Insider, Love Letter, Spicy, Cockroach Poker, and For Sale are all tiny box small table games for a number of people. Beyond that, I always bring a ton of Button Shy games with me for travel and solo play.
At first I thought this was helpful, then I thought it was almost completely unhelpful. Then, I could even guess the M&N #1, somehow! How?! Haha good job.
Hearing that little mention of “Five Three Five” made my heart palpitate. So glad it’s getting some love! It always makes me happy to hear that! Appreciate you all so much. 🙏🏻
When my wife & I are traveling, we usually bring a few games from Gamelyn Games Tiny Epic series or from Looping Games 1800 series. Y’all had some excellent choices though. Thanks for another informative video!
Great video! My favorite travel games are Oh My Goods, Circle The Wagons, Palm Island, Jaipur and Deck Box Dungeon. And I've been wanting Sea Salt & Paper for a while now!
Every Button Shy game!! Tussie Mussie, Rove, Sprawlopolis, and Skulls of Sedlec are always in my backpack. Love seeing all four of you in a video together! #ThinkerThemer
Aqualin! it is cut throat plays in 10 and is always a good yet nail biting time. if you know the dimensions of the board just bring the pieces in a bag and use a piece of paper if the box is too big. but you could fit several other card games into the box with it . ❤ you guys are my faves all 4 of you keep the colaborations coming
Love all four of you guys!! Such a great a video! I love most all these games. I still have not played Biblios! Sea Salt and Paper is a new favorite for me! I couldn’t wait and ordered it from France 😂! I play it a lot on BGA! It was so great to see Amy and Maggie on here! Please do more with them ❤️. You four are the best! When I travel I also take Fox in the Forrest, Sea Salt and Paper and Scout, in addition to Parade, No Thanks, Deep Sea Adventure, Cabo (thanks to you guys!) and several Button Shy games!
Travel Games that always make the cut are Fake Artist Goes to New York, and Deep Sea Adventure. The newest ones to bring are Sea, Salt and Paper, and Hippo. Two other standard travel games include Spicy and Enchanted Plumes. Where and who I'm visiting influences what I bring. For instance, I bring Longboard if visiting family and friends in California (my hometown is Santa Barbara) for nostalgic reasons.
Just watched this the other day and was watching the Dice Tower Gen Con Day 1 vlog a minute ago, and lo and behold there are @thinkerthemer at 9:40. Small world.
Look at this star studded collab. Love you four. Enjoy GenCon. Love the list! Photograph is one that I went out to buy too asap after playing with you at GenCon last yr. But I’ve been hearing a lot about Nana from some friends who were introduced to it at Origins this year. Sea Salt & Paper is one I’m excited to get my hands on eventually as well. BGA will have to do for now.
This video was so fun! I like all y’all. Sea Salt & Paper is my favorite game of the year! I always bring this for traveling and just bought 3 more just in case… Nana is my second most game played this year. It’s so good! We also love Jekyll vs. Hyde, Scout, and Parade. And baby Hive.
Woohoo, proud to call Cole Wehrle our own and glad Amy & Maggie enjoyed Minneapolis. Monique & Naveen you have an open invitation to visit. Great video.
We been playing next station London while we been traveling. We got another family into Cabo from last years travel game recommendations. We love it. Thanks for this years list from everyone. Is great to see the collaboration. I been watching their channel as well after your visit in Japan. #ThinkerThemer
So great to see this collaboration between my two favorite channels, #thinkerthemer and #beforeyouplay. So many great game suggestions. Will come in handy for planning for our Essen trip.
Super excited that you got to collab with #ThinkerThemer - love both of your channels!! Heading to GenCon in two days…hope Amy & Maggie have a fun time :)
Great collab with #ThinkerThemer and #BeforeYouPlay. We have transferred about 30 games into the plastic photo storage boxes so they are super easy to travel with. We love taking Ohanami, Cafe, Enchanted Plumes, Targi, and Fantasy Realms, those give us options of taking the small photo boxes and having variable length of play. I cannot wait for "late September" as I also love Sea, Salt, and Paper and have played a ton on BGA.
