A Skittles Wrapper probably not because Madden doesn't reflect real life football, he may be but that's only because Madden is all about finding trick plays that score against every defense. Something impossinle in the real NFL. Also Brett probably hates how Madden claims to be "simulation football" but everything is scripted and based on dice rolls and animations not physics.
AJ X except tendencies don’t matter. If I know my opponent is gonna exploit the game by calling the exact same play then there isn’t anything I can do. Underneath routes were completely broken last year.
Great channel Brett. I'm South African and I have learned a lot about NFL from this channel. I was thinking about doing a channel like this but for Rugby here in South Africa, I am inspired.
Draw as many pretty pictures you want but if you lose in the trenches the game plan will be worth nothing. Jags will stifle the run game and set up long 3rd downs which Campbell and Co with tee off on.
Gringo Bandito not always. you can hide a bad o-line with schemes and better blocking systems. Perhaps they can run traps with hernandez using his massive body doubling a one technique and solder getting to the second level and the right guard (pugh?) Pulling for a trap
This is one of the most underrated channels on youtube. Thanks for being one of the few folks on youtube to post high-quality content that you very obviously dedicate a lot of time and attention to.
I used to sit in the film room after practice, in college, and wathc hours and hours of film. I no longer play but man this page makes me feel like I'm ready to suit up. Thank you for this.
I saw Brett's new video, I opened it so fast I couldn't even take headphones on in time. And it was probably the best video he's done so far! Awesome job Brett, love it.
I know you’ll never see this Brett, but you’ve made me love a sport deeper than I ever could’ve imagined. I never got the chance to play, so my imagination always wants to place me on the field. Watching your videos and absorbing all this knowledge let’s me actually feel like I grew up learning this game. Thank you for all the little things you do. You already know this, but everyone appreciates how much effort you put into these videos. I am looking to support you soon, thank you so much
Excellent vid, as a long-time Duval fan I definitely appreciate the respect you give to our defense. Can't wait for the season opener going to be a heck of a game.
Thank you Brett, not just for another quality video but also the fact you emphasised the importance of game planning, coaching and teamwork. Sometimes we all get so caught up in the talent of individuals and the star power narrative that we forget this is the ultimate team sport and that nobody can shine without a ton of work by others to make it happen. I have a sneaky feeling the Giants are going to win this matchup.
This is all great, but you're forgetting the Jaguars' strength. It's what gave them the very catchy nickname that spread through the fan base - Sacksonville. While you're more concerned with coverage and how to get advantage in the secondary, the Jaguars defensive line is going to slaughter Eli Manning. They will push him around the pocket, forcing inaccurate throws, or straight up take him to the ground. Either will put the Giants behind the chains and negate the entirety of this 4 step process.
great breakdown and analysis like a nfl coach would do. As a Giants fan last year we learned that how important having a good oline is. I'm hoping that has been fixed so that the Offensive gameplan can be carrired out without Eli having happy feet or on his back the whole game
So the Giants have thirty-eight days to work out a counter-plan to the Jaguars' defence... but the Jaguars also have thirty-eight days to work out a counter-counter-plan. That's what makes sport so interesting. One thing you don't touch on is that none of the Giants' schemes will work if they can't keep Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue and Malik Jackson and Marcell Dareus out of Eli Manning's face. The acquisition of Nate Solder notwithstanding, I think the jury's still out on the Giants' line. In short, CAN the Giants find a way to put points on the board against the Jaguars? Yes. WILL they? I can't wait to find out.
@ Simon Lepe -- which simply adds another unknown into the mix. I'm not going to pretend that I know how things will pan out - but it should be fun to watch.
He did mention how to contend with the Jags D line. Run the ball, and take advantage of their tells. Jax has a good DefenSe, but they played against a lot of bad offenses last sea. & they were not great vs the run. If they played Phi for example. The Eagles were the best team running between the tackles & the best on 3rd downs. So they would have been a tough match up, and exposed Jax's weakness & had better success vs their strength.
i have to say i love this video. so insightfull and well put together. as a non american your videos really help me dig deeper and understand the game better as this is like my 4th year actually watching the nfl season and my 2nd year playing football. you help me so much so i disect film for my games better and give my coaches and captains input for things they might have missed . truely love this channel.
My god that intro was just the absolute most bad fucking ass thing I have ever heard hands down got chills watching it and even got to put myself in that assistant coaches shoes great job
Thank you so much. I've always wondered how gameplan comes about and especially the breakdown on combo coverages. Best informative football channel. Hands down.
I'm a HUGE Giants fan and a little nervous about this game, so its really cool to see you breakdown the Jags D in a way that was easy to understand. We've got a ridiculous amount of weapons and I hope we can pull this off. Coach Shurmur getting a W against arguably the best defense in week 1 would be a massive confidence booster for not only Shurmur but for the entire team going forward. Let's go!
Arkham Dingus He broke down the defense but he didn't mention the offense which was a top 10 offense and I don't believe the giants defense is particularly good so I could easily see this being a shootout
I like to think you mentioned how important a team’s coach knowing how to use his team’s talent is more important than just having talent on the roster because of me bugging you to make a video about how important coaching is since a lot of NFL fans think only the players make a difference. Thanks! Awesome video, as always.
