I hate to say it, Rollercoaster Tycoon would be equivalent to Call of Duty.. Planet Coaster would be the Battlefield 1 of this game type series. Great job Frontier!!
experienced in both, planet coaster is by far the better coaster sim atm , that being said...the coaster building in rctw is actualy very userfriendly. probably fronties idea when they still did atari jobs, but imho that simplicity is whats coaster planet is missing, building a coaster can get very annoying in PC, and its not definatly not easy to build smooth rides early on, and i refuse to watch hours of tutorials to make everything work the way i want. nvizzio should have told atari to shove it and work way longer on a decent game before launching it, instead of crashing it into the wall and see if it sticks.....
My honest opinion is it's good, but it doesn't look great. I much prefer Planet Coaster due to the amount of detail they put into this game. I highly recommend (I say RCTW because of the much improved graphics on their end) both because they both bring back theme park simulation. It's been my favorite ever since the first RCT came out !
If that is so why is this game have much less controls of terrain, props etc and nerd cubed said and proved the planet coaster models are much more detailed, just compare the merry-go-rounds

I think it's kind of a shame that the gameplay here is sub-par at least in comparison to the previous games in the series considering that the graphics with this game here look pretty impressive unless you zoom out and see the guests look worse with less frames of animation.
It may have seemed like that originally but this specific video to me doesn't seem nearly as bad. The graphics and footpath placement seem pretty excellent and I heard the Rollercoaster builder feature is equally impressive. The artificial intelligence does still seem actually worse than that of previous games which is still a let down to me. All the guests pile in the queue lines without any consideration.

Well that depends: Graphicwise RollerCoaster Tycoon: World looks better. But Gameplaywise RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is miles ahead. Basic Features (like recolouring flat rides or adding your own music to the Rides) are missing in RollerCoaster Tycoon: World but are included in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. Also RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is more polished than its succesor. Far less bugs, far less crashes and even the peeps are more lively in RCT3 than in this one. So if u can see past the fact that the graphics from RCT3 look a little bit dated (but still good today, just not top notch) then yeah - go get RCT3 ASAP. Fun fact: RCT3 was developed by Frontier Developements - the same guys who now pushed out Planet Coaster. I still would like to know how RollerCoaster Tycoon World would have looked like if Atari would have not pushed Pipeworks away.... deathtome You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME on that one. The ONLY THING this game has over RCT3 is the graphics. RCT3 had a phenomenal career mode, tutorial mode, sandbox mode (which is all rctw is), custom scenario mode. Not to mention peep generator, a MUCH wider variety of roller coasters, thrill rides, gentle rides, junior rides, everything to do with decoration, you could make a water park with slides and sell and customize bathing suits, not to mention customizing your pathways and themes. Your coasters can go underground and you could even customize the underground lights. You could build a zoo and customize the viewing galleries, toys, houses. You could deeply customize the staff and customize terrain and add oceans and shows and even karaoke. You could have and customize firework shows and customize the time of day and choose whether its night and day or cycle through days. Everything about that game is truly perfect. BEAUTIFUL graphics for 2004. I could go on forever. RCTW is pathetic compared to 3. Absolutely pathetic.
