It became worse and just now fell out, exposing the inside of the headset. I’ve had the headset for approximately 1.5 years and have been relatively gentle. I’m not sure how this happened. Fun fact mostly due to the bandwidth single lost. This is a mix of issues but less about the headset and more about what's going on at ur place or area and console... Updating ur firmware might help a little but it's more of less a connection issue from outside just sticks out more with these because well I forget the reason I think with xbox it's how they handle bluetooth
Is the 59 2 year warranty from games top worth it ? 49 for 1 year and about 60 for 2, If you have any issues save the original box and receipt and they will swap it for a brand new one . Is it worth getting it ?
I absolutely hated these. But it could have just been the headset I bought was a dud. It was comfortable but the audio cut out a ton, range was minuscule, and I had to do a factory reset within the first 5 hours of use. Ultimately ended up trading them toward Astro 50’s. No regrets.
I was looking into Astros. Great sound, great mic, but nothing to justify a 300 dollar price tag at this point. While they do have some nice features, they lack the basic features any headset in the price range has, with the main being Bluetooth, and a handy USB c, that everything takes these days. Honestly, if I wanted something where audio is the only focus, audeze is where it's at.
Im confused by your streaming audio issue. Your description wasn't very clear how your PC is connected to the headphones. The ad in the middle didn't help. BT, USB, 3.5mm? To me it sounds like the issue would be with Streamlabs and/or Windows, not the headphones. If you're bluetooth connected to your computer, the headphones won't know or care which app is playing audio, it only knows the one connection to your computer and will play all audio from that connection. So it would be Streamlabs or Windows which is causing the issue. Sounds like Streamlabls is hijacking the audio output in windows, which is why your music (which is presumably playing in a different app) stops coming through. EDIT: based off your description of playing music / videos, it definitely seems like this is a Windows issue, I don't see how the headphones would be causing the issue.
I have found that sometimes different apps in windows use different Bluetooth outputs (stereo or headset/mic), these two different outputs can't be used simultaneously, so if two different apps are using these two different outputs, it'll screw up your output from windows. This usually only happens when the apps are defaulting to the wrong output or windows is. Try manually setting the output on all your apps and windows to stereo bluetooth.
Live streaming and game recording.. Whether through the native Xbox recording or through obs.. Even with chat link... Chat audio will not record. It's driving me nuts.. But I think it's more an Xbox issue
My 9x's have a weird problem. Only certain sounds lag like some specific music or effects. It very weird. If i play the same music or sound trough the bluetooth connection theyre fine. But if the sound come from the xbox's connectin itself they stutter.
I"ve had these a while, for specifically my seriex x, however I ended up selling my series x but kept my PS5, and I still have these, paying 200 bucks for them I want to put them to use, will these work with the PS5 using a dongle or some sort?
Honestly I don't recommend these headphones. Something he failed to mention is it's durability issues. These headsets have serious problem when it comes to durability. I've gone through 2 pairs (paid $400) and both times broke. The design of these headphones has a serious flaw. That flaw is the stereo headcups. These two pc's are held to the headband by a single screw. So this screw is feeling the weight. That's a big problem. Overtime that screw will wear and tear and eventually detach itself from the hinge that holds the headset together. Both times they had this issue. This is a defect. Many videos here on UA-cam show the exact problem. The other problem is Steelseries warrenty plan. You can only return products up to 30 days of purchase. But these issues do not take place till at least a year of use. So you SOL if it breaks and out $200 ($400 in my case). Look for a better headphones. It pains me cause these were my favorite. Love the bluetooth, very comfortable, simplistic connectivity and simple design. Honestly very close to the best headset worn imo. But that durability thing is a big problem and reason I cannot recommend these headsets
Would you recommend these for a none streamer I'd use them on a series x with my phone connected for music, I've currently been cycling faulty headsets from a razer kaira pro turtle beach recon 700 gen 2 plantronics and now the Astro A20 that got uncomfortable quick due to the earpads being crap, I just want a wireless/Bluetooth headset that works with no audio issues
all sounds should should output to default selected sound device. Have you disabled the "Ghost" sound devices? That may solve your problem. Do you use the Xbox dongle or stereo cord? Also, if you've never done a master reset on the 9x I would do that also and ofcourse update the firmware in GG.

I’m confused about your issues. If you’re a streamer and having alert box tone issues, plug it into the capture card via 3.5mm. If you want to hear your friends voices, again, plug it into your capture card via 3.5.mm jack. If you want a wired headset…again…utilize the 3.5mm headphone jack you didn’t talk about….

