Let’s be honest the only difference between Klaus and Katherine is that Klaus was lucky enough to have his family and Katherine was alone.

Honestly I think the difference is how they treated their daughters when they finally met them. Klaus loved Hope and was willing to sacrifice himself for her, Katherine wasn’t willing to risk her own skin for Nadia. She could’ve called Klaus or had someone else contact him for her, but she wasn’t willing to risk her own death to save her own daughter. And then she snapped back like nothing had happened after Nadia died. Don’t get me wrong I love them both as characters, but klaus did horrible thing to his family and to others to protect his family in the only way he knew how. Katherine put herself and her fun before her family. It’s less about having family, and more about how much they loved their family
@@LMSPetRescue klaus killed people because he was annoyed and he was sadistic . Most of the things he did was nothing connected to his family . Katherine on the other hand did everything to save her own ass. Tell me one why would klaus even give the cure to her .klaus wanted to torture her so even if he gives her the cure , he will ask something in return. Katherine valued her survival more than anything but still she came there to spend her last moments with her daughter and knowing they were going to kill her.

@@tylerrayford-jackson9796 exactly. Katherine had locked all those feelings far away to protect herself. It's absurd and naive when people think it would be easy for her to instantly let those feelings back in. Klaus never even got there.
Nina Dobrev is so talented.
Imagine having to play 4 separate characters (Elena, Katherine, Tatia, Amara) for one show and being so good at acting that the audience can easily differentiate between the lot of them. Unreal.
Her and Skyler Samuels (The Gifted) are amazing. Unlike the doppelgangers, I can't tell which Frost sister is which when they're together.

Yesss 100%. She played Amara, Tatia, Katherine and Elena. The she played Elena trying to be Katherine and Katherine trying to play human Elena. Not to forget about Katherine playing vampire Elena. Or Katherine before death, aka Katerina. And human Katherine after the cure. And last but not last, immortal Katherine, the one who took over hell. These make 15 different identities played by only one person, but still recognized bz the whole fandom which is just insane.

I feel as though if Katherine's daughter had reunited years ago she would've received the same sort of redemption arc Klaus received with his daughter.
No, Kluas had 1000 years without his daughter, at his core he did care about others in the form of his family, season 4 ending. Katherine was put herself first before everyone else, only showed true selfless love when Nadia was on her death bed. Selfish bitch at her core.

That's because Klaus had a family, Katherine did not. Klaus treated his family like shit too, and the main reason Katherine did all of those things was because she was on the run from Klaus. In reality, if Katherine was a man she would have been redeemed. Hell, just look at Damon, the man who raped and abused Caroline but somehow got a happy ending. Katherine got the short end of the stick because Julie Plec is obsessed with somehow redeeming the worst men imaginable while condemning the women who aren't even as bad. The only difference between Damon and Klaus vs Katherine is that they had family members who were willing to deal with their bullshit.

Like Katherine, lost her child, her family was murdered by Klaus for simply running away, she had to live in fear, and hide and run for freaking 500 years, got no loves, and the salvatoree brothers were possibly the only time she got a breathing room

Edit: To the people arguing in the comments whether or not Katherine Pierce was a villain, she was. Just because she’s a villain you liked, and had some character depth does not mean she wasn’t an antagonist to our main characters and their lives (for example, killing Caroline, leaving Jeremy for dead, being the cause for one of the main conflicts between brothers Damon and Stefan). However this is only my opinion. I love Katherine Pierce, but she will be to me always one of the greatest villains.

Actually no. She lost her humanity a long time ago. Rose said that after a few hundred years you can't actually turn it on and off since it's kind of morphed into your vampire self. Katherine is not human in any way. Yes she has emotions but she is no longer Katerina Petrova.

Klaus will always be my favourite TVD character but you have to be colder than him for your heart to not break every time you see what he did to her family.

Problem for me is that Klaus that was far worse than Katherine received a redemption arc and was lucky enough to have his family around him and even forgive him after everything he's done, he didn't deserve that redemption arc, he was a villain and deserved to be treated as such, meanwhile look at Katherine she had an awful end

i loved how Kathrine made herself what everyone strives to be. No one helped her she was independent and thats how she survied, and people dare to not like her.

The ruined potential of kalijah makes me sad to this day. They were epic and in the end Elijah was the love of her life. After all, she gave him one thing that was more important to her than her daughter, her chance of freedom from klaus.

