- In this video I tried to capture some of the 'behind the scenes' footage of our Superkart Race weekend at Silverstone GP Circuit. I hope this gave you a good insight to some of the highs and lows of a race weekend and how much we love racing!! The new Division 1 Superkart is utterly incredible and words cant describe how insane it was to drive! A huge learning curve for sure! What a fantastic sound, will they ever get forced over to four stroke motors?
There is actually a 4 stroke class however the popularity still sits with the 2 stroke classes! They (in my opinion) are the ultimate Superkart !
Are they all Two stroke engines and are they all the same make of engine 250cc? We used to have the engine in the back and was a 250 cbr Honda four stroke it could do 140MPH but was reliable against the two strokes all were air cooled. Then things began to change just could not keep up. It seams size weight must also had changed and class which is interesting. School Go carts were from 50cc to 120CC shows how long ago that was. What I don't like is the exhaust right next to your leg and engine near your body and arms. I bet as a two stroke it is much faster than 140mph these days and seven gears as we only had four and then five. There was one fitting a 250cc Kawasaki triple two stroke engine in one but I never got to see it if it worked and speed. So glad to see this is going on big time now and I think safer too.
