"Stand by me, Flint" is what she said in my version as well. A very interesting little change... It is very sad, that this game hasn't received a proper continuation. I wouldn't mind playing a remastered version, retaining most of the plot and dialogues unchanged. It is till an immensely well written story, one of the best in the industry, and for that alone it deserves to be embedded in 2020s technology & shared with the wide audience. One can dream, can we not;) ?
Completely agree. Personally I think Aquanox 2: Revelation was a worthy successor and a seriously underrated game as well. Too bad the the recent Aquanox Deep Descent came out horribly bad failing to revive the brand.
I wonder why this is so bugged at the end. I remember this mission taking forever because everything takes like a million hits to die. I imagine the HP tables are completely borked or something
It's not a bug. It was supposed to compensate for the overpowered weapons you get in the end and the idea that bionts are like super hard to kill guys. And in my particular case I was using a mod that gave them even more HP, so you would even need to rely on torpedoes sometimes. In terms of killing everyone around you and not getting killed yourself, except a few very specific places, this game is pretty easy. In most cases the main challenge comes from not letting the enemy to blow up someone/something else.
@@xeelwarbeast oh you played the augmented mod. I played the original version and the bionts took like a million years to disable their engines. I think the augmented mod reduces biont HP by quite a lot but increases turret HP, which was already really high in the original
Happened to me too. This is most certainly related to coming to close the core entrance. What I'd recommend is: 1. Make sure to sink all bombers before you enter the canyon. If you leave them alive, they just love to sneak on you through the walls and then you're almost certainly dead. 2. Do not bother with the set of turrets over the last section of the canyon, just dive below them. 3. Make sure you destroy all the mines in the last section. Sometimes they are difficult to spot and you may miss one, making Hong Long to wait for you forever (23:53). 4. While swimming there, avoid moving to close to the actual core entrance, as it almost always causes the no mission end (aka stuck Hong Long) bug. 5. Once Hong Long finally starts her final approach to the core entrance, keep you distance from her and, as before, do not come close to the entrance. 6. Once she is at the core, she will stop there (this is part of the script). However, if you've followed my recommendations you should get the "Autopilot Available" message (24:46) at this point. Just hit the autopilot button for the mission to end. Hope this helps.
@@xeelwarbeast Thanks ;p Ive been actually replaying that game after few years. Thing is I did that and nothing changed, but i removed augmented mod and it worked flawlessly as it should. Guess that mod broke something extra in my game. Replaying Aquanox 1 now ;p
