I highly commend the NZ Education System for continuing with the Island Cultural Festivals. They have come a long way since being part of it in the early 80s when most of the performers were Pacific Islanders and Maoris, and only a few brave pakehas or palagi kids dared to try, but now it is so awesome seeing them and the Asians singing, performing and reviving these old Pacific Island classics.
Thank you Aotearoa, Dilworth, Diocesan for your contribution to the multi-cultural country New Zealand truly is. Seeing other ethnicities embracing our Pacific Cultures makes us all proud!! Malo, malo lava.
It's awesome that we can get to watch quality performances. Well done to the students, who are not of pacific island descent, a beautiful performance from one and all
Is this a perfect example of cutlural appropriation? Sorry it was a little uncomfortable watching this to be honest. But hey, whatever flys your flock.... literally.
So proud to be Samoan and love seeing kids of all colors embracing my culture!!!!
Tim Kruse same.. tho I do wish they did it in Australia

So beautiful to see non-Pacific people sing our beloved songs.
Hahahaha so true
Wdym non Pacific people? They are just as part of the pasific as we are. We are not defined by our skin colour
@Theuniverse Isaniceplace they do have a choice? they dont have to sing at all
@@louissiddell453 I think they mean non native Pacific islanders. We're all Pacific Islanders sure but not all native.
