      Hi Ryan, I’ve just fitter my injector kit using your video and it took approx 2 hours. I bought the kits from your list apart from the slide hammer and instead bought a cheaper one on eBay which claimed to have adaptors for Bosch injectors. Unfortunately the adapter didn’t fit (right thread size just flange fowled with injector housing). I then came up with a solution to use a slim 13mm spanner and insert into side of injector and work it loose that way (rotate clockwise and anti-clockwise). So all in all a good job and a lot of money saved! I’ve also documented the condition of the old seals and injectors. In my case it was cylinder 1 and 6 which were the worst and most leaking. The other injectors were clean and shiny upon removal. Once again, many thanks for your video!

    The SAE term for the bolts is Torque to Yield, abbreviated TTY. You can actually reuse them a few times. The stress-strain curve for those bolts allows for quite a bit of stretch before they fail. We actually allowed critical fasteners (head bolts, main bolts, etc.) to be used 3 times for the engine I worked on. But, they are also inexpensive, so if available, I wouldn't shy away from re-using them. Thanks for posting the link to the kit. Here in NA, the kits that come when you order from virtually all of the vendors is incorrect, it is for a gasoline (petrol if you prefer) engine. And most don't have a picture so you don't know. So just a heads up to anyone looking. If in a bind, Elring 767140 is the copper washer/seal. Be sure you clean up the injector bore, BTW, or they will fail again quickly. 2 months to be precise :(

      I suspect audi sent me the wrong injector hold down bolt for my TDI. It was a bit longer than the one that was in it and it bottomed out and snapped off in the head. Are the FSI injector bolts longer?

    brilliant video Ryan, I need your input please,
    I recently needed to replace parts in my audi V6 tdi which needed the high pressure rail being removed. I did put it back together fine but after getting it to start I feen like the engine developed and miss or like a fuel starvation ( to briefly explain it) I drove the cat about 100 miles and it kinda feels like if develops a miss or fuel starvation as soon as there is a bit of torque on the engine. I get the feeling the pump/rail is not feeding enough diesel through to the motor. Not saying that's what is is, its just how the symptoms look like. I did clean the diesel filter. but am looking at other areas to look at in my quest to trace the issue.

Many thanks.

      @RyansWorkshop  2 роки тому

      Thank you, and yes they will self bleed as they are under high pressure, it will take a little longer to start on the first start up afterwards while the air is removed through the injectors, my vehicle started perfect on the second attempt.

    Excellent video, Ryan. Just one question for you: I suspect one of more of my injectors are faulty (engine running irregularly and smell of diesel in the car). But: how do I find out which one(s) is/are faulty? I do have an EBD2 tool but it's not showing any error codes. Any suggestions? Thx!

    • @RyansWorkshop
      @RyansWorkshop  8 місяців тому

      It sounds like you may have leaking seals which will eventually damage the injectors, you can sometimes identify which ones are leaking by hearing a chuffing sound and sometimes a strong diesel odour and puff of smoke, but the best way to identify would be to remove the injectors, if you have a leaking seal it would be a good idea to change all of the seals because if 1 has gone more Will likely follow.

    When cleaning the injector locating hole if there is carbon build up how do you get carbon out? Will in not go onto the cylinder? Also this will be the same if you need to cut the sealing face for injector. What do you recommend?

    • @RyansWorkshop
