Thanks for those thematic speedruns. I feel the need to show them to my students, but they're like 8 years old and can't understand English. But I'll find a way. Also the shortcut lines like the Winawer with an early Ne7 and b6 are clever ideas. Inspirations everywhere.
Generally, FD leads to strangulated positions around f7 black pawn. If I castle into it, white usually heavilly attacks on the king's side. Sometimes one defends it, sometimes not. Usually, black does not have strong attacking possibilities. Mostly a forbearing defense. Generally, my sense is that is more sound than the attempt of stonewall as a black, but the nature is as mentioned above.
I did allow a draw at the takeback request, accepted a rematch, and lost the second rematch game with incredible speed. Ironically, every time I allowed a takeback, either to be nice, or because I believed I was still ahead, I Always Lost. Every single time. It must be psychology on my part, but I never accept takebacks in any game for any reason anymore.
I used to when I first started, but then no one else ever does so. So it's just part of the game and it sucks but whatever. Generally mouse slips happen when people try to move too fast. Which they are doing because they want to pressure me on the clock. So it's simple risk reward - play super fast and accept either blundering/ mouse slipping but be up on time OR move pieces meticulously but waste precious seconds doing so
15:25 I was once in a tournement in an absolute winning position. I was asking myself why tf my oppenent did not leave yet. At the very end, I mouse slipped my queen and lost the game. I was so mad that I told myself to never do the same to someone else. So yes, I offer draw most of the times, except if I am tilted or if my opponent did something I did not like, wich is pretty rare.
1:40 Both moves threaten kn same square, by the power of the knight move choice options. That's just how knights operate, they can arrive at the same square in 2 ways. So still a threat, same threat, why there, tho? k? next time. v.
Why on earth would I play the French? I find the video title quite amusing, "Win with the French Defense" it's like why are you even playing a game if you're purposefully avoiding having any fun? Playing the French is about as much fun as paying taxes. Out of Magnus' top 5 openings as black against e4, the French is where he loses the most games. Am I supposed to believe Aman is better than Magnus? Actually that might not be a stretch given how Mr. Carlsen has abandoned chess while Aman is obliterating 1800's in the Mayflower Open once a year. Ever heard of the candidates? Leave those poor kids alone (they already have to deal with living in Nova Scotia) and try out your beloved French Defense against MVL... I'll wait. And to anyone in reading this, unless your title starts with Grand and ends with Master don't even think about replying to me.

The last game was amazing how you controlled the board with that knight.
Love the French series. Not enough non-lecture material for it on YT

15:15 I'd take the rook 🤚🏼
That first guy was an 1000 at best, and that's being generous, lol.
I play 1300s and get destroyed, 1600? Just blunders
@@emi662002ur just bad
As you can see his rating says 1600 which is higher than 1000
It happens overlooking g3 leads to lost rook. Was lost af after that when going against a gm
@@antoinecomtois8126 i am xD
To me the most important thing thing to remember from this great video is that thumbnail. That had me!
43:50 "Alright... Welcome to the World of Knight H6" - Aman you crack me up no end 😆
15:30 "what would you do?" - bro that rook on f1 would be gone before you could finish saying "what".

what happened to the boxing knockout K.O gif? I miss it.
It's the French defense. Things needed to be classed up
I think you are a better teacher than Magnus C, thank you for sharing
What’s the first song called!!! It’s in all the speedruns and I’ve tried Shazam but it changes the song everytime which isn’t correct Sadge
I rly try to find it also but i cant :'(
I actually had that happen the other day. The game would not let you take back moves so I just gave him a draw.
At 15:30 -> Bxf1 without hesitation!
56:55 aman was losing, right move for white was to take the rook
This series is SOOOOOOOOOO helpful...thanks!
Interesting how you play vs 1600+ that does not know what to do, and I'm constantly playing vs 1300-1400 that have 85+ accuracy?!?
12:16 if the king is on h6 here it’s a stalemate! Lol the speech about how nothing could have gone wrong makes it even better. 😂❤
Upvoting to get rid of the spam currently at the top 🧐
The king wouldn’t be able to get to a3 because of the stutter-step move that he played, making sure that the a3 square was defended.
He specifically addresses that in the game. It's why he does the stutter step
@@ammster1234 f1=Q Kb4 Qd1 Ka3 Qd2 stalemate?
that game against alfredo was sauce
haha big bishop takes F1 kinda guy. I kinda thought you were going to give it to him
I miss hearing the K.O.
where the KO sound effect?
15:30 absolute scumbag move taking the rook dude
We take those 💯💯💯
Some people just leave the game up but walk away.

4:01 So, I think: That's not a move I can't give my king some can't mate me with a back rank, dude, plus, pin me? One move for you, tempo! see?
Your move, but, your move, but... so.
Has he stopped using the boxing clip? lol
This is an older speedrun on twitch, now they're editing it and uploading to UA-cam, the boxing ko was probably still in the making.
Song at 4:50?
Why are you guys so obsessed with the song name?
1:02:30 can someone find the name of this music?
Why do you guys want to know the song name so much?
is smurfing allowed or no?
Are idiots allowed in the comments section?
What’s the song that starts at 0:28:15 ? It’s fire

“You good bruh? You good?” Hahahahaha
100% take the rook on f1! no holds barred, you mouse slip not my fault its yours, pay attention. thank you and good bye.
I genuinely cant tell if that 69 rule is bullshit or legit 😂
It's gold either way!
