Michael Cole in my opinion is doing the best work of his career. His commentary with the Bloodline storyline makes the story so much better. Also his hatred for Dominick Mysterio is top notch.
Cole went from being mid to being one of the best commentators in the business. His dynamic with Graves, Barrett, and McAfee especially have been a delight to listen to.
He was ‘mid’ because he had an angry boss yelling in his ear for 20+ years. You’d be pretty mediocre to if that’s all you ever experienced and never got to really get into the story or the wrestling. Vince being gone has allowed Cole to blossom and we’re all here for it.
Cole saying "It's over" so many times makes you think he's right even when deep down you know there'll be a kickout so it makes kickouts even more iconic. Also his "Jimmy, what the hell did you do?" was so accusatory and potrayed that betrayal PERFECTLY at Summerslam.

Cole used to have a very restrained role thanks to Vinny Mac. Now without him around much, Cole got the freedom to be himself more.