Great video, I have a bunch of new games to look into now. It was fun seeing #ThinkerThemer on your channel! My go to travel games include A Gentle Rain (my wife and I play as a team), Roll For It, Zombie Dice, Yahtzee and cribbage. I have Azul Mini and Travel Qwirkle, but haven't traveled since buying them. I usually bring a smaller soloable game or two as well.
I think Hanamikoji is brilliant. Such wonderful tension. It’s always a game that Jess and I take with us when we travel and we’ve played it nearly 70 times.
What a powerhouse collaboration! I’m going to my first GenCon and will be at Unplugged again so if stars align I hope to get a chance to play games with some of you. Thanks for another great video - #ThinkerThemer and Monique & Naveen.
Lovely to see the collaboration of two of my favourite channels... Lovely suggestions...sea salt and paper is my current favourite... It's simple but so satisfying... Love the art on it #ThinkerThemer #BeforeYouPlay
Mostly we bring 2 player games traveling. Beer and Bread, Splendor Duel, 7 Wonders Duel, Targi, Love Letter (so tiny, 4 player), Lost Cities, Point Salad, also Scout (4 player), Azul Travel Edition.
Another great video! Our favourite game to travel with is Battle Line, small box, doesn't require a big table, quick setup and no small pieces to lose. Tons of replayability and strategy involved too! #ThinkerThemer
I have to agree with Amy and Maggie from #ThinkerThemer about the numerous memories I have playing "Fox in the Forest" at an airport with my wife. It is really a cleaver 2-player trick taking game!
awesome collab between two of the best duos out there! love the chemistry with all four of you rolling together, thanks for sharing this! also appreciate the thumbnail with some facemasking (on a travel video esp)... thank you!
Great collaboration between all four of you. I really enjoyed all of the comments and insights that you provided. Please continue to partner on more videos like this, I really enjoy listening to your opinions and the discussions between the four of you. #ThinkerThemer. #BeforeYouPlay.
Loved this collaboration! I'm with with Maggie in loving card games / games with cards - such a simple component but I'm always amazed at what designers can do with them. One of my favourites for travel is Parade (surprised not to see this on the list from Naveen!) It's brilliant at 2 (the rules tweak makes it so tense at the end), and also at higher player counts. Coloretto is also fab, but needs at least 3 players. For solo I like Ragemore from ButtonShy and For Northwood for some solo trick-taking. More of these collabs together please :) #ThinkerThemer #BeforeYouPlay
Great discussion! It made me get the copy of Palm Island out of my backpack and play it during lunch at work! (hadn't played it for 4.5 years) #ThinkerThemer
Love the collab! My whole family and I love all the game recommendations! My hubby and I convinced our parents to join the game night every week!! We will be trying the game for our upcoming cruise trip!! #ThinkerThemer
How is this the first collab on your channel?! Hopefully we will see you guys hanging out with more and more creators! Love both channels here, #ThinkerThemer and #BeforeYouPlay
Thank you very much for a great list! We're traveling soon and this helps. I am now on the search for the game Nana. Both channels are amazing and it's great to see you collab. I hope you guys do more videos together. Good gaming to you all! #thinkerthemer
Loved this video theme. Always enjoy a good portable game for as much as we travel. Hive Pocket, Schotten Totten, and Tussie Mussie are our favorites. #ThinkerThemer
I’ve long said that anything is a travel game if you try hard enough. 😂 Love this collaboration with #ThinkerThemer. Four of my favorites in this video!
