (not because of my adapter). Despite the dead battery, my system was running fine and not displaying this message until I upgraded the BIOS yesterday. Now I get that message and the system is SLOW.
Do you know how to prevent the system from adjusting the power settings due to this warning? Will disabling the warning stop the system from making those adjustments?
Again, I know that my battery is dead, but I don’t want the system to adjust for that since it used to run perfectly fine on the AC adapter until last night when I upgraded BIOS, and now it wants to adjust my power settings every time I boot up.
**EDIT ** - It appears as if disabling the warning message as outlined in this video DID PREVENT the system from adjusting the power settings. By disabling the message and restarting, the computer seems to be working fast again. Thank you so much for this video and for helping.
I'm glad I could help you!
@@ElectronicsComputers you didn't answer his question man ..
Is your laptop charging or not?
What did you do when you got two choices yes or no
my dell laptop has a battery problem it shutdowns in 70-80% , then i have to turn it on again. and the battery totally lasts half hour, my laptop supports 45 watt charger but in between it was broken so i put a 65 watt charger , so i wanted to ask should i replace my charger or battery ?
edit - my 45 watt charger is broken from above , the place where you mentioned to buy a wire of 5 bucks
If the indicator on your laptop shows that the battery charging then the problem is in the battery not charger.
Thank you! Incredible video! Turns out the pin was bent in my power adapter and we’re back in business. Thanks again!

Had another lap top too, which was not charging and fixed that too after I found it’s connector pin too, bent ,

I used the F12 key and used the boot option and did that and now it is working and can there be any chance of the white light not showing after we plug the charger in please answer this question thank you
What's the model of your laptop?
Never buy a Dell laptop.
Dell laptops are the best on the market at the moment.
Agreed, I have had constant issues with my Dell laptop, first the hsrdrive crashed, then the charger broke, I got a replacement charger then my battery broke, I asked for a new battery and they just gave me a new computer and the replacement charger seems to not be working

OMG thank you sir. I have new dell laptop and this warning was showing. Luckily in my case adapter is not defective. Actually I am not pushing the pin fully inside laptop, lol. Your instructions worked. That warning never showed again.
Glad it helped
This doesn't really do anything other than turn off the warning that there is an issue with the AC adapter. If the laptop doesnt recognise the AC adapter, it still won't charge, you just won't see the error message. I have the XPS 9560 and the AC adapter recognition has been a pain in the a** the entire time I've owned it.
Thank you for this video. I've been troubleshooting for hours now, but this has helped me find the problem!
Glad it helped!
Does prolonged usage of the broken one cause any damage to the CPU or other systems?
Absolutely not. Your laptop just works in the energy saving mode.
I just wiggled the cable a little bit and it working now. Thanks!

Wait will disabling the warning cause your computer to be faster and stop lagging?
Depends on the model but in most cases it will work in an energy saving mode.
Literally all I had to do was unplug and replug the charger! thanks my guy

@@Dr_ShreY my laptop has battery indicator so it lights up when charging. Aside from the jack, some problems also happen with the software. When it happens I just do what the internet told me to and disable first and then re enable the battery driver.
I have a Dell 65W AC Adapter 3 core and I have try to check the voltage. When I try to measure the voltage for ID Sensor pin on plug cable I read the 0.05V so I open the AC Adapter and I tried to read the ID Sensor voltage on the PCB. Here I read 0.06V. great that fixed my adapter, i was confused by the allert in bios "ac adapter not installed" and did coldstart (removing battery) and windows recovery lots of hour without success ...., but it was just the center needle , which was out of center. Now it works and battery is loaded !!!
I'm happy to help!
i am happy to , the point was/is that you explained exactly how the plug works, with result in bios allert. The whole Dell support, did not, and caused a lot of wasted hours.@@ElectronicsComputers
I’ve just replaced the adapter and the problem is the same. Does it mean that the problem is caused by DC jack? I was able to make it work and charge a few times but I moved the cable and not charging again.
In that case 99% the problem in the DC jack. It's very easy to replace it and it costs just a few bucks delivered.
Thanks a lot! I just had to push the charger a little bit and now it's working and charging the battery. Do you thknk it could just be a cleaning issue?
Yes, it may be dirty, or the central contact in the jack may be worn out or bent.
If i just replace the charger will it work
If the problem was in charger, then yes. If the problem in the DC jack or motherboard then it's not gonna help.
thank you so much the power cord was just not in all the way

If i disable the warning will my performance still be halved?
Depends on the model of your laptop but in most cases it will work with limited performance.
@@ElectronicsComputers Ah i see, thx for responding
So if the battery still charges, but I still have this error, what does that mean?
If I put my multi-meter to the pin and to the outside of the barrel what should it read? Just something other than 0?

Well i tried doing it but ny laptop wilk still jot charge. Also the AC adapter type says "unknown". How can i fix this?
In 95% cases the problem in AC adapter. Other 5% could be the DC jack of your laptop or the motherboard itself.
@@ElectronicsComputers is there a way to know for sure which ine of them is the issue? Right now i do t have another charger to test this out. Also this laptop is pretty old one (around 7 or 8 years)
Is adapter warning needed? Or important? Why not leave disabled?
Well, sometimes it can be helpful to receive notifications that your adapter has a problem. But, of course, you can keep it disabled.
When I press f3 it just says “strike the f1 key to continue, f2 to run the setup utility”
try Fn + F2. It actually shows on the screen which keys you should use.
Been researching this issue on my XPS 15. Purchased replacement adapter and dc power jack. Still not recognizing the adapter. Anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot further?
What's the exact model of your XPS 15 laptop?
What happens when the enable adapter warning is blocked
All it does is just turn off that notification and let's your laptop boot normally.
uh where do you actually address the issue? disabling the warning doesn't do anything about the root problem of not recognizing the ac adapter...it just makes the computer stop complaining about it, while still failing to recognize the ac adapter.
I explained why it happens and how to fix it.
@@ElectronicsComputers on the hardware side, yeah, but doesn't really do much when it's a software issue

it will just disable adapter warning notification. There's no way to bypass it you need to replace the cable in most cases or the whole unit.

Perfect! In my case, the port itself has come loose and is moving inside the case sometimes when I plug the charger in. By pulling it out gently, then pushing it in at an angle, then out again, I managed to get the middle pin to connect and prove that's what it is. At some point I'll open it up and fix the port, but for the moment "it moves when it shouldn't, therefore duct tape" has solved the problem. Thank you for explaining the mechanism and giving me the knowledge I needed to figure it out.
I'm glad I could help you!
Thank you for commenting this, this is exactly what happened to mine!
One other thing I noticed, dunno if this will help you, but it appears to be the hinge has seized up on the left side or become misaligned with the right side. This puts pressure on the case when it opens and closes, acting like a lever on the inside and prising the case open over time. That in turn lets the power adapter come loose, and it sinks inside when you plug it in.
So my lazy solution has been to just squeeze the thing when I'm opening it or plugging the AC adapter in. A proper solution would be to fix/replace the hinge and carefully bend any metal housing back into place.
The design solution would be to make the hinges longer so the leverage isn't all in one area at the top. But steel is expensive I guess, so they scrimp on it
Hi, I'm having dell alienware m14x that comes with 150w adapter, but I'm using 60w adapter. My GPU is not detecting in device and Nowhere this may be due to charger watt?
