Gilles Villeneuve died when I was 12. The passion was gone! I should not follow a sport where your idol can die.... especially not for a pre-teen kid certainly. Senna became my new idol when I saw him racing F3 cars in 1984. But it was not the same. I either grew up quickly after Gilles' death or because Senna was not driving for Ferrari. When he died, I was old enough to understand it. Jacques Villeneuve brought some passion back to me even though he drove for my most hated team Williams. It was something about the old Ferrari fans should do. I supported him for a single season against my beloved Ferrari. I became a Shumacher fan after Jacques Villeneuve won that World Championship. It was a closure for me. While Schumacher was great, he also had the best car and was unchallenged for at least two seasons. Then, the sport basically died down. 1:10 The detail here focusing on the gearshift problem, in which he lost gears and had to run only in sixth gear, the effort was so much that he barely managed to lift the trophy on the podium
So looking forward to this series. This scene is legendary. Senna had a 40-second advantage over Riccardo Patrese, but gearbox problems worsened, and Senna had to use only sixth gear in the final laps. But he resisted and won for the first time at home.

Can’t believe it took the film industry so long to make a film about this true legend. In his own words being second just means you are the 1st to lose.. what a great man
For those who are not Brazilian, they don't know who Ayrton Senna is. In Brazil he has the status of a hero, not a national hero but something supernatural. A God of speed and courage. Ayrton practiced charity and hid it from the public because he thought it was wrong to promote himself like that. He was that kind of person. He is much more loved than Pelé. And Pelé is loved too... but Ayrton managed to stay a step higher.
Believe me, the rest of the world knows who Senna was. Even the United States. There were tributes in car magazines when he died. Car and Driver published an extensive article on his last weekend.
Agree 100% with the OP. Senna is above Pelé in terms of popularity and achieved a status in the hearts of Brazilians that no one else will ever be able to match. He made us proud because not only he was competing in an elite sport but winning and being recognised as a force and feared by other drivers. European drivers from rich developed countries whereas Senna was representing all of us Brazilians from a third world country with a poor economy and a weak currency. We were there with him and we were successful. We already had that status in football (at the time anyway) and already had F1 champions (Nelson Piquet, for example) but Senna’s personality and the way he conducted himself on and off the track made F1 explode in popularity in Brazil at the time. You had to be there to truly understand what I mean. We felt really close to him and that’s why his death was so hard to accept. He was (still is) special and by far the biggest and most loved sports person in Brazil. EVER.
I think you underestimate the power of Senna for non-Brazilians. He's the greatest F1 driver of all time and he absolutely transcended the sport like no one before him or after him. There will never be another Senna. With Pele, he forgot his roots. Thought he was bigger than the sport. Was involved in shady business practices so his legacy and image was a bit tarnished. Senna is untouchable.
Senna is a legend! I remember i watch him while i was a kid not knowing who he is i just understand that this car driver is good and i like him to watch. True legend with those old cars not like this cars now that is thousends time easier to drive. No matter how many times someone now will break his records , its not relevant with current tehchonoly and cars.
Ridley Scott, Stallone, and Michael Mann wanted to make a film about him, I don't know exactly why it didn't happen. Michael Mann was developing a movie with Antonio Banderas as Senna, but it never happened, obviously. Stallone spoke with Senna by the phone sometimes, and Ayrton said that he wanted him to play himself in a future movie, Stallone made a movie about racing in the end of the 90's (it's a thrash don't waste your time watching it). Ridley Scott also wanted to direct a movie about Senna, but it never happened, too.

8 years old me cried in that 1st of May that changed everything....you LIVE forever in our hearts Mr. Ayrton Senna❤
Crying. I have chills. I CANNOT WAIT to watch this!!
Wow. Goosebumps all over.
Don't have Netflix but maybe I'll give it a try with this.
Shivers on the arms and tears in the eyes!!!
This scene is legendary. Senna had a 40-second advantage over Riccardo Patrese, but gearbox problems worsened, and Senna had to use only sixth gear in the final laps. But he resisted and won for the first time at home.
My eyes lit up in excitement when I saw it in my recommendations. I've been waiting for this to arrive..
Senna the GOAT ! i cant wait too see this. Hope they do him justice.
I ❤AYRTON SENNA, i WAS THERE WHEN CRASH, I CRY and newer get back to see F1
Bring back the senna documentary and I’ll buy a subscription.