Possible fix for pc audio issues: plug in an aux cable from the port on the headphones to the pc that’s what i do only thing is that it now becomes a wired headset so moving around freely is not an option any more *Possible* fix for game chat audio to stream: change elgato settings to analog audio instead of hdmi audio and run a aux cable from the elgato to the controller…. This method hasn’t been tested yet as i just thought it about after stream….test hopefully coming soon
That is basically what the elgato chat link cable does and unfortunately it still did not work. Try your way though and let me know if it works! Thanks!
I've always liked arctis..... Was going to get these, but they were sold out and wound up with a ls50x...... Honestly, likely can't go wrong with either, but I'll stick with lucid
I went with the LS50X and after a year the padding on the head band began to separate. Lucid sent me a replacement and after another year it happened again. Now they're out of warranty and Lucid told me to kick rocks. As great as those headphones were, a 1 year shelf life just doesn't cut it.
@Adam Green my pushing started fine a little while longer, and when there was issue, I put it on me playing in a fairly tight area, hitting my head a lot, because I worked on the road, and bounced out off of a truck bunk a lot. Sadly most of these headsets are designed not to last more than a couple years, thanks to junk lithium polymer batteries, which, while they charge faster, they also crap out far faster than lithium ion. I should actually recant statement, because I'm actually looking to upgrade, but it's my likely going to be spending extra to try to get a much longer life, with the nova pro. The only two I can find that use the good batteries, are those, and the bang and olufson.

@Adam Green possibly not, but I wasn't too surprised considering my gaming situation, so I didn't put it on the headset..... my biggest thing is I'm tired of replacing mid to upper end headsets, and i use wireless, cuz too many wires on the road are a nightmare..... also thanks to those batteries they use to keep you buying, every two years, like clockwork...... seems miniscule when the average comes to a hundred a year, but I like my good stuff to last. I'm hoping the novas are the answer to that. I know the steelseries body holds up, due to a friend's 7 plus year old cheap wired still being mint, and the replaceable batteries should do the rest..... might use something for extra hold though, as the easy pop off covers make me a little nervous.

