Originally ordered by the Finnish company Viking Line to serve between Sweden and Finland but due to several issues between the Viking Line and the shipbuilder the concept was cancelled and the ship was finished by another company after several years of uncertainty. Named Villa de Teror she entered service around the Canary Islands for some time before being sold to CTMA. Ironicly this ship was ordered by Viking Line to replace their veteran ferry named Rosella which originally based on the same design of the ferry Aurella which later became the CTMA Vacancier. The later one served between Montreal and Iles de Madeleine for many years and served as a relief for both Madeleine I and later Madeleine II for a few years until last year when the Vacancier was sold for scrap after 50 years of service. "The Viking that was supposed to replace the older Viking ended up serving along with a former Viking" 😄
