We went a few years back and a quokka came in the restaurant and started drinking wine!
Where did u put the bike when not cycling in the beach etc.?
Rotto is one of the prettiest place I’ve ever been to, recommend bringing a snorkel as well because there are so really pretty corals and fishes! I always look forward to going there every year, also please DONT touch the quokka’s or feed them because it makes them very sick. Take selfies just don’t touch them. But 100% recommend going💕
I have no plans to visit Australia any time soon but this video was so well done and fun and informative that now I want to go to Rottnest Island! Although I am terrified of boats so maybe I'll have to swim XD
You can also catch a plane there. Every year there is the Rottenest Swim though, so it is possible to swim to Rotto.
Good Luck with swimming there, it’s 30km! 😂
But it is so pretty and I recommend staying for a night because it’s so worth it!
Quokkas are just the most adorable thing in the world.
I agree
I love these videos. Super clean, well edited. Nice variety of shots, constant good advice, funny and relevant, engaging and intriguing. So glad I subscribed :)
I’m so glad you did too! Thanks so much ❤️❤️
That quokka looks like a happy cat being patted, although I didn't know we could touch them
johanna ruth By law you can't - you can get fined up to $1000 for doing so.
@@GeirFriestad Yeh but noone upholds it if your not being harmful, feeding them however is a whole different story. You will get it trouble for that, unless its a leaf or something natural they eat. I stay there every year it's awesome, but boat rides can be brutal sometimes lol.
I was lucky enough to live and work on rotto for 9 weeks while on my working/holiday year and it was just perfect! If you can, spend the night (or a couple of nights) on the island, it is so nice and quiet when all the day trippers have left, proper paradise! There is a hostel on the island, but be sure to book ahead. ❤️❤️❤️
@Michelle Kendall I normally book 1-2 weeks in advance, never had a problem except summer ofcourse but summer is too packed anyway.
Loved this video! Reminded me of my trip to Rottnest a few years ago - we had lunch in Salmon Bay which as you said was a perfect stop before tackling the hill to the lighthouse! And the quokkas are the best!
Such bliss!
I'm Mexican and I'm in love with Perth and all the surrounded areas, it's just amazing, I hope one day I can live there ♥️
As a person living in Perth I’m very happy that people all around the world love it.😊
Ahh I'm moving to Perth in August and this has made me so much more excited!! Can't wait to check out this gem asap x
Woooop 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️
If you can, it is best to spend a few days on Rotto. There is accommodation available and it is the perfect place to really, really relax. My family go there every year at Christmas time and stay a few days so that we can relax and avoid our extended family.
“There we have, lonely Tish, who is likely doing a pee, in the sea.” 🌊 🤤 🤣
Brilliant video 👍 My family and I are staying in Perth in October, this looks like a fab place to day-trip too. 😀
You're not supposed to touch them. It's illegal. You can be fined up to $2000. If you go back, or if any of you visit, please keep this in mind.
You seem lovely, but it’s really important not to touch the quokkas - as all of the signs say - as it can affect their health. And again, you seem like a nice person, but ignoring the signs about riding through the pedestrian area between the shops is pretty obnoxious.
Hey, if you go and see quokkas it’s actually best not to touch them becuase it can actually hurt them. The oils on our hands can sometimes burn them.
I'm currently trying to plan a surprise day trip to Rottnest for my boyfriends birthday, I had no idea what to do when we got there and this video has helped me soo much!! I'm going to try and follow in your exact footsteps, it looks like the perfect day :) THANK YOU!
Wow, this looks incredibly beautiful! Can't wait to get there ourselves! Thank you for taking us along and for all the effort you put in your videos :)
Always a pleasure 😁❤️
Spent a couple of days on rotto a few years back and man is this making me want to go back. Gorgeous island - do not miss the boat ride there though! 🤢
Clarkey4boro ye when I went the boat ride back was during a storm
I live in Perth and I’m going to Rotto tomorrow
can I just say it's sooo cute how you slowly adapt the Australian accent ❤️🇦🇺 x
😂🙈 I swear it’s an accident
Such a gorgeous place! Really want to go back to Aus ... And while I'm pushing the age limit on the WHV, I just found out that I'm probably eligible for a 2 year skilled migrant visa ... 👌😁
those beaches were beautiful and your video shows them off well! White sand and crystal blue water...awesome! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see more of Perth!