I decided to try the 9x's on my computer WITH the xbox wireless adapter (after finding out Discord Audio + Spotify Music simultaneously without the adapter and using bluetooth only).. and I'm still getting crackling/interference/and dropped connection with the adapter being
Update their firmware
Fun fact mostly due to the bandwidth single lost. This is a mix of issues but less about the headset and more about what's going on at ur place or area and console...
Updating ur firmware might help a little but it's more of less a connection issue from outside just sticks out more with these because well I forget the reason I think with xbox it's how they handle bluetooth
Is the 59 2 year warranty from games top worth it ? 49 for 1 year and about 60 for 2, If you have any issues save the original box and receipt and they will swap it for a brand new one . Is it worth getting it ?
Yeah.. you basically you pay 60 for a free pair 1.9 years later… just break them and bring them in
I absolutely hated these.
Honestly, if I wanted something where audio is the only focus, audeze is where it's at.
how about on movies or videos? is it good also?
Yeah I think they sound great for video and movies
Mine is not loud at all. I'm returning it and getting the new stealth 700. My old 700s are loud
uh oh... anything but the stealth 700s, beyond glitchy.
got it today works rlly good on my xbox series x
Glad to hear it, Works wonderful for gaming, terrible for streaming and youtubers
I am also considering to buy these. No connection issue's? I've been reading quiet a lot of that issue..
My 9x's have a weird problem. Only certain sounds lag like some specific music or effects. It very weird. If i play the same music or sound trough the bluetooth connection theyre fine. But if the sound come from the xbox's connectin itself they stutter.
Fresh out the box, this mic sounds horrible for me on the cod. Do I really need to change settings on a pc to make them sound better!
I"ve had these a while, for specifically my seriex x, however I ended up selling my series x but kept my PS5, and I still have these, paying 200 bucks for them I want to put them to use, will these work with the PS5 using a dongle or some sort?
Will this works on ps5?
I’ve had em for two years if you’re playing Xbox and listening to music they’re perfect bro.
all sounds should should output to default selected sound device. Have you disabled the "Ghost" sound devices? That may solve your problem.
Do you use the Xbox dongle or stereo cord?
Also, if you've never done a master reset on the 9x I would do that also and ofcourse update the firmware in GG.
Unfortunately this did not solve my issue :( I did everything you said
@@DannyOleksy have you opted into the sonar beta?
no I have not. What is that?
@@DannyOleksy
It's the early access program for steel series software competition with like Dolby Atmos or DTS.
It's still in beta but you can use it with the 9X you just have to download the software make an account with steel series opt-in to the early access program and then it becomes available and then all those ghosts sound devices with sonar random on your sound devices you can actually use and it will incorporate them as a virtual surround sound and 10 band EQ.
It does not work. I’ve done it, even with an legato chat link cable. These headphones are not compatible with that. It also has terrible connection issues and randomly disconnects. Overall not great
@@DannyOleksy I am interested with this headset, a few years back i was an amature streamer the reason i stopped just the lack of time but now i want to start streaming again, i always streamed just from the console not connected through a pc. And thats also what i wanna go do again just stream from the console (series X) will i also get the issues you mention in the video around the 5min. timestamp. It would be great if you could give me a an answer before i buy that headset.
Can you tell me if this is compatible for PS5?
There are 3 options xbox,ps, and PC
Is there a steel series that does work for what your trying to do? Trying to find a headset compatible with Xbox and bluetooth compatible for discord chat from my phone or Macbook, as well as compatible with streaming software?
I'm trying to move from my Hyperx Cloud II (which I really love) from a new one, but I still have doubts about which one I should go. Does this 9X works with cable or bluetooth or ONLY bluetooh?
It works with cable and Bluetooth but I wouldn’t buy it. I’ve had mine for 2ish years and recently I’ve been experiencing a crackling sound. No fix has worked yet. For $300 this is the last thing I’d expect. If I were you I’d buy a $120 Astro A20 or higher if you have the cash.
@@Lol-nw6bw Thank you for letting me know! But Astro has only wireless connection right? I'm looking for one that can easily be connected into almost any common device (mobiles/consoles/pc)
@mcesperanca2012 , i know it's been a year, but if you see this comment, im currently using hyperx Cloud II, and i have constant white noise. I want to buy the steelseries arctis 9 do you have white noise? Also, would you recommend them? Thanks
My friends keeps telling me they can barely hear me, using discord on Xbox. Any suggestions on how to fix it?
The only problem I have with them since I’ve had them being just a casual gamer Is that they’re not as ajustable as I’d like them to be
Ahhh, gotcha yeah. I think that’s what the cost is of being able to use both Bluetooth and Xbox at the same time. Little wash ya know
I have the wires they are low sound are they louder with wireless
Did you try touching the bluetooth button once? It's a play pause function, double tap next song, maybe you can solve the problem you are having after the sub alert
Im on xbox series s whats the best sound for warzone
One major problem with these are they brake at the hinges. Mine are just broke there on one side and cracking on the other.
yep. its BS. doubt ill buy steelseries again
You can just use Spotify?
talking about picking up only one output. Why not just route everything thru voicemeeter banana would that help? That is what i use. And i use streamlabs obs. Ear trumphet also on pc. Dont have these headphones but this may help.
Do anyone have this problem if you call someone and someone picks up or voicemail start 1sec before you hear a high beep sound it really hurts my brain please if anybody has it two please tell and maybe you know a fix. I googled yted i cant see any body talking about it ps it only happens with phone bluetooth im on the arctis 9 wireless.
btw i dont know if it helps but i opened a game spotify and yt all worked together non stopped
Mine work really well but all the time they disconnected then no sound than crackles and popping than no sound for ages
I just use strictly for Xbox and like you said, work perfectly and amazingly comfortable
i just got them, do you know why sometimes in a party with friends it randomly cuts out to where u cant hear them for some reason?
@@konarhill8992 only time I’ve ever had any type of issues is when the battery starts getting low, it will cut out here and there. Does it do it when they are fully charged?
