What a great musician this guy is. I've seen him live playing with Clapton, Trucks etc and he is right up there. He's a complete package with his songwriting and musicianship. Can listen for hours
Thank you Doyle, this world needs more musicians like you brother..
Doyle Bramhall 2 is amazing and my new favorite artist. Everything you need is my new favorite song. I could listen to it all day. ❤
Check out his old band, the Arc Angels. They’re a blues rock supergroup formed in Austin, Texas in the early 1990s. The band came together after the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan and was composed of Vaughan’s friends Doyle Bramhall II and Charlie Sexton and two of the band members from Vaughan’s band Double Trouble, drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon.
Good stuff.
Ever since the ARC Angels and his Welcome CD I’ve loved this cats music, such a fresh sound and talent. See him all the time when he’s back in Austin.
DBII lineage is amazing I have been aware of him sense SRV would put him on stage . He is the future
I’ve been following Doyle since I saw him opening for Clapton in 2000. I’ve got all his records and he just gets “classier and classier” with every record. Either this or the Smokestack album are my favorites. For some reason he just doesn’t shine when playing with Clapton, maybe he wants to be considered another member of his band, but his solo stuff is amazing, you all should check him out! Please come to Spain soon!!!
Hopefully that includes the Arc Angels. :-)
👍👍🙌💪🏿
I saw him at the state fair of Texas with Charlie Sexton and the Arc A gels years before
@@mlwsf yes, the Arc Angels album is amazing too. Charlie Sexton is a hell of a player as well
Arc Angels brought me here, stayed for the Grandfathered-In Doyle B II by SRV
Wow Doyal thank you for being the whole package!! I can't believe I am just now discovering you! Your guitar sings my Soul awake in a relaxed manner and your voice takes me to the place of wanting more and hoping the song will not end!
DOYLE IS ONE OF THE BEST,GREAT TALENTED GUITARIST,MUSICIAN,IT,s ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO LISTEN TO HIM, AWESOME.😎🎸🔊🎶☮️ BOB.
Been listening to Doyle for over 25 years now. Sounding great!
So far I had only known Doyle Bramhall as a side-man to Clapton etc. but now came to realize he is so much more and such a versatile musician.
The rhythm guitarists es-335 strapped all the way up to his neck 💀
Congratulations to mr Bob Mallory for the GREAT sound..!!!
Respect to the band..!!!
Just add the black girls and horns in with our minds.
Antonis Fender - Right?!...That mix was spot on!
Doyle is a joker in a good way. 😁😄 He's one the most tasteful and talented guitarist, singer and composer of the last 15-20 years.
Wow, is all I can say. Doyle is the best and those guys with him are killing it as well. What a great sound...
That's a tight little ensemble. Bass player is killing it.
Andy Hess
Damn! Doyle just keeps getting better and better! I like this line up! Good musicians playing like a band ought to!
Very 70’s sounding.
Great grooves, lots of soul!
One of the greatest guitar lessons that I ever got was an old dude at an open jam who leaned over and said 'any time you hear two guitar players playing the exact same thing that's one too many.' listen to these two guys playing completely different but complimentary things. So smooth, so sexy.
Everything you need...just...I must have listened to this 1000 times...frickin' awesome song and playing, bought the single, you're an incredible guitarist/musician, you've inspired and helped me review my own guitar playing, thanks brother ...mucho respect!!!!
Thanks for having Doyle on! Always inspired by Doyle since ArC Angels & JellyCream🎸🎶🎵
Jeff beck meets Jimi Hendrix.... Love it... I am a huge new fan 😊
The Drummer has a very nice voice and sing very well indeed 12:54
Absolutely .he was playing bass on mama can’t help you no more .
Abe rounds
@@user-gm5by6dj3d That dudes groove is something special
@@user-gm5by6dj3d Actually Abe only ''played'' bass in the music video. Doyle didn't have any bassists available for the video shoot, so he asked Abe to mimick. Tim Lefebvre from Tedeschi Trucks Band played the actual bass on the record.
I did not know about this guy until I saw him playing @ Clapton's band and it's just his style and sound which is so unique and fantastic, love it. Also his use of the "analog outfitters" guitar pedals gear is just phantastic (can hear it in the second song in the solo parts) 11:58. Keep following this man
thanks god !!!! you buy a new guitar :) hehehe , Amazing guitar player , im from Portugal and your Fã , first time i see you " in the flesh " with a Roger waters and i walways folow your music
Doyle Bramhall II has a fine singing voice and huge guitar chops! I enjoy his selections of songs. I am always a Jeff Beck fan but after his death I discovered Doyle Bramhall II and other great talents.😊
Have you listened to Eric Gales .. another super amazing upside-down player
. Love them both
Make Doyle play (🔥🎸🎤). Don't make him talk (zzzzzzz...😴).
