    Thank you for this! I love Little Tokyo but I've always just stuck with Daikokuya everytime I'm there. I'm excited to try every one in this list.
    Looking forward to more LA food recommendations

      Thanks. Yes, Daikokuya is great too, although I haven't been there in 15 years. Haha.

    I went to Kagaya for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious Top-quality, mouth-watering food! I've been going to shabu shabu for 10+ years and will always be the best comfort food, shoutout Yoshi.

    The entire video I was like, when is he going to say TORIGOYA?!?!? So glad it made your list. I thought I had great Yakitori in NYC but this place beat them all, imo.

    I was going to Daikokuya about 3 times a week! Great spot too! There is a hole in the wall Japanese BBQ spot by the wishing tree I forgot the name but it’s right before the mall!

    Half these places are in Honda Plaza, haha.
    Men-Oh's specialty is, as their name suggests, Tokushima ramen, not spicy tonkotsu ramen. The standard tonkotsu ramen they offer is from Fukuoka, not Tokushima; I've never had the spicy tonkotsu, but I'm guessing it's just a variation on the standard one, like their black garlic ramen. I suspect tonkotsu is on the menu because it's the most popular style in the US these days. Theirs is not quite as good as Tatsunoya, which I think is the best in LA, but it's less expensive, and if you're in a Japanese mood, it's better to be in Little Tokyo than Pasadena or Silver Lake.
    Sushi Gen is good, and their lunch special is a bargain (regular meal, not so much), but I don't know if it's worth the long wait.
    Nice video. Japanese pronunciation needs work (esp. Kagaya, izakaya, udon). Didn't know about Enya - I'll have to try it sometime.

    Did you ever get a chance to eat at Tofu Village before it closed down? That was my favorite all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. I might of closed it down by eating there so much.

    I'm a bit sad that Orochon Ramen didn't make the list. I know it's a little separated from the main shopping center of Little Tokyo, but it's my favorite ramen restaurant.

    • @RockstarEater
      @RockstarEater  3 роки тому +2

      If there was a top 20 list, maybe. I've been to Orochon a number of times, and I honestly think the other ramen restaurants I listed in Little Tokyo are better, quality and tastewise. Then again, try them and let me know what you think.

    Pretty good list!! Some spots I never knew about that I'll definitely check out. Surprised I didn't hear a few well known ramen shop names and that karaage spot from the other video on this list. You planning on making another list of recommendations in Little Tokyo? How about any Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, and Matcha spots by any chance?? ^_^

    • @RockstarEater
      @RockstarEater  4 роки тому

      Those are honorable mentions. I wish I could have included 20 on the list, quite frankly. Chinchikurin, Hama Sushi, and Kabuto are other great places!

    If you really want to know if it's authentic Japanese food, take a peek in the kitchen to see who's cooking. You might be eating Mexican food.

      Bro there is Mexicans cooking your food in every cuisine in LA even Michelin star rated restaurants. As long as theyre following the chefs recipe and it’s authentic it dont matter if a robot is making it as long as it follows the right recipe and procedures.
      I wouldnt say a margarita is not authentic just cause a white or Japanese person is making it .
