    Might have lost my bottle had I seen this joker on the streets of Melbourne.
    I'm an older Australian retiree and I am utterly appalled at what they propose to do to young people, the vulnerable, the sick, and also older people on pensions.
    Not to mention cuts to our science and to foreign aid. And sending asylum seekers to Cambodia?
    It's a national disgrace.

    The Brit guy is basically saying that we got the government we deserved because of our gullibility and political indolence (laziness). He is not a fan of Abbott. The lack of language comprehension skills among Australians will only get worse as an underfunded education system is dumbed down to Tony Abbott levels of stupidity.

    I cant say i like the budget. But what Liberal is doing is FIXING the mess Labour put us in with their excessive spending and lies. The budget will be tough but it puts Australia in a better state for the future.

      Labors lies? Oh the hypocrisy.

    • @Hadgerz
      @Hadgerz 10 років тому +7

      If you could SPELL the word 'Labor' you'd have some chance of making a credible argument.
      But I'm curious, how do you think THIS helps the country at all: www.abc.net.au/news/2014-05-13/budget-winners-and-losers/5433178
      Cutting aid for the disabled, the sick, the homeless, the young, the unemployed, the working poor (whether they be farmers or even sex workers **that wink**), and the indigenous - *all the least able to pay these half a trillion in debts* ... in order to FEED THE MINING AND PRIVATE HIGH INCOME SECTORS: the ones who are clearly *most able to pay*. This isn't about 'fixing Labor's mess' (your use of the Liberal Newscorp Party's own repetitive chants shows how brainwashed you are) it's about kicking the country while it's down because Rinehart and Murdoch and all the LNP's other corporate benefactors want more money. Who do you think donated most generously to the Libs prior to Sep 7th last year? Who do you think Abbott is paying back with this budget? I've already given you the proof, now you need to put 2 and 2 together. The only thing this budget is 'fixing' is a straight course to a double-dissolution: and then after that, a better, fairer, _real_ Australia.

      By comparison how can you call Australia's financial situation a mess?

    I'm a liberal supporter (liberal is waaay better for us farmers), but think the budget is ridiculous. So much pain from people who are struggling yet barely any change to the huge businesses with their hundreds of millions of $$$. I think every Australian would agree that the debt should be getting paid off, but not in the form of this intense, stupidly unequal, and disrespectful budget. PS: dont think that every liberal voter is "Liberal rich filth, scum, etc" so not true.

    The budget sucks, I'm a student who will be heavily affected by it. I would like to point out one thing. While I don't think this level of extreme budget cutting is the solution we do need to do something about decreasing the debt. I dont think that the students, the sick and the elderly should be the ones to be impacted the most. What is the point of targeting those with no money and very little ways of recieving money? Yes the debt needs to be reduced, but not by penalising those who can't afford it

  • @chinogambino9375

    To the idiots complaining about handouts and calling this a responsible budget getting us back on track, do some research. This budget is not a great reduction in spending, despite robbing the states and divesting 80 billion out of health and education the budget only shaves less than 1% of GPD in growth of government spending.
    Money that would have went to education, scientific research for the economy, maintaining clean and safe streets, finding young people work to keep them off welfare, keeping the unemployed off the streets, sustainable management of river systems and hospitals is being funneled into the federal governments laundry list of pet programs.
    Programs like full paid parental leave(upper middle class welfare) at the cost of the NBN being built in perpetuity(for nothing), billions in secretive naval operations and bribes to island nations, 2.55 billion in gifts to the private sector to reduce pollution(it's like the cops paying you not to litter), 20 billion horded into some slush fund for medical research and 50 billion in road works(pro big business works covered public some use).
    Then you have to realise this is no cut at all, at best they expect merely to be heading to a surplus after 2018 and all they had to do was force the states into a postion of expanding the GST, rates, raising the pension to 70, taxing fuel at an increased rate every year, making you pay more to see a doctor, putting people on the streets and putting the Royal Mint, Medibank Private, Australia Post, Defense Housing Australia and other lucrative public property up for a fire sale.
    The Liberal Party are selling the house for cash upfront, renting it out and pissing everything they got for it against the wall, because, I dunno boat people are bad or something.

It doesn't make any sense, it's not only irrelevant to the topic but most people who support the budget aren't racist or xenophobic, they just misunderstand basic economics.

    • @GreedyCapybara7
      @GreedyCapybara7 10 років тому +1

      Well, "Hooray4boobies" it's actually not as simple as that. Paying off dept by acquiring more dept (unless done carefully) can be very bad, countries that do this are at risk of "Greeceing" at any time. What you want to do is pay off just a little bit more of the interest every year. A comparatively poor country like Australia can't afford to do any more than that, holding everyone upside down and seeing what falls out is not an efficient way to pay off dept.
      The only other option would be to increase the taxes on big industries like mining such that Australia actually sees *some* of the money made from these industries. But lobby groups make taxing the rich nearly impossible in Australia.

    • @GreedyCapybara7
      @GreedyCapybara7 10 років тому

      I have, I also have a degree in economics and it's appalling. It MAY have some slight (and I do mean slight) improvement in the budget bottom line in the very short term but in the mid to long term it's an absolute disaster. There are much better ways to go about it, that have been discussed in a good deal of detail but they have ignored it.

      It's a Union website, it's on strike for more money and less work. They Union management would fix it but they spent all your union dues and hookers and champagne.

    It's a piece of shit budget, but the guy selling Big Issue's looks much too old to be in the age bracket that's going to have to work 'til we're 70. And the reason we'll be working until we're 70 is because with modern medicine we'll live until we're 90, and you're not supposed to spend the last third of your life on pension. The retirement age is based on life expectancy.