I can imagine how hard it would be to play with Doyle as the other guitarist at first if you're right handed, which the majority is. It's hard enough to follow a lefty, but one who plays upside down ? Wow that would be a hard task...for me anyway. I wonder what pedal he's using for his Leslie tone ? Is it a NEO Ventilator..I'm trying to see it in this performance, sounds great, like everything he plays. Band is tight also
Thanks to John Mayer for sending me here.
LITERALLY! i can see you’ve consumed the livestream too😁
Daniel Ratliff on keys
Collin kapernick on drums
Bass player playing bass and...
Richard “the night stalker” Ramirez on electric...
Love Doyle...
Andy Hess on bass?
One of the greats!!!!! Wish he had more recognition. Since he played in Portugal i am a fan!!!! Terrific bluesman!!! Hope he returns to Lisbon!!!! Cheers!
Fenomenal .
Man, what a groove. Loved seeing him shining in his own light.
Like maybe Curtis Mayfield and Duane Allman? Marvin Gaye and Eric Clapton? These things could happen anytime! We have all their recordings we just put them together! AI!!!!! AI captain!
This version of going going is better than the CD’S ONE which is so good with Tedeschi trucks band but this vibe sound and this voices work makes me amazed !!!!! You are a king Doyle, trust in you....Kind regards from France
A little into the first song, you can see Doyle lost his place trying to play the rhythm, or something, like maybe he lost his focus. That slight shake of his head... I know that feeling, playing with others and for some reason the connection between your brain and hands seems to malfunction for a few seconds... He didn't falter on vocals though! Awesome, soulful and soothing sound he has with this new record! I'm digging it! Love that smooth and sweet tone from his guitar too!
He suddenly realized his strings were upside down. 😁
guys like Doyle Bramhall II will always be
overshadowed by someone like Ed Sheeran..
ah...the deafness of the music business
Amazing guitarist & songwriter . . . Just goes from strength to strength
Good guitar player, awful lyrics. All the same sappy co-dependent love songs that have been written thousands of times.
Haha he forgot the chords in the first song. Nice to see one of my favourite musicians of all time still doing that :)
yea i saw that.... he did it a few times and reacted very chill... pissed that he had a brain fart but picked it up... like it was meant to happen.. great to see even a pro forget his shit... the world moves so fast at some levels that forgetting is more frequent than people think... so much buzzing around talent.
Right handed guitar slung to left handed like Hendrix. Strung for right hand so low "E" is on bottom. Standard fingering for chords is not standard. Doyle learned to adapt without having a left handed guitar ! Sorry if any of this is misinformation.
My dreams just came true....Doyle is amazing! I really miss the ‘Arc Angels’. Artists progress and it is what it is. P.S. I saw this a week ago but did not have time to watch the entire video.
He looks like george Michael in this. Why So many musicians? They ruined show xd
Both he and his Dad have that same style. It’s a relaxed Texas Blues sound that you have to appreciate! You have to love this! Texas music like this has a real down to earth Bluesy feel that I have come to know and love!
Mind blown. He plays with the guitar strings in reversed order.
MosesMabini that’s how the great Albert King played too
Let's not forget Eric Gales 😉
It's not harder than the regular approach if that's how you learned.
So, when he does a downstroke he is technically doing an up stroke>??
@@DavidS-pw5gd Yes that's plainly visible. He has stated elsewhere that this is part of achieving the desired sound of older players like Albert King ... there is no reason to assume that this is technically more difficult than anything else, except you'd have fewer role models and more work transcribing and translating.
Ive been aware of Doyle for years but as someone here said it is kind of easy to miss him beside Clapton on stage , which is where i think he is mostly seen by most people. So I was so glad to stumble across this on UA-cam.But here we get to see that he is truly a very unique talent in all respects . It seems he has been playing with most of the big name players for quite some time and yet somehow it seems he does not have the general recognition he so deserves . Hang in there Doyle . Those of us have been able to get to know your great talent are fans for life !
packing a lot of authentic soul here. Love it.
well, I don't care for the keyboard guy too much. Weak link.
Can we appreciate that he's actually playing a right-handed ES as a lefty.. and creating magical noises!
That's just a lefty homie - but he does play it strung backwards.
