Hey folks - I've just updated my tent categories to a new and improved scoring system, thanks to some useful feedback from viewers. Here's what the updated scores looks like: New Eureka Copper Canyon LX 6 Overall Score: 4.57 (out of 10) New category scores: 1. Setup: 5 (out of 10) 2. Living space: 8 (out of 10) 3. Waterproofing: 5 (out of 10) 4. Wind resistance: 1 (out of 10) 5. Ventilation: 6 (out of 10) 6. Build quality: 5 (out of 10) 7. Features: 2 (out of 10)
Two basic things you can do to GREATLY increase ability to hold up in winds. 1) Get quality stakes designed for various situations. In soft grass like I see here, use thick wide stakes designed for soft ground. Done correctly, this tent will not blow away. Gosh, even the yellow wide inexpensive Walmart stacks will do just fine. 2) Install a 2nd guy line on each corner. There is another loop which makes this easy. You can see the extra loop at the 9:13 mark. So with these mods, you shouldn't have any issues with wind...short of a tornado. This is a very nice, affordable tent.
Agree. I have an older version of the Copper Canyon 4 person tent and with hardier stakes (the stakes that came with the tent ARE junk) it holds up very well. I've been camping a few times in heavy, blowing, rain - including just this past weekend - and the tent never budged nor let any rain in.
Exactly it’s so sad and pathetic how most people only envision a product as the only solution in the current moment they order pizza from a restaurant, but never put any additional spices herbs or seasonings on it or they buy a 10 to full-time camp or part-time camp in treacherous conditions, and they bring no insulation no wind catchers they just go willy-nilly, grab their tents and proceed to be NPCs and then wonder why life is complicated.
I am just seeing this video. I have this same tent. Just in a different color. I can set it up by myself in probably 15 or 20 minutes. I can put two queen size air mattresses in it. I think if i put them closer to a wall. I could probably install a twin air matress. On one camping trip. A guy told me. That i set up the tent very quickly. I told him, that i have done it a time or two.
It's the stakes, they suck. But the tent is $200, just grab a six pack of third party stakes and you're good to go. Love this tent. It's great for warm weather, super studios Spacious and we use it in Florida and it's great with light rain and amazing during the day. Everyone can stand up and there's just too many pros than cons.
Yeah - that was a brain flub on my part for sure. It’s actually 100, I think I ran the numbers in inches or something silly like that. I’ll pin your comment here so other folks will see it. Thanks for letting me know about that!
Thanks! I’m sorry I bought this tent. It’s not easy to set up and had to go back to where I got it to see it when assembled. My 1990 Six Dimensions Dome tent was easy to set up but wore out after 30 years.

Fantastic review and comparison.
Thank you for keeping up on these videos!!
What a great review. Thanks so much!
You can take a large enough tarp with you If you know the weekend's going to be windy And build an Aframe around your tent

Amazing review! How would you compare Eureka’s Jade Canyon to this one, Copper Canyon?
Sorry - I’m not sure, haven’t had a chance to test that one out yet.

Not sure you should penalize the tent for blowing away. Sounds like it wasn't staked properly.

1200 square feet if you include the basement
Twelve hundred square feet of floor area! Slight miscalculation I think.

For people who are tall!
1200. What
1200 square foot lol!
10 X 10 + 100 square feet, not 120 as you stated in this video. FAIL!