@@swaggerjacker1482 yes , but from watching videos i figured it out, thank you for the help tho
Yup! Glad you agree!!
@@konarhill8992 what was it do you know?
Thank you
No problem! Glad to help!
Switched from turtle beaches 700 and 9x are not that good at all I play on ps5 maybe better for PC
HOW DO U CONNECT THESE TO THE XBOX
it’s all wireless
Nope the most annoying thing is, if I have Xbox/pc on together a stupid notification sound keeps pinging thru the headphone from the pc. If I just have Xbox on it doesn’t do it…also the range is crap
i just really like the design. if anyone knows any headphones similar to this one thats affordable and good quality please let me know-
Do you know how to fix the mic on it I got mine today and when I joint my friend ina xbox party he said the mic sounded bad like i was talking through a radio I’m not sure if it’s just my headset or not
Just make sure you have the right settings on Xbox audio
Worst build quality ever wasted $200 only for the left hinge to break 9 months later after careful use. Also the hinges on my arctis 7p+ have started to become loose too. Recently bought a Turtle Beach stealth 700 gen 2 max to replace them. I would never recommend steelseries cheap plastic overpriced products. Hopefully the turtle beach last longer.
I’ve had 2 and both have busted in the same way, my earphone both break and crack and it’s no fault of my own
Did they both break right where the volume knob and headset hold together ? Im having this issue
May i use this headphone for ps5 ?
no just xbox
I've had the worst experience with this headset first they wouldn't unconnect from my Xbox, then I finally got them to connect to my pc then something inside was loose and rattling around, then sometimes they randomly disconnected and then I tried to connect back to my Xbox, and that didn't work and now they haven't connected to my pc for more than 30 seconds before disconecting.
THANK YOU for the honest review, I always see all these top 5 reviews for headsets and they are so bs and only talk about the positives.
Honestly I’ve had 2 pairs and they are kinda bad I’ve had problems with them all rn my problem was that when I was wearing a them the audio went strait to like a buzzing sound and it won’t stop I’ve already tried every thing I’m pretty sure I think they literally just broke
Can these be connected to a iPad via Bluetooth for discord while giving out Xbox game audio at the same time
Yes I dont see why it would not work. Any 1 Bluetooth device connection with Xbox at the same time would work fine
@@DannyOleksy is there any way for you to test it for me? It’s alright if you cannot. Like be in a discord voice chat with friends on mobile and get in game sound from the Xbox
I’ve used these for 3 years for someone with a big head the metal parts that holds up the head phone itself the plastic on the left side near the volume plastic breaks it’s broke on my twice just a warning for people with big heads
Do they have a warranty?
@@natefletcher6311 not to my knowledge no
I have had a pair for almost 2 years. Tons of connectivity issues and the audio is meh. I wouldn't buy these again. If you walk away to far you have to reset them or they won't resync. Directional audio is poop. If you play esports, these aren't for you...
I want them to make phone calls while I play. Will I be ok with that?
You should be okay with that.
loved mine, but im on my second pair and both of them have broke at the ear cups. horrible design
sorry that happened to you!
Anyone having issues with the elgato chat link cable? I can hear game and party chat fine, my mic has no sound
Yes mine did the same exact thing. Just won’t work
i just dont have a pc and i stream and xbox has just blocked voice chat in general now god knows why but if you have a pc and you stream if you want people to hear voice chat you do need an elgato
That's crazy man. Hopefully you're able to hear them clearly on elgato.
I was so excited to get this headset. But now I hate it because of it disconnecting. So I am sending them back. They still haven't solved them problem with them. And really, for the price that they are still asking for them. Xbox should pull their license from steelseries
That's unfortunate.. U should jsut get the same headset but another pair might just be defective. I've had mine for 3 years and it's absolutely amazing.. Steelseries is awesome.. It's really unfortunate u got a defective one because this headset is killer my man. Give it another try trust me.
@Trisztan Horvath I am getting the steelseries arctis nova 7x. If this one is no good I am done with steelseries
Possible fix for pc audio issues: plug in an aux cable from the port on the headphones to the pc that’s what i do only thing is that it now becomes a wired headset so moving around freely is not an option any more
*Possible* fix for game chat audio to stream: change elgato settings to analog audio instead of hdmi audio and run a aux cable from the elgato to the controller…. This method hasn’t been tested yet as i just thought it about after stream….test hopefully coming soon
That is basically what the elgato chat link cable does and unfortunately it still did not work. Try your way though and let me know if it works! Thanks!
id love to watch this IF MY HEADSET WOULD TURN ON
I've always liked arctis.....
@@williamkramer9731 I don't think it was anything you did. Neither of the pairs I had have ever traveled. They stay in my den, on a shelf when not in use. I've always taken care of them, and even bought my wife and kids their own headphones so they wouldn't mess with mine. Yet both pair, did the same thing in almost the exact same amount of time.
@@williamkramer9731 I feel you there(re: wanting your stuff to last) I just ordered the 9x's since everyone seems to agree the steel series are good AND hold together. Fingers crossed!

These are a complete farce. They seem nice but the software is from 2001, and it disconnects again and again. Turning them off and on takes up to a minute. These are not worth 200 dollars, they should be 60 bucks. I bought Raycons and I'm never going back. Steel series thinks y'all are suckers for buying these.

May need to upgrade the software... lol
Oh wow, I did not know that. Thank you for letting me know!
So let’s say you’re someone who has a big boy job and doesn’t pretend they’re gonna make it big on yt or twitch like every other virgin here in mommas basement does, and just wants a good headset for gaming that also connects to your phone. If I’m that person, these are great right?

I’m about ready to smash this fucking headset into the wall next to me. The headset has horrible audio lag/connection issues. Sometimes the headset just straight up disconnects out of fucking nowhere. Yes it’s comfortable and the sound is good but half the time the sound is extremely laggy. Also makes it’s so the people in your party can’t hear you speak as well, they hear your voice sounding like robotic and staticy. Joke of headset especially since it’s $200 and made for Microsoft….