Lefty & a Heritage H535
Doyle is awesome as usual.. but I'm blown away by singing drummer with the Rob Tyner hairdo
Thats Abraham Rounds, plays with Meshell Negeocello as well. One of the best drummers ive ever seen..👍🏻
Wow what a sweet voice and great harmony too! Looks like he kinda falls out of the groove occasionally!!
Saw him on the Roger Waters tour in UK, with Snowy White, fab gig.
Thats why Im here
Fabulous rhythm guitar player backing him up. Who is he?
The fact that this dude plays the guitar with the strings placed upside down just freaks me out
Jesus, he looks so much younger than he really is
Sobriety
Doyle on the Heritage H-535 guitar!
Doyle, do a duet with Jamie Liddell - you guys were made for each other!
I've followed Doyle from the moment the DVD with Roger Waters came out. He has a great feel and tone... And I'm always amazed how he plays with the guitar upside down, makes my hand hurt just by thinking about that.
Same.
Funny, I remember years back when I had facebook, I was once foolish and send to Doyle friend request and he added me. I even once opened a chat window and he wrote back. I was drunk as hell, otherwise I would not do it.
But it is nice to see that he is doing good. :-))
I think he is down to earth and appreciates his fans..
Just found doyle and loving his stuff.
HAVE MY FEET DANCIN ALL AROUND!!
AS BILLY F GIBBONS SAYS: “IF YO’ DOIN’ ALRIGHT THERE’S NO REASON WHY YOU CAN’T BE DANCING” ..AND THIS GOT ME.. GOT ME HAAARD!!
(BTW THANKS, VIDEO REC AND AUDIO ARE TERRIFIC!! AMAZING SOUND!!)
Enri
Searching for Love is dope... All fresh and clean, but that cut had some special sauce.
love these players that know when to breath ......
I can not get enough of Doyle’s new music! This is fantastic!!
I had known about him for a pretty long time but never gave him an honest chance until 1 week ago. Then i found his newest Album ”Shades” and it is brilliant.
Beautiful. Hearing a touch of Johnnie “Guitar” Watson in the first tune. Love it. Great to hear DBIi speaking on his music and collaborators.
Doyle has always been the coolest cat in town but he takes it up a notch with the addition of the Sly Stone t-shirt in this video! What a stud!!
I dig it! Just becoming aware of Doyle. Really like the intersection of Blues, Old School R&B, and Funk. Nice work band!
Smooth as butter...
Doyle is the man - soul child! I'll be definitely checking him out live soon. This sounds fantastic as well.
Lil Doyle definitely got his blues voice from Big Doyle. Listen to tracks from both of them side-by-side.
Funny but I got a Robert Cray vibe on that second song.
If Doyle Bramhall comes to your town, go see him. He's fantastic live... the whole band is.
HIs album Jellycream is very cool.
Doyle! Your mama can't help you no more!!!!
great songs...
Great band...terrific bass sound!
Can't wait for the album!
Is this Andy Hess on bass? Killer player and sound!!
Tom Blake yes!
@@tomblake4404 Must be Andy Hess?
Fantastic music ❤️ Doyle is a wonderful guitar player and great artist ! Loved 💪🏿
Nice, Doyle has chops and great feel for everything, This is exciting kinda of a 70's vibe
Amazing sound!!! Cheers from Brazil guys... Keep on rocking
his strings aren't in reverse order he is playing a right handed guitar strung normal. that way he can pick up any normal right handed guitar and play left handed
Nope.
That's a left-handed guitar strung in reverse order.
Is he playing a Heritage Guitar?
¡Excelente! Confieso que no me gusta mucho su trabajo con Eric Clapton, pero como solista ¡qué bueno!
Start to love it, it's a bit more intimistic than his previous albums but it sounds really sweet and Doyle seems to be in peace somehow
❤❤❤❤❤
The fucks up with that drum kit?
EADGBE EBGDAE not going to lie This tripped me out for most of the video
Pipes...he's got made pipes
The Heritage 535 is a beauty
Topo Chico ? water?
Love Doyle.....this album is his songwriting best.....
This band has a beautiful & natural flow. Good on Doyle. What a smooth and comfy feel they have. Very chill people. Love it ❤
Hip. Excited too because I play the same Heritage 535 guitar (right handed.) Also, I love that his shirt pays tribute to the chord changes 😉
Bahaha, guitar hero
Fantástic drummer 🙌👍💪🏿
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great stuff, really enjoyed this and fairplay for covering a Dylan song. Nice1
Ok 11:08.... rambling
Love this album!!!!
❤
The best there is today.
Maye McDonald I think Michael Landau is up there too?!
Ian Thomas Duh? Of course!
Ian Thomas How about Gary Clark Jr?
The bassist is so on it grooves !
