This was such a cute video. Happy Anniversary ( belated.) . Even though you said that its not a " homesteading " video, in some ways it is, I think for people to " homestead " there has to be passion, there has to be team work, there has to be compromise...the same things that make a great marriage.

Damn. I'm not one to care much about other people's private lives. I have zero interest in celebrities and rumors. But watching your journey has given me such a wonderful perspective about things I never knew I would enjoy learning about. Seeing you being human, first and foremost, and seeing you sharing your strengths as well as your failures and weaknesses, have been a surprising joy. I think in the face of the bleak times we live in, seeing this side of everyday people has been lovely.

I really enjoy your videos. The two of you alongside your kiddos too. Have become a part of my husband and my life. Look forward to watching your children and family grow. Much better than any tv show you find on tv. I prefer true stories anyway. Thanks

Happy late anniversary guys!! You've been married for 14 years as of 2022! Congratulations! That's absolutely amazing! My 1st marriage lasted 15 years, until I found him cheating. Lol 😆 but my current hubby, we've been together 5 years, married for a year. Newly Weds. Lol I love how brutally honest you guys are! Your just yourselves and your not fake, I absolutely love it. I feel like apart of the team! And your great at putting the content together, keep up the great work.
We finally made our 1st video, smh. After I got off work one day when I was looking all exhausted and whatnot, and we didn't edit it, we just left the camera roll. It's on propagating plants. I definitely need to get a camera and a computer. Cause well our videos wouldn't be crap then. 😂
I got married twice, my 1st marriage was a huge wedding inside of a huge church stain glass windows, beautiful huge dress, him in a tux, 20 Grand in debt. My 2nd wedding, it was just me and my hubby and his parents and a few friends, next to a private pond, I got a cheap used $25 dress, my hubby wore a suit, and we went out to a buffet afterwards. Very simple very small, only cost me 125 bucks, if I had to do it all over again, I never would of had the huge wedding, a completely failure financially and other ways. Anyway love your guys love your story, keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing, 4 years ago lol
Drive and passion is extremely important! Example my god given mission, that I don't want, is to privatize the funding for welfare. And my drive for that is huge. I want to take that burden off of the tax payers all across the us. So of course I started a nonprofit organization called welfare tax relief program. And we're currently accepting donations for a building and of used items, so we can resell them, 2nd hand shop, and privatize the funding for welfare. I've had this dream for 8 years now, and my drive has never stopped me, and one day I will be successful. That program helps soooo many people across the entire untied states, and unfortunately our taxes can't afford to keep paying for it, so something needs done. So God gave me that goal, and he says I will be successful. But my drive is unstoppable, I keep going because the people deserve this!

I just happened to see this video listed…such an awesome video, of love, devotion, trust and vulnerability.
I so agree, that the hard stuff can be the difference.
My husband and I (I am wife
#4 for him, and he is husband #3 for me) had been separated for a long spell, all my doings. I missed him, but I didn’t really realize it. Then the devastating news of my 27 yr old sons’ suicide. I was so broken. He was there for me 100%. He is a semi truck driver. He tried so hard to get home to support me when it came time for the identification process; at the morgue/funeral home. He missed it by about 1/2 hour. I think he was just as devastated as I was over this Life Changing Event…this LCE started our getting-back-together story. Then came the diagnosis of my having Glaucoma and going blind. Then the surgery to remove my left eye due to uncontrollable high pressure caused by the glaucoma…I also have seizures-stroke like. After my hysterectomy the seizures have almost gone away. We have been married 28 years this past November.
This past Valentines Day (2022) my hubby gave me the sweetest card where he wrote in it, that he is so proud and happy of where we are right now, because of me. I asked him what he meant by that-he said (I’m fighting back tears here!) “I’m proud that you have pushed through and learned things that you were afraid of, because you could see what was and is to come. You didn’t make me feel upset or stupid, but you continued on and I love you for stepping way outside of your comfort zone and bringing me with you on this new journey.” Since 2019 I’ve been watching YT videos. I’ve taught myself to pressure can something I was terrified of because of a friends horrific accident; and I love canning now! I survived the Rona, even though it has left it’s tell-tail mark on my breathing. I got some laying hens. I planted some things in containers. We started searching for a home of our own-and in June of 2021 bought a small acreage. We kinda got duped on it-but I figure God planted us here so He has a plan! I have gotten 7 rabbits to breed for meat-and I took a butchering mini course which hubby videotaped. (He doesn’t like blood, isn’t a hunter-so this was huge in my book for him to record me.) I’ve added 3 more pullets and a Roo. Now I’m toying with the idea of a couple Nigerian Dwarf milk goats; and IPP’s. I have had hogs many years ago.
It is quite humbling to look back a see from whence we have come. This new journey is a bit scary as I am 62 and my hubby is soon to be 69. Every day is Faith over Fear. My hubby still works full time and is gone all week-so I take care of the “home fires!” Our new-to-us home only had a wood burning cookstove. I’m learning to cook and bake some, using it. I did purchase a small electric stove just to can on. I’m learning to use a grain mill-and purchasing in bulk. I recently participated in a pantry challenge and loved it!
I’ve been thinking about getting about 50 Cornish cross-but I’m not sure I can hand pluck, and a plucker is a bit expensive. That is what lead me to this video-I was looking on your playlist for more of your chick videos!
This wonderful video just warmed my heart and reminded me of the “up and downs” of my marriage; but indeed those are the strength building times-the I’m-in-it-for-the-long-haul times.
I do enjoy your videos anyway-but now even more so!!
    Thank you!

I had visions of being married and having many children and then in my 70 or 80s sitting on my porch in a rocking chair knitting a pair of baby booties for my next great grandchild. I had a child at 30. I got married and had a hysterectomy at 35. I was widowed at 36 and my daughter was killed when I was 55 before her marriage. There will be no baby booties in my family. Enjoy each other.

What a fun Q and A! Thanks for answering my question; I totally loved your salsa moment! Aust, not only do I despise hiccups, but there is only one thing in the world I hate worse...throwing up! Hiccups actually kick me into the “oh no are you going to throw up” fear mode. When my kids were little they’d come to me, give a hiccup...then the apocalypse would unfold. This always happened in inappropriate places. Always on carpet, in a car, in public, in the WATERBED!!, or on me. I had to hold it together because I fear and loathe doing it myself! Wow, I just wrote that in a public comment, LOL. Again, happy anniversary to you both!

And I DO share your passion for hating hiccups. They actually make me mad. LOL
(I was surprised you didn't mention that the way K could take a fall attracted you.) (Aust)
Thank the gods I wasn't drinking tea during the discussion of Aust's throwing up memory or I would have laughed the tea out my nose. I'm STILL laughing!!

Thanks for sharing, you two. My husband has similar sentiments about us as a couple, Aust. I was decisive (waves at K). He was not, lol. Actually, his saying for us became: "the immovable object, meets the unstoppable force." That's how we were. At first it threw us into a hot-mess. But then you realise through life, there are times you need to stand your ground (together) and times you have to push though impossible challenges (together). Each having a unique strength like that, gives the other party confidence in situations, they may not have possessed (alone). So when the immovable object, meets the unstoppable force, they actually fuse together and become formidable. May your bonds continue to strengthen. I know the hot-mess, and the strength you speak of. Man, but that exorcism puke-story, sure made me laugh though.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents and inlaws: Man (and woman) will leave his parents and become one under God. There are three cords in a marriage. Man, woman, and God. Nobody else allowed except these three. Not even children. But God also has his opinion on loving your children...Hint.....it isn't harsh.
