The mini pre-stacking of Holy power before popping crusade, and the swift divine toll to climb fast to 10 stacks, genuinely helped me hit duellist tonight and execute pretty deadly bursts. A simple tweak on my burst had a big impact on my rating... Thanks for the guide. ❤ Retrimania!

Sick bro. That was such a great tip about stacking holy power before using crusade in order to maximise time with it on 10 stacks. I don't know why I didn't think of it before I see you do it. In this video tho you did your first Templar just before you hit crusade 😅😅 otherwise you woulda been 10 stacks after your divine toll Templar and started bursting quicker

Positioning, dealing with casters, how to workaround the lack of MS, pvp talents against certain comps, our best comps, efficient cd trading, understanding of win conditions and exploiting enemy mistakes. Your help would be much appreciated. We dont need a fancy video, just you talking on some subjects would be more than enough❤. Thank you in advance.
Im running 4 set with more Haste and 3 holy power TV and I find it actually really nice to play tbh

Have you ever thought about making like a ret/dh arena guide? me and a buddy are on the glad grind right now but we have hit a wall around 2200 rn. im curious what the difference is between our gameplay and yours. Keep up the good work man!
I haven't really played the comp enough to feel confident enough to make a guide on it. I've only really played it a handful of times. In the future if I feel more confident in it, I'd be down.

Just a question, what the sanc macro exactly did ? Auto focus the healer in arena ?
Yeah it makes it so you san your healer in arena. So you don't have to constantly change things when playing shuffles.

Nah I use 123 macros for both. I think either that or focus macros are the most efficient way of using them.

What do you think about the Consecrated Blade, Consecrated Ground, Hallowed Ground build? I like it because I feel like I get more uptime and I can kite a little bit better vs some classes. I know it's a raw DPS loss, but it's one more way that I feel like I can help my team, either by helping myself survive longer by kiting melee through the Consecration, or by slowing enemies down to help my teammate, or to slow enemies that are trying to pillar me or my teammate, etc. My logic is that it adds one more dimension to the game in which Ret can outplay the enemy, that they didn't have before, at least in certain situations. Also it can help your teammate increase their DPS in an indirect way, by keeping the enemy slowed and in LOS for that extra global or two for your teammate to pop off. And it just sort of makes the enemy panic and press an extra gap closer that they might otherwise not use, or switch off of you out of frustration, which can change the complexion of certain matchups. That's just my theorycrafting anyways. Love your channel.
Ok so cool idea, but you lose a lot getting it. In order to get both consecrated blade and consecrated ground you'd need to drop an essential talent. The slow could be decent but into a lot of specs they just have so much free mobility that it really doesn't do enough. It could still be decent sometimes, but I really don't know what you'd wanna drop to get it is all. Also for the most part I think this build only really works when playing double melee into a team where your training a caster or healer. Ranged teammates for the most part really won't get the benefit from it unless they are standing on top of the kill target.
@@Yuouji What I do is, I drop Empyrean Legacy (20 sec internal CD for a 25% DS isn't that strong but that's just my opinion) and go Consecrated Ground instead, and then you can drop the +10% crit to Judgment talent, which hurts a little bit but I don't think is essential, and go Consecrated Blade. The general idea is that the raw DPS loss from those 2 dropped talents is made up with an increase in uptime for you and your teammates, as well as perhaps saving yourself a defensive CD by simply being able to kite away from damage easier, and saving Freedoms as well. Basically, you will always have the movement advantage while standing in it. It's basically like another 10 second slow dispel, on top of slowing the enemy. 50% slow is nasty, especially with how big it is. Casting a Consecrated Ground at ranged onto an enemy healer who is trying to hide behind a pillar can be devastating for the healer as they try to get into LOS of their teammates. Another example, you can slow melee enemies from far away as they're trying to train your hunter teammate, so now you're hunter doesn't have to use a defensive because they can't connect, now your hunter can stand and freecast and pump DPS instead of sitting in a Turtle, not doing DPS. An interesting tradeoff for dropping Emyrean Legacy and +10% crit to Judgment, right? At least worth considering. And in 1v1's on pillars, it completely changes Ret's ability to play on a pillar by itself, and can enable your entire team to move together freely around a pillar, either chasing or running away. I would maybe only use this vs melee comps so you can drop Blessing of Spellwarding for Hallowed Ground (or, you could just not go Hallowed Ground at all if you feel like you don't need it. IMO it's the least important part of this Consecrated build, but can be nice vs some classes.) But as you say, it's useful against ranged perhaps too. I just like this build because I feel like I can help myself more in SS, and I don't really have good players to play with in rated, so it helps there, too. Also, I go 2 charges of BoJ too, but that's just preference, and maybe not optimal or necessary since Consecrated Blade has a 10 sec internal CD. I think in 2's this build could be viable and shine, since Ret doesn't really have a slow. Obviously you know what you're talking about, so I'm not trying to tell you what to do :) Just fun to theorycraft. I've seen Lvladen use it last season in some situations.

