honestly, my fave part about your cooking videos is watching you eat it. YUM! I am not really into tinned mackrel. I see it as something we would have at the marae with a cracker and raw onion lol! this looks interesting though.
Hi Leah, I know I might actually try doing mukbangs of the food i cook now lol thanks for the feedback, yes same im not a fan of the tinned mackeral too but it definitely is nice when cooked this way - so good! you can also cook it in cream too - yum!
Funny thing I never KNEW exactly how to make the FAI’AI elegi until NOW, lol, I made it twice before, but never ever TASTED like the true one, until today, all because I USED the elegi and it’s SUAVAI, NO WONDER it never turned out to be the TRUE fai’ai elegi, lol, sorry, but THANKS to YOU baby for SHOWING n SHARING this with us, I love it but I don’t do it anymore, only it never turned out the way I have TASTES BEFORE, thanks a lot dear!!!🙏🙏👍👍💞❤️💖
Yuum we’re about to make it! Can’t wait 😁 Best part of making this is all the ingredients are cheap and easy to get ahold of in nz! So simple as well. Thank you Veni ☺️
Can you line the dish with a smoke banana leaf to give it a bit more flavor? Also, is it okay to add ginger to the dish in addition to the garlic and onion?
Instead of Eleni I used a piece of TUNA (3lbs), and dropped in there some Samoan red peppers as well ... choohoo! An old guy in the village used to say, "ua sikuegi le Aso Sa" . Even Jerome Gray agrees regarding this great Samoan dish! ua-cam.com/video/xNhQprRHtGM/v-deo.html ... Malo Veni, it was delicious.
I need about 1kg of just the Mackerel to fill me. While I can eat taro I dont eat plants especially those of the nightshade family (Taro) Chantal Organics Coconut cream is a better product than Kara. It doesnt have the fillers, it has more actual coconut.
Does anybody know what this food is called: thin noodles, fairly clear, has some vegetables chopped up, and that's all I know, it's so good and it's not chinese food btw 😭
Pregnant cravings satisfied right here!! Yusss with taro/fa'i/ulu nomnom

Awesome Idea! might try that soon lol thanks Ropeti!
Only fool dislike this video ...awesome stuff Uce
I wish I had known that you use Celsius when baking. I'm in America and we still use Farenheit, so my elegi came out undercooked lol 🤦♂️
Thanx for the heads up lol.. it's 356 degrees for us in the US 👍🏽 Malo
next time I will advise of the american degrees as well when cooking! thanks Bo T and Paapaa Sapolu!
O frick I used coconut milk not coconut cream. OH NO 🤦♂️
Omg 😍😍 can you please make falai elegi with isalaelu(eggplant) next please? Love your channel! 😍
falai elegi with isalaelu sounds yum! will definitely add this to the list lol thanks Ita!
Spinach is good too
Can you line the dish with a smoke banana leaf to give it a bit more flavor? Also, is it okay to add ginger to the dish in addition to the garlic and onion?
you most definitely can! just make sure you steam the banana leaf so its soft and easy to mould to the baking dish - and of course you can add ginger!
How much fresh fish fillets should I use..
Faafetai lava Lealaisalanoa!
What’s the measurement if I was to use mayo with 4 cans of mackerel?
Seki uce
Do you ever add ginger? I'm going to make your recipe today. :D
Can I make this with bumblebee canned tuna
you sure can! faiai tuna is very nice!
My mom makes this for my dad sometimes. I'm not a huge fan of mackerel... do you think this would taste good with tinned tuna?
I love faiai tuna! you should also try with best foods mayonnaise. Very nice!
I need about 1kg of just the Mackerel to fill me. While I can eat taro I dont eat plants especially those of the nightshade family (Taro)
Chantal Organics Coconut cream is a better product than Kara. It doesnt have the fillers, it has more actual coconut.
180 degree?? is that Celsius
More like a running stomach lol 😂
Does anybody know what this food is called: thin noodles, fairly clear, has some vegetables chopped up, and that's all I know, it's so good and it's not chinese food btw 😭
You mean, Broil
You mean , faiai pilikaki
You dont remove the bones?
Hi Kat! for tinned fish no because they are already softened. When roasted in the oven it will come out soft and edible
Have you never tasted tin fish before 🤦🏼♀️
B R U H 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Faiai Eleni that's how it's spelling Aea
ioe sa'o lelei oe Marie, lea ua ou tago to faasao le sipelaga a le title, thanks again alofa atu
Awesome videos but please eat with your mouth closed would be top notch🤦♀️
