Then when you build a gaming pc, you end up playing old games, coz they were better all along.
Yeah. Usually they are cheaper and on sale so you can get all the old games you need.
My first gaming machine was a commodore 64 with colour monitor back in the 80's 😂😂seems so far apart from now when I game on a ps4 an a 60 inch screen.

@@pickolasplays3800 Cool from a nostalgia perspective for sure but I don't miss the huge loading times that games would take on the old original floppy discs and even had a cassette tape drive which took even longer to load😂😂 My first game was Ghostbusters, you can still play it if you down load it from a retro game site on the net. oh and my dot matrix printer which was state of the art back then with its rolls of ribbon 😂 even had a flight sim game of sorts for it but by far the most fun game was chopper Lifter..another gem available online for download.
Back then , when there was no MTXs and DLCs and u were able to unlock everything by playing ....✌🏻❤️

Noone lives forever was a gem. Felt like I was watching an Austin Powers movie. And damn, I was hoping Jedi Knight would have made it to the list.
Wow they achieved so much with a little bit of gpu power in the past, unlike today. Feels like we going backwards.
Not really. If you played them on the hardware they were designed for it wouldn't be a silky smooth 60fps thats for sure. Meanwhile not only do we have 10-20x the graphical fidelity but also at double to triple the framerate they played those games at.

XIII is a brilliant game that will run on pretty much anything. I run it on a laptop that only has 32MB of VRAM and it's very smooth.

I would definetly include original Starcraft, original Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Serioaus Sam, Resident Evil 3, Silent Hill 2, Diablo 2, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Carmageddon 2, Commandos series, Homeworld series, original Prey, Stronghold series. Not sure about original Dead space but it probably fits here as well..
I know how it feels to have a bad graphics card / computer.. Even if I have an rx 570 with 8gb vram and a pretty decent gaming pc, I still watch these, I was desperate for games when I had my 1 vram Graphics card

A few good games recommended here. Of course, there's so many more even better choices once you get beyond the FPS-esque genre. How about Republic Commando, the original Deus Ex, the original Civilization, Colonization, or Master of Orion, Total Annihilation, the original Command and Conquer, the Star Wolves series, the original X-Com, Silent Storm or S3, Fallout 1 and 2, and Terraria, just to name a few.
Old gems are best.. After getting bored from AAA games.. I always come here for old gems 😍

Let be honest. There was some good games and others who was only technically superior at that era.
So many things to play and old games are fun....don't worry if you have Athlon 200GE with integrated Vega 3. You can still have so much fun.

I completed IGI series, Red Alert 2 and Red Alert Yuri's Revenge, Generals and Zero Hour. Those are all time playable game for me.

king kong game was revolutionary for its time. It had survival action most importantly superb environmental interaction. Man the hulk was the game I used to play when I came from school. The nostalgia. The first splinter cell first hitman.

Soldier of Fortune from 2000. That one really, REALLY brought back the gore that had went underground due to the limited 3D graphics of the era. The dismemberments were just amazing.

I played SOF when I was new to gaming and OMG - I remember I was shaking. The atmosphere was so dense, the music and then the GORE... I think I could play it for a couple of minutes and then I was like what the hell... this is madness. Good memories :D
Impressive how many spectacularly crappy games you managed to pull out from dark corners where they should have stayed and been long forgotten. That said: Play No One Lives Forever. Especially the first one. They're still the actual definition of "great".
NOLF 1&2 are such a good games, such a good games. Too bad we never got NOLF 3, we only got Contract J.A.C.K. and while it is not a bad game, I like NOLF much more.

HOMM3 and WC3 are the best of then all. Honorable mention of Dark Messiah, great sword play. It is Sekiro in first person.
I also liked Risen. Great sword play too. The parry need to match the direction of the incoming attack. Enemies also parry a lot.

An old game, it used to be in the catalog of browser games on PC. Playing against bots, respectively. Side view, you and the enemy have 5 horizontal paths (lines) not connected to each other, along them you and the enemy launch your warriors, and the task is to lead your warriors to the enemy’s base. As far as I remember, we play as Roman warriors, our opponents will change, barbarians, goblins and other races. A game from my childhood that evokes a lot of nostalgia, I really hope someone can help with the name!

Excellent video I have played many of these games in my adolescence but in your video I found several gems that I had not played
Needs retitling: 20 great games, some not bad games, and a load of guff.
Mount and Blade: Warband is an excellent medieval game. It has an amazing simulation of it's world, and can emulate massive scale battles and even a working economy with caravans, farmers selling products at other villages and cities, etc...
Look it up on steam, it's worth every penny, and the steam workshop is filled with great mods, and there are even more on sites like ModDB and Nexus.

Well according to Steam it's 500Mhz cpu minimum, although the retail box states 233Mhz, but they probably made it 500Mhz on Steam to account for XP's overhead, since the 233Mhz was meant for Win 9X/ME/2K/NT4.0

You need to make a list using low demanding games from 2009-2020 such as Party Hard, Left 4 Dead 2, League of Legends, Owlboy, Stardew Valley, Hotline Miami 2, Minecraft, etc, etc. Ya' know, games people actually spend more than 15 minutes playing.

NOLF brings back so much memories, also would be awesome if some developer did a third game, something in this style would be really refreshing to play, humor and action in one package, I know there are three NOLF games, first two with the same main character and an offshoot where u play as a villain but a real third episode would be really awesome

No One Lives Forever, ah my childhood :( Extremely great narrative and gripping story :D Sadly, they did not age as well as other games such as half life, but it's still worth playing only for the story alone.

NOLF 2 looks good... or doesn't it? I watched a review recently on YT and it looked pretty much as I remembered it. Quite charming :)
@@vzmol yeah, NOLF 2 really looks pretty good for a 2002-2003 game (I don't remember exactly).
Sadly, it plays poorly compared to NOLF1 imo, the mechanics and shooting are really clunky, and the level design and overall story are weaker as well. Nonetheless, a fun experience :D

Better graphics don't always make for better games. Two of my favorite games for playability (Space Rogue & Red Storm Rising) were on the Commodore 64. Terrible graphics by today's standards but great games. The ones on this list that I have played, were great games so I trust the rest of the list. I didn't know there was a sequel to "Nobody Lives Forever" (a 60s-spy spoof). The original was fun. I'll have to check The Pirate Bay for the sequel.
The DOS Might and Magic games also fit this bill. Might and Magic 4&5 were just awesome even if "bad" graphics. And then 6 through 8 are even more fun.
You don’t have to check the Pirate Bay - see the Internet Archive! I don’t think software availability is as affected by the number of active seeders.

Both No One Lives Forever games totally deserves a proper remake. Also Command & Conquer, first Deus Ex, both Unreal's and first Far Cry.
Good news: Half-Life 1 is completely redone as Black Mesa. I honestly recommend it to anyone with decent hardware who didn't tried it yet. Same guys are now working on Blue Shift and Opposing Force remakes. Other guys works on System Shock 1 and Sin remakes.
NOLF is amazing. I would argue it doesn't need a remake. Another episodes - definitely!