Thanks for the guide man! Just got my first time a paladin to 70 and was very helpful. One question I have is about consecration, should I use it? Because i know there's that talent that blades apply it but I've seen only used on pve, cheerss
Uhh the consecration on blade of justice can be decent sometimes for aoe damage. But I don't think the damage is worth getting ever personally. And outside of that you really never press it since you pretty much should always have some other better button to press instead of it. Only use is in the opener to try and get rogues out or something like that.

I'm not actually sure, I don't see why you would need it tho. It's just the macro I yoinked form somewhere and know works.

Hey, great guide but why does every AWC ret pala play with the legendary weapon + 4 set + crit vers ring if it's that bad ? Are they just yoloing it or is there real value ?
I'm not super sure honestly lol, so for crit rings make sense since you can get omega vers and be super tanky, but I have no clue why they would ever go 4 set. It's terrible imo. Maybe they wanna get as much crit as possible since they are already committed to so much from the pve gear.
huge question king 🙋🏽♂️ could you run cleanse toxins into shadowplay or even assassination rogue/unholy dk? playing cupid and we are getting better at beating shadowplay but assa/dk is still spanking us.
Into splay it can be pretty good to get DP. Into assa dk though it doesn't really matter as much since they can easily reapply their dots.

Hey I have a question, as a ret pala should i focus on what stats ? vers , mastery or haste ?

so i actually love new new 4 set stats tho im still running 2 set at the momment with crafted chest allied generosity with vars buff i love it works well but i love everything because of more crit like with legendary weapon my haste is high and crit at like 20% prolly 25 when i switch 4 set i be bombing people and on talents i never once rocked seal of alacrity i always play divine purpose and people be scared to lose vars but last season i turned into a monster when i rocked 4 set with double mastery and the fyrakk legendary helps me keep rouges out of stealth too it last 14 secs and goes through cloak and all that love they be stuck dont know what to do but yea i run no mods and do my own thing and still go about 20 25 games positive each season so not bad rank one worth just aint got rank one mmr or cr so rewards still hard at times
Why is nobody using "Vanguard of Justice" in combination with "Boundless Judgement" and "Holyblade". For me its hard to get exactly 4 Holypower and like you have said it feels really clunky, since i am used to the 3 Holypower spec
So, you always play holy blade because you already get blade of justice resets from art of war.
As for boundless judgment, honestly I haven't really tried it. It could actually be decent. Especially during divine resonance you could get insane hp generation. It might feel super clunky tho since you really wouldn't have buttons to press a lot of the time. I'll try to test it out next time I q tho. Because it might not be bad since you really don't wanna press judgement if possible.
why we flash of light mid rotation im new to ret. like i know it heals u but does it do somthing else ?
So it's kinda just the button you press as a filler when everything else is on cd. I like to throw it in under rotation so people remember to actually press it, since it's a lot better to flash than just wait for your next button to come off cd.
yo. how would a bop and bubble macro look like i cant get it to work. only bubble go of then bop dot after the debuff is gone ofc
So what exactly do you want it to do?
Make a macro so when you press this button it casts bubble, but when bubble is on cd you cast bop?

I do something similar where I have my cancel bop macrod into my bubble. But the only problem with having them all in one button is there are situations where you’d want to bop before bubbling. This kinda makes it so your forced to bubble first and the use your other cds after or vise versa. I personally recommend having a separate bop button.

I haven't played S4 at all except for one day like 2 days after start and I haven't played since. Iono if I'm gonna renew my sub to play S4 or just wait but i'm running 0 set again lol. 1-3% overall damage on Expurg aint worth it. It's not fun to play around and the damage is negligible. I'd rather have Divine Aux or Ex Will.
on a similar note, if Expurg gave a charge of hp every other second, it would be amazing to play. It's just a boring talent to me that does afk damage which is inconsequential to how ret plays. Ret is a burst spec, at least this version of it and historically.
on another note, I also like using Wake second global of crusade because it will guarantee I will have a 2nd Wake available toward the end w/ max stacks.
So the expurgation damage doesn't really matter, your mainly using for the wrathful sanction damage. Which actually can add quite a bit. It just technically makes your judgement do an extra 20-30k damage. Which can be pretty significant during divine toll goes.
@@Yuouji last season it was never more than 5% of my damage, not sure if it got buffed but I literally didn't notice a damage drop off at all from 0 set > 2 set. I did notice a damage diff w/ 4 set but was also significantly squishier.
On the 1 minute go, what buff are we trying to get 10 stacks?
That was more for when you have wings, on the 1 minute go it's just do the same rotation just without wings.

Human or dark iron. Humans better into most matchups since you get a 90 second trinket, but dark iron is really good into assa rogues, ferals, and sp's.