Is it on netflix yet
schumi fan here, this man.... artyon is goated, cant be considered out of the goat debate
I can’t have it. I’m already crying here! I was 15 when he died. I remember the mourning. Lost my biggest idol. My Hero.
Ayrton Senna melhor piloto de todos os tempos!!!
Só não foi melhor que Nelson Piquet...

Still remember as a kid watching that turn
We all cried
This looks incredible. Just two seconds in.
SENNA, The legend!
i’m crying just watching the trailer. can’t imagine how much i’ll be crying watching the actual series. so excited!
Finally I'll remember my happy childhood Mondays mornings. Miss you Senna. Eterno Campeão! 🇧🇷🙌
I'm crying at the trailer.
This is going to be incredible.
Yes, I’m from the us (Texas) and I was born way after his passing in 2000.. and I’m not even Brazilian.. but yet he still has such a massive influence on me and impact in my life. That just goes to show how much more he was than just F1… senna siempre💪🏽🤝🏼
Senna and Dale Earnhardt were both Gods of Racing. They'll never be forgotten.
@@MoniFps SennaSempre. I'm a braziilian and grow up watching Ayrton racing (Obviously my hero), ann because o that watched a lot of Nascar after his passing, and I remember the day that Dale died an it was just like same felling all over again, so awful... almost same thing but for nascar world. miss the intimitador man, that mustache was brutally cool!
he died in 1994 tho
Netflix that's how a trailer should be to promote a series. Very detailed and presented in a new perspective. Incredible and breathtaking.
Not sure, did you hear the iconic engine sounds of that era ? Here sounds very wrong
@@nixdahouse something sounded very 'off' about the engine sound. The car looks fantastic. But the way the driving was shot, for this teaser at least, didn't look great to me.
@@phillydelphia8760 exactly, maybe low budget or no time to complete the scene better
@@nixdahouse maybe that's the case. I do hope so, I really want this to be as good as it can be.
I know it's only a trailer, but why am I crying?
Passion.
1:47 i was waiting the "PUUUTA QUE PARIIIU"
It’s in the Brazilian version of the teaser
Ayrton Senna didn't die, he's just a lap ahead of us..
Faz isso não, irmão
🥲💔
Just teared up...This guy was one of the biggest legends in Brazil.
probably lung cancer too eh
He is. He's considered a national hero in our country.
Ayrton is very well known in Europe.Except United States and some places in Africa he is very well known.
Todo o planeta conhece Senna, só os americanos que não...
The great Ayrton Senna! What an emotion. RIP legend
I can’t wait for this movie! Senna is an absolute F1 legend. Love his car and him
As a Brazilian-American, and MASSIVE Senna fan, this looks intriguing 👍👍
Tô chorando muito, que Lenda é Ayrton Senna.
I'm looking forward to this
You better do this f1 legend proud!
They better. No greater driver
To be honest with you the best Like Senna deserves a motion picture with an amazing script and legendary director.
Brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes! All the years came rushing back.
Goosebumps and tears.
The best driver of all time.
BRING IT ON!! I can't wait to see this!
I teared up. What a legend..
Esse cara era foda 😭😭😭😭😭😭 ídolo nacional
At last a Senna movie, I cried with the teaser, I hope the movie is just as good!!!
It’s a show
Im born in 2nd june 1994 but I have goosebumps everywhere just by this trailer, I wish I had seen Senna's races.
I’ll cry while watching it
Remember Senna ❤❤
Just looking at him makes me goosebump
The gearbox failure 1:11 giving the vibe more dramatic 🔥
