Hi from the other side of the world! How about all of the officials that run that city clear a piece of abandoned land and let the “build” small tents/houses there! With rules! Those are people in crisis!!! They need help!!
These are addicts...they need help but they will destroy any land you give them by bringing dumpster trash, needles, feces and garbage and dogs etc. Those that aren't addicts and just too low income, like seniors, should be given a rv/campground with onsite 24hr management
California's budget for this issue is in the millions, but most homeless drug addicts refuse help. Every week, organizations go out trying to get them off the streets, but they consistently turn it down. We have hotels and tent cities where they could stay which are paid by taxpayers, but they refuse those options as well. These individuals do not want to leave the streets, and the situation will not improve unless they are forced to do so.

As long as thy aren't active meth, heroin addicts or bottom alcoholics they should have a low-cost RV campground with onsite 24hr management to keep things clean and civil.

If theyre getting kicked out anyway, they should move to La Jolla that is much better weather, closer to services and millions times better than Escondido.
I agree with you. They need to clean it up! The city is littered with urine, feces, drug paraphernalia, and tons of trash, and it's disgusting. Additionally, the city has numerous resources available to help them get off the streets, but they refuse help. This problem is only getting worse, and part of the issue is that some people feel sorry for them, instead of feeling sympathy for the residents and victims. These homeless drug addicts commit crimes every day-breaking into homes, cars, and businesses-and they also commit assaults.

I agree. They are homeless because they are drug addicts. If they don't want to use the resources that taxpayers are funding, then they should be forced off the streets or this issue will only become worse.

Do you live near any homeless drug addicts? Probably not. I live in downtown San Diego, where we have a large population of homeless drug addicts. Most of them are violent, unpredictable, and engage in criminal behavior. They also leave the city littered with urine, feces, drug paraphernalia, and trash-it's truly disgusting. One of them threatened to kill me. Other residents have been attacked or had things thrown at them. We've also experienced break-ins of cars, homes, and businesses. We have resources available to help them get off the streets, but they refuse help. This problem is only getting worse, and part of the issue is that there are people who feel sorry for them rather than addressing the real public safety and health risks they pose to the community.
The cost of shopping carts alone raises prices for everyone.

99% of what you saw in the "tight knit community" is stolen
This makes me so sad. We have so many empty buildings. No US citizen should have to sleep in a tent.

They have to live somewhere.

Hate crime. The target cart was secretly planted as an ad revenue.

The homeless made the mess, they need to clean it up.
That actually probably the best idea. They should be ordered to at least clean up the trash or written tickets.