Katherine wasn’t perfect but no one is. She was really misunderstood and deserved a redemption arc. If Damon could find redemption, why couldn’t she? She got really close to it after Nadia but Julie Plec ruined it.
She was also the only one (besides Caroline) who truly loved Stefan and saw that he was, in fact, the better man. Yes, I’m a Steferine shipper lol

It’s how you know the show is good: when the characters are so complex and commit so many acts in morally gray areas, the fan base becomes divided of sorts, preferring one over the other and every fan has a damn good reason, too, because each character is really unique and can go either way (a hero or a villain). Same with the Originals.
All members of the original family represent and reflect certain parts within us. It’s who we see ourselves in that determines the extent of how much we like (or hate) the character. In my case, I started with a strong dislike towards Klaus, only to realize years later that he was too much like myself, so I guess, I didn’t accept those parts of me at the time. Etc etc.
I’m still a Marcel and Stefan kinda gal, going by personality alone.
@@randomuser0483 PS. His “shitty brother” literally got marked by Rayna’s sword and was forced to be on the run for years because of Damon. He also literally sacrificed his life to save Damon and redeem himself by giving him the cure (we all know that Damon never really wanted to turn, Stefan forced him). If that’s not the ultimate sacrifice, I don’t know what is.
You’re also falsely attributing your own perceived impressions of the Salvatore brothers’ traits to why Katherine loved Stefan and not Damon.

TVD would be boring without the existence of Katherine Pierce.
She plays alone, like a Fox. Always sneak before step. And the truly that even all that she have been thought, seeing her daughter again, get a short freedom, couldn't change her truly personality, and again that TV Show teach us about our lives can possibly change who we was to better or worse, even there's a still chance to get everything back you're never be the same.
Klaus took every one that she has ever loved away from her now all she knew was to survive. And people adore him and make HER the villain?
Also, Stefan killed so many people just for drinking blood and for fun but katherine has always killed people to survive. Then how come Stefan found peace and katherine went to hell?!!

Agree on the like of Klaus for the dislike of Katherine. I do get people who don't like Katherine for her personality BUT I don't get people who don't like her for her specific actions because well, you should hate everyone in the TVD universe then. Klaus top tier of hate.
For Hell when it was introduced it was said to Damon that because of their actions in the past, he and Stefan will roat in hell when they died. It was also said to Stefan later when Cade met him. When Stefan died, Katherine died with him so Hell was destroyed. His ghost couldn't go there, it didn't exist anymore. So yeah he did find peace because the rules of Cade's world didn't exist anymore. Peace was more a state of mind I think and Stefan did reach that.
I do think Katherine deserved a way better ending. I already didn't like how she was stabbed again and again during the final. They were killing her legend by stabbing her like nothing. I loved her first death in season 5, Stefan by her side. It was perfect. I didn't like her arc after that when she was in Elena's body. I honestly hated it. But the death that follows was also very good with the goodbyes to Nadia and Stefan. So I was still fine with it.This one is the worst. The only thing that saved it a little was the fact she dies with Stefan, the love of her life. Otherwise it was just shitty for her character and she didn't deserved that. If even Vicky gets to have peace, they could have give it to Katherine...
@@pyxelly0506 True. But Julie said she had to kill Katherine because of Nina's contract. It was too much for the actress. That' s why Kath took Elena's body. This way Nina wouldn't be so tired. Julie said Kath's death happened just because of the contract. When Paul played Silas, for ex, Stefan was not there. But Nina played multiples characters at the same time in the same scene! Stefan and Katherine should be Endgame. Caroline and Stefan didn't work as a couple but they were cute as friends! Zero chemistry! Love Katherine! 🇧🇷🤷🏻♀️😍
Stefan and Klaus both realized the error of their ways. They both died in the end for who or what they loved. Katherine died because she wanted revenge. Stefan saved Mystic falls. Klaus saved his family and New orleans from the hollow.
@@leilavieiradesouza7681 I knew about the contract but they could have stick to the first death with Stefan by her side, in peace. I like the second death but not the plot she had in Elena's body. If they wanted to ease Nina's work, they could have been fine with the first one, I think.

@@clips9457 Agree with you here but she did have a sort of redemption at her first death. She was in peace. I wish the writers stayed with that. The plot when she was in Elena's body is coherent with her character even if I didn't like it. But in season 8 while I wasn't expecting a good ending for her, the writers were disrespectfull to her character by treating her like she was so easy to stop. Katherine was a legend and yet she was stabbed during the entire final when she was queen of hell. They forgot the complexity of her character too. So it made me miss her first death in season 5. But otherwise I agree that she didn't deserve a happy ending in the end

Katherine is the best character in the show, the only person who doesn't mask her pain with the no humanity perk when she had many reasons to do so, and another thing I like about her is once she sets her sights on something she'll stop at nothing to get it. She's goated

I genuinely do believe that a tiny part of Katherine did care for Elena but with her life being a mess and constantly being on the run for 500 years, it only led her to become a survivor who just wanted everything for herself so that she could live that life she wanted. If it wasn't for her jealousy (which wasn't Elena's fault at all) she and Elena would've been amazing and unstoppable together.

She ran from Klaus for centuries but it seems like she also learned a lot from him, I never realize that
Every character on the show saying Katherine is such an evil person and she deserves to die after everything she’s done are delusional and hypocrites. Katherine was made into a monster by everyone around her. Her own family abandoned her. The 500 years that she was a vampire, she never once turned off her humanity. Every vampire on that show has turned it off and done things way worse than what Katherine ever did. Katherine is the strongest person on the show. She looked out for herself because she had no one left.
Still can't believe they gave a redemption arc to Klaus from all people and no to Katherine
