    honestly, my fave part about your cooking videos is watching you eat it. YUM! I am not really into tinned mackrel. I see it as something we would have at the marae with a cracker and raw onion lol! this looks interesting though.

      Hi Leah, I know I might actually try doing mukbangs of the food i cook now lol thanks for the feedback, yes same im not a fan of the tinned mackeral too but it definitely is nice when cooked this way - so good! you can also cook it in cream too - yum!

    Funny thing I never KNEW exactly how to make the FAI’AI elegi until NOW, lol, I made it twice before, but never ever TASTED like the true one, until today, all because I USED the elegi and it’s SUAVAI, NO WONDER it never turned out to be the TRUE fai’ai elegi, lol, sorry, but THANKS to YOU baby for SHOWING n SHARING this with us, I love it but I don’t do it anymore, only it never turned out the way I have TASTES BEFORE, thanks a lot dear!!!🙏🙏👍👍💞❤️💖

    I wish I had known that you use Celsius when baking. I'm in America and we still use Farenheit, so my elegi came out undercooked lol 🤦‍♂️

    Can you line the dish with a smoke banana leaf to give it a bit more flavor? Also, is it okay to add ginger to the dish in addition to the garlic and onion?

      you most definitely can! just make sure you steam the banana leaf so its soft and easy to mould to the baking dish - and of course you can add ginger!

    Instead of Eleni I used a piece of TUNA (3lbs), and dropped in there some Samoan red peppers as well ... choohoo! An old guy in the village used to say, "ua sikuegi le Aso Sa" .       I love faiai tuna! you should also try with best foods mayonnaise. Very nice!

    I need about 1kg of just the Mackerel to fill me. While I can eat taro I dont eat plants especially those of the nightshade family (Taro)
    Chantal Organics Coconut cream is a better product than Kara. It doesnt have the fillers, it has more actual coconut.

      Hi Kat! for tinned fish no because they are already softened. When roasted in the oven it will come out soft and edible
