Before I say the story, when I was in High School, I was extremely depressed. My parents were going through a major divorce, I was living with my Grandfather and his VERY young wife who tried to *harass* me in various ways, and I experienced being dumped for the first time...harshly. I was a Sophomore in HS, and part of the School's choir. We had a bi-yearly choir festival held at a local University. It consisted of the choir of my school (Which was only 15 of us because we only chose our Elite Singers to go), as well as choirs from 8 other schools. We got to stay on campus with the Uni students and were assigned to a room with current residents. The two I got were nice, but typically spent a lot of the day working. After dinner at the Commons on the last night we would be staying there, I had been getting texts from my mom about how she was leaving the house to stay with her "friend" even though I knew she was staying with someone else. My dad was a wreck and I was not ready to go back to my abusive Step-grandma. I had made so many friends and had a great time there at the University. I went out to this courtyard area where a lot of trees stood and made a canopy just before curfew. There was a stone bench with a lone light post in the background that illuminated it. I was having a breakdown. There were so many emotions going through my head, and I was already hurt from being dumped and humiliated in front of the entire class and teacher earlier that week. As I approached the bench, I noticed what seemed to be a girl, with long dark brown hair. She was quite slender, and wore a black undershirt with a white shawl over it. She had a white long skirt that had blue flowers. I had this weird feeling to ask if I could sit with her. She had this weird glow that wasn't really visible, but explainable. I sat next to her, tears still in my eyes. She looked at me and didn't say anything. Then she turned to me and just hugged me. She was so warm and smelled like flowers, specifically roses, I think. I instantly stopped crying and couldn't speak a word. Almost like my mouth was sealed. She asked me whats wrong and I laid it all out. I felt like I could talk about it without overwhelming her. She seemed to understand. After I finished, she said nothing more than "It'll be okay" and she put her hand on my shoulder and sat there for what felt like an eternity, but was really only a couple of seconds. She looked at her phone and said she said "Its past curfew. I have to go" She got up, and I said thank you, and she just smiled. As I turned around and began to walk away, I started thinking about how I didn't get a good look at her face. I turned to ask her for her phone number so we could be friends, as I didn't really have any on my phone. Not even seconds had passed before we got up. I turned back around to ask her for her name, and she was gone. There was no where for her to hide behind even if she was sprinting away. I was so confused and had thought about how for a while. 3 years later, I start my freshman year at that same university. The first night of my stay, I'm returning from the commons with my take out box, and pass by the same exact spot. I could smell the exact same flowery smell for a split second, and was stunned. There were no flowers there either. It was just a stone bench on the grass. Every day I passed by, at the same time after getting dinner, I felt like she was still there, watching over me. I've since graduated from that University, but ever since, I have always believed it to be my guardian angel. It was a surreal feeling and to this day, cannot remember what she looked or sounded like. Only how it felt and the smell of flowers. The second I opened the video, you instantly reminded me of her. Thank you for the content you create and for bringing back that great memory in my life. :D