Ohh I want to go there so badly! 😣 Can you believe that I almost moved to Perth (from Belgium) with my family a few years ago?? Sadly it didn't go through (there was something wrong with the working contract my dad got offered), but watching this video makes me want to live there so badly!! It's currently freezing here in Belgium and seeing you running around in the sunshine makes me long for summer! Great video though for when I'll eventually make my way down there, have fun! ;) x
Omg no way! That would’ve been incredible😱 Well hopefully you will get to visit one day ☺️
Backpacking Bananas I know right?? I remember being absolutely devastated when I heard that the deal was off (think I cried quite a lot for a few days, I was sixteen at the time 😅), but I've promised myself that I will go there one day! ☺ X
Wietske Janse can you maybe get a working holiday visa?
Danica Christin yes that's the plan for when I eventuelly go, but I need to finish uni first ;) x
That place looks beautiful! I'll have to take a trip there during my whv!
My wife and I are going this year. Good information. Not interested much in beaches, but the wildlife looks most interesting. How long does it take to bike around the whole island, if you never stopped? I know different people go different speeds, but I am trying to get a rough idea,
Don't touch the quokkas!
No mention of the aboriginal grave sites or the slavery and brutality that happened there? No,just tourist being tourists 😓
People who want to learn about it will learn about it. People who want to enjoy will enjoy.
That looks so, so, so damn beautiful (the video and the actual island itself)!
It’s incredible!
How does someone dislike this? It's Rotto...
😂😂 ikr
Nice video. I've got to visit the most "rottenest" island someday. So far I've only been to the right side of Australia. Getting to Perth all the way from California is a lot of time to be stuffed in an airplane. :(
Thanks for the wonderful video. I will be going in early Oct on a weekend. Will the place be crowded then , considering it is still quite cool? I hope it won't be too deserted to cycle alone round the island?
I'm foreigner. How i can go to this rottnest island from city of perth? What is the harbour name to get the ferry?
You can catch a ferry to Rottnest, either form Perth or Fremantle. It's cheaper from Fremantle, and it's not too expensive, to park your car for the whole day, near the ferry in Fremantle. You can buy the tickets on line. I went about two years ago. I think, it cost about $50 Australian, for the return ticket, and that included the cost of the bike hire on the island and parking your car in Fremantle for the day. Prices may vary according to the time of year. November to January, is the busiest period. Late March or early April is best, as long as it's not during the Easter weekend.
Ooooh I want to go there sooo bad :)
😁🙌🏼❤️
You should and you also need to go to Cape Le Grand in Esperance while you are in WA. It is well worth the longgg drive as it showcases the top 3 beaches in Western Australia. It is really unique and so picture like and better than Rottnest beaches.
Unfortunately in Western Australia, to see the most best beaches you have to go so remote and drive more than 6 hours from the Perth city to get to them!
If you end up going, I suggest you stay for a few days. There is a small hotel, there is "The Lodge" or you can get a little house which is perfect for a family of for more people, it is very simple but it is comfortable. There is also a hostel called Kingstown barracks which are dorm rooms with a big kitchen and dinner made. My family stay in one of the little houses every year for Christmas for a week and it is so beautiful and peaceful. The best thing about Rotto is that there isn't much you can do there other than swim, snorkel and laze around on the beach so if you ever need a break from the world, it is perfect. You are also basically guaranteed a beach to yourself because there are so many beaches it is just a matter of cycling far enough.
I so wanna go back to Rottnest, went there back in 2007 and did the bus tour, a packed minibus on a hot day was a bit of a mistake.
I said friends after i went that its such an amazing place that if i were to propose to someone special on Rottnest is where i'd like to do it.
Very beautiful island.
PLEASE DONT TOUCH QUOKKAS….Touching quokkas can make them sick, spread disease, and even cause mothers to abandon their young if they carry an unfamiliar scent! PLEASE help this precious species
Thanks so much! Great advice
So helpful! Thank you I’m just booking my Rottnest day trip!! ❤️
It’s honestly so nice to see you going to all these places that I love so much ❤️ haven’t been to Rottnest in yeaaarsss but watching this makes me want to go back again. It’s easy to forget when all the beaches are just on our doorstep !
