Amazing rendition of that timeless metal anthem! Also, given that you used a backing track without guitars, we can hear how solid your playing is. Very solid, clean, powerful. The only downside is that you didn't do the whole track hahaha. Was it hard to figure out how to do the sounds at 2:09? Oh and Reaper rules!
Thanks a ton mate. The backing track does offer quite a unique way to do covers, but it also requires that much more time to plan and record the tracks! Might do the rest of it sometime, as I can just put this video in the middle of it, and play the remaining part. Yeah yeah, bit of cheating, but what the hell :p It wasn't too hard. I just went after where I normally do the harmonics with the whammy-bar, and tested a bit with pinch-harmonic positions. I've somehow made my whammy-bar for this guitar disappear, so I had to find another solution... Indeed one of the best, cheaper DAW's around! And the plugins that come with it is amazing by them-selves too!
No set time. Focusing on one aspect like that is nevee a thing I've really done. Focus on playing music that you like. Try to focus on, why did I fail that part. My advice is, never let anyone tell you how to do it. Sure get advice, but in the end, figure it out for yourself I never pay much attention to my little finger. But more every motion of the hand. Less is always more. Very ambiguous, bur true.. :)
finally found this cover again years later! so good

How long did it take for you to get control over your pinkie? What's your recommendations for learning to use it effectively?

My first guitar bought in 2009, a Washburn WM17V.

Best cover ever!
U should switch to neck pickup on the harmony like the james and kirk do.
Nope. Doesn't sound right at all for these pickups.

Super, très belle interprétation de ce classique!
Et en plus il joue sur washburn !!
