Lovely. 👍We cook bananas this way in Trinidad and Tobago also, but we call it 'Oil down'. We use more coconut milk though so you have more sauce; we also add other seasonings. We do the same thing with breadfruit too.
I am never going to complain about my tiny, ill-equipped kitchen ever again... Got some green bananas at a food distribution today and didn't know what to do with them. Cannot wait to try this. Love lemongrass too...
god bless you fune, i love samoan foods, wish you can bring some over for me mom here in kahaluu, im willing to pay for one awesome plate lunch of samoa!!!
We visited the PCC and tried Fa'alifu Fa'i. It was so delicious 😋! We went back for seconds and thirds. We liked it so much that we immediately went online looking for recipes 😊
We tasted a sweet potato version of this yesterday prepared by this guy and it was phenomenal! We eat a lot of sweet potatoes but never had it this way. Will definitely be making it when we get back to the mainland. Thank you for sharing your culture with us!
I loved this cooking.i was born and raised in new Guinea.very similar diet my mother used to cook malayian food and native foods.i was 14 when I left so didn't learn a lot of cooking.am trying to do that now.with cocnut pumpkin leaves etc.i love it.thank you.i am an old lady now so it brings me much joy.have just subscribed.😂😂😂❤❤
Talofa Tama Samoa. This made me very happy. This brings back many good memories when we were in Samoa on my great grand parents village. My favorite foods. Fa'afetai lava tele ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this faalifu fai tutorial! I signed up to bring faalifu fai for church tomorrow on our International Day. Born n raised in California USA, but strong on my Samoan roots. I love how resourceful you are using nature's leaves for a plate, and as a toothpick. Also your tongs are natural; and your oven mitts are natural. With your talents you will never starve. I also LOVE that you used lemongrass!! Wow, that's a secret ingredient and I will use that too. Thank you also for the added humor by including the "interruptions" of the rooster's crow LOL!! You're #1 in my book; I think there's another faalifu fai demo but nowhere as educational and humorous as yours! Truly indebted - faafetai tele lava!!! Blessings to you, I pray you are well and in good health!!! Oh yes, we (me & my husband) are vegetarians too. Not yet vegan, which is best -- one day by God's wonderful grace! Faafetai tele uso!!!
I met you at the Polynesian center. Tried this it was very delicious 😋. Just last November I was visiting my son. He took me around Hawaii. I loved every minute of it.
Really loving this! We eat a lot of green bananas in Jamaica too, and of course we absolutely cherish our coconut water, milk, oil, and even the thrash. Best regards!
Tried this the other day at PCC with the uli and it was soooooo good. I wanted to make it at home so I'm really grateful for this video. Thanks for taking the time to make it, can't wait to check out your other recipes!
I got to enjoy it when I was at PCC the other day. The guy in the video was the one who offered it. I went back for 2nds. Just to let folks know, coconut milk has a lot of saturated fat, so make sure to balance your diet if you use coconut milk.
Talofa 🤙Was watching this video while eating fa’alifu kalo. Glad l found your channel. Love your content and your personality. I made my fa’alifu with kulimi. Is susu better to use? Malo!!