I would highly recommend staying over it’s such a beautiful island you need two days to really explore
This was so helpful thank you!
Pleasure! 😊
I’m from Perth and I just wanted to say your review of Rottnest Island was great! 😊
I took out a ton of photos I have from my days at Rottnest. One of being right at the beach you are on
God I miss Rottnest. I am so going there like in the 1st two weeks I get back to Perth.
Blowing a gale not game
To people watching the video - please don’t touch the quokkas like shown on this video! You’re definitely not supposed to do this!
We stayed overnight. When those quokkas start moving fast at night and you can't see them it's terrifying. When they stampede those little guys hop at close to head hight at 30km/h in pure darkness.
Thank you that you made such video!! It will hopefully help me when I go to rottnest Island! I just loooooooove this video! It makes me so happy and excited 💜
Yay! Hope you have the best time ❤️
I just went to rotto yesterday
Great video. Very informative. Thanks
What an overcrowded place, ruined by tourism
Are there bikes that accommodates more persons like toddlers/elderly?
We planned to visit 24/03/20 but Covid 19 put a stop to it,next year ???
Before going to Rottnest, please educate yourself about the history of the place and respect it.
Awesome video, thanks :)
Looks Bliss wish was there its showing bitter grey and blowing a game horrid here in uk
I’ve heard there is lots of snow! 😱
I thought you can't touch the quokkas. Has the rules changed?
I feel summer through this video even though it's winter
What was the name of the beach where the dunes were please?
There food trucks on the way, selling soft drinks and sweets
Really cool video!
❤️
Thnks so much me and my friends r going we were scared about what to do
How to go there from Perth? How to book and from where?
The rays in Rottnest Island are called Eagle Rays
Beautiful.
And the video is also good😉
Nice video. love the format and music.
Little salmon bay is my family’s fav beach
Bucket list much. :-D
🔥🔥🔥
Are you allowed to touch the quokkas?
Not supposed to pat the quokka's. But they are cute.
I’m loving that your sister is getting really involved in the videos 😁 love the videos as usual 😁
Thanks Connor ❤️ she’s loving it 🙈
You are not supposed to touch the animals there.
Donrt forget shark prodd on that list
Did you mention the airfield? lol

I must go this summer 👍👍🧡🧡🇦🇺
I'm headed to Perth for Christmas, hopefully I'll make it to Rottnest!
This animal is so special and so cute. I like the mixture of kangaroo and rat it's quite cute.
I have to travel to this island. I like the blue water.
Thank you very much for this video. 🙏🙏
Great video! Thanks for the tips.
❤️❤️❤️
saunuole, tik i prieki , bet buk atsargi, saugok save
I went there last december and let say, is a top touristic place in the world, similar to caribean and south pacific (beaches are even prettier than bali). Is a must! I recommend staying there 2 days, first day to go cyclying and other Adventure Sports and the second just enjoying yourself on the beach and relax, use the bus to visit more beaches. Btw, Australia should do way more promotion to this place.
I made friends with this girl that lived at Rottnest island and I felt super sorry for her cause there is only 8 people at the school there...
So excited watching your videos. OMG!!! Can I ask you about the ferry fares and bike links to the website where you got the tickets ? Please please please ... 😃
Excellent highlights of Rottnest 🤗
Thank you 😊
Haha... they are just like pikachus... my friend is going to look weird at me for sure haha
I am very excited because in our high school next week we can go onto Rottnest for our school trip
Is there a lot of riding around the island, if so is it possible to walk if you’re not a confident rider?
yep there is heaps of riding, the island is 11km in length and the ride around the island takes 3-5 hours. It would be pretty hard walking because it's very hilly but there are some good walking trails too! Also a bus thats i think $20 a ticket but you can use it the whole day
hi christianne, i was wondering have you been on a huge roadtrip in the USA? if you have can you tell how much should i budget for it.
I loved parakeet bay. I have a picture of me standing at the top of those dunes.
Great video! Rottnest Island is absolutely stunning! I have posted a video on my channel about things to do in Perth and I recommended a day trip to Rottnest! Definitely not to be missed!!
Thank you for the video, this has so much information to prep me for the trip.
Quick question: for the snorkeling at salmon bay, are there any shops/station to rent the gears? Or do I have to bring my own googles as snorkeling?
Thankkssssss