Skulls of Sedlec has been our go to but I've grabbed Tussie Mussie (with the solo expansion) and that's just in the bag whenever I go anywhere. #ThinkerThemer
We usually bring a basic deck of cards, love letter, and fox in the forest. But now we see we need to get our hands on some more fun, travel games #ThinkerThemer
i’m relatively new in board games and both your channels have been superb resources for people like us. great lists with new games for me to check out i guess! #ThinkerThemer
We love Not So Neighborly. It has traveled with us since it came in. Its been fun to introduce to friends. I also carry Cinco Linko with us in case we have any littles and are out and about. #ThinkerThemer
What a lovely collaboration video! I started following Amy & Maggie #ThinkerThemer after they appeared in your Japan trip videos and I love watching their videos now too 😍 thank you for the opportunity to enter this giveaway 😊 I would have to add some Button Shy games to my travel list. I would love to get hold of Sea Salt & Paper but its not available in the UK yet so fingers crossed for the giveaway!! 🤞
Great video, I'm going to look some of those up on BGG. My five would probably include Jaipur, Scout, Love Letter, Arboretum and Hokkaido. #ThinkerThemer
Love travel games that are easy to take to play with family and they just tend to be cute sizes. I always love watching your video's Monique & Naveen and can't wait to see more solo gaming content. Love this collab as I am thrilled to find an Aussie Board Game channel! New subscriber, thank you #ThinkerThemer.
Big fan of both channels, for travel, me and my partner usually carry around something from the mint series (mint works etc.) Very compact games. and pretty fun as well. #ThinkerThemer
Interesting games on this list. Didn’t get see through them all. Thanks to @piot for the timestamp. I don’t understand why content creators don’t utilize the video format better. Show the games! Keep them on the screen while you talk about it. It could just be down in the corner. Maybe throw in some image stills of the components. Otherwise it’s just people talking and could’ve just as well been a podcast. Just a pro tip. Other than that. Love your content.
Hi, we appreciate your input/recommendations. The reason why we don’t add more images is because it adds a SIGNIFICANT amount of time when making content. We’re talking potentially half a work day to shoot, file manage, and properly edit them in. (Plus, Amy and Maggie don’t have their games with them as they’re traveling.) You’re right, it’s more like a video podcast and that is sort of the intent. For us, it’s either we do these sorts of videos this way or not do them at all. Thanks!
Every time Splendor is brought up on this channel I eagerly await Monique mentioning how Naveen once won that Splendor competition, which is always followed by him getting jokingly annoyed that she always has to mention it haha. Anyway, great video and the four of you are awesome! #ThinkerThemer
Had such a great time watching this!! 😀 Definitely would love to see more collabs like this in the future! Most the times I travel by car, so half the collection usually makes the trip! haha Sea Salt and Paper is definitely on my gotta try list. #ThinkerThemer
#thinkerthemer some of our favorites to travel with are button shy games, downtown farmer’s market, floriferous, sushi go, silver bullet, jaipur, and coloretto
Great video with #ThinkingThemer now that travel has returned more or less to normal. My travel games generally consist of card games (eg Arboretum, Cat in the Box), or just simply two decks of cards and paperclips that I can also repurpose into other games like Don't Mess with Cthulhu, Skull, etc.
This was an awesome video of travel games - I now have so many new games added to my list to try 😅 It's awesome you opened up the giveaway worldwide 😊 #ThinkerThemer
What are your favorite games to bring when you travel?
Pearls, Dead Man's Draw, Cockroach Poker, Ohanami, Cahoots, Bohnanza Duel
Love letter always
Fuji Flush
Insider, Love Letter, Spicy, Cockroach Poker, and For Sale are all tiny box small table games for a number of people. Beyond that, I always bring a ton of Button Shy games with me for travel and solo play.

Love both your channels. Love all four of your personalities. Great video, very fun and I hope you do more collabs.
Hearing that little mention of “Five Three Five” made my heart palpitate. So glad it’s getting some love! It always makes me happy to hear that! Appreciate you all so much. 🙏🏻

Came here to say both of these things: I second (or third) the Button Shy travel recommendations! And love the shared video with #ThinkerThemer
Love all 4 of you, both canals are amaizing. Thank you
Aw thank you!

Interesting games on this list. Didn’t get see through them all.
Thanks to @piot for the timestamp.
I don’t understand why content creators don’t utilize the video format better.