It's crazy how things turn around in the NFL. If you were to tell me 2 years ago that the Giants would be considered the underdogs against the freaking Jags in week one, I would have laughed in your face. Great vid! I'm a big Giants fan, so any team that Tom Caughlin is on has a spot in my heart. Looking forward to this season!
Hey Brett why havent you done a video on Cincinnati Bengals Young Star Corner William Jackson lll? He had a great season(best from a CB since PFF been a thing, according to their stats). He also shut down Antonio Brown, who couldnt get a single catch on him. He would be a great review....... But i enjoy all your vids btw, keep up the great work brotha.
I speak for all giants fans when I tell you I would rather your UA-cam channel be the head coach last year then macadouche. Good video brother. Keep up the great work
Just starting watching the video. Your channel is the best on UA-cam. After the rundown of the games I'm assuming Bad QB, Bad Playcalling and Bad Skill Position talent is all going to be my Browns. This year will be different. Most improved team in the league.
This really is a fantastic video, I always enjoy these breakdowns of team strategy. One thing I would like to point out is that there is a new variable in Ronnie Harrison that is pretty significant on the defense. He is by no means a "superstar" on the defense but when factored in he actually changes the jags defense significantly. Rumor has it that Jacksonville is starting to experiment with defensive formations that include all 3 safetys on the field which could invalidate the Gippson tell. They can have Gippson drop into coverage on the tight end but still run a cover 2 or they could drop harrison instead. Also, this gives the jags a tremendous chance to begin blitzing safteys more often. Nonetheless, this was an outstanding videa, keep it up!
The Giants upgraded their OL. Yes they have Flowers at RT, but the 49ers had Zane Beadles and still won. I'm not sure if Manning can get rid of the ball as quick as Garoppolo, that's key when playing strong pass rushers. And the other side of the ball is another story. Steelers lost at playoffs because they couldn't stop Fournette to save their lives. find a way to stop Fournette, and bumass Bortles will lose the game.
Man as a football fan I thank you so much for this channel. I can tell you work your ass off to put together great content! Hope to see you on NFL Network or ESPN some day.
That would be fun, but in the long run UA-cam is a better career opportunity I think. Nobody telling me what content to make, higher potential income ceiling, more fluid work schedule that doesn't make all nighters impossible haha. I did the TV thing for a while, and I'm happy where I'm at now :)
Generally I'd agree with what you're saying at 16:36, that the talent differnce isn't as big as some people describe it, and that teams with a worse roster but better gameplan can outscheme "better" teams. However I think the pass you showed there is a pretty good example, that individual talent is still an important factor: In another video you pointed out how incredibly fast Jimmy G's release is. And now look at how close Telvin Smith was to at least break up that pass or even worse, actually get the interception, which btw would've been an easy pick-6 in this situation. To me, that throw looks pretty darn risky since the timing window is REALLY tight, and I'd actually go as far and say that most NFL quarterbacks with a release not as quick as Garropolo a) wouldn't even attempt that pass or b) would have to pay the price for it. The risk was probably somewhat calculated by Garropolo, because he obviously knows about his release and trusted his ability to fit that ball right in there - but that again would show that this play was only possible because of his individual skills. At least thats how it looks for me, as an amateur, and I'd be very interested in your opinion on that. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Gus Bradley built that D. Coughlin and Marrone inherited it last year. Well they brought in Campbell which made all the part function, i think Bradley deserves a ton of credit...
Blake “the snake” Bortles. I’m drafting him EVERYWHERE. He ended the season (and playoffs) with 7 straight 20+ fantasy point games, and he has an easy schedule. You can get him in the 13th+ round. There’s no reason not to take him.
You could go with him, but I'd take him as a second qb. I'd much rather grab Matthew Stafford, Matt Ryan, Jimmy G, or whoever is left in about the 11th. You could go with both strategies if you want and just start whoever has been performing better or has an easier game.
If you can get Matt Stafford or Matty Ice in the 11th, I totally agree with you. I’ve been seeing them go more in the 8-9th though, so I’ve been content grabbing Mariota or Dak, and pairing them with Bortles. People tend to disrespect Blake because he’s not a big name like Roethisberger or Brady.
Jags will likely approach the game similar to the Pats, but hopefully have learned from their mistake of going passive in key situations with their coverage.....I'd like to see the press more out of the it quarters coverage..but that's just my personal preference, as well as mixing when they match up Ramsey on Engram, and Bouye on OBJ or vice versa... and allow the Telvin Smith/Myles Jack/Gipson to account for Saquon out of the backfield when possible. The key to beating the Jags D is muscling them up front..I Think the Giants have beefed up their OL a little to help with this in the run game, I think, but I still question their pass protection. Should be a fun matchup between the skill position talent on both sides of the ball..I cant wait to see it.
Alexis KC he does get rattles easily and that could play a big role in who wins the matchup. But odell is a really good route runner. If ramsey doesn’t press odell and get really physical with him then ramsey will lose the matchup
Nothing better than starting the week off with a Brett Kollmann video
nasir casso hell yea. Have a great day man
Good shit y'all, it's rare to see nice comments these days
Julian Nkedelim Swear*
This channel is a Goldmine
Caleb Davis 100%
Caleb Davis Saying Eli is above average though....
You're still going to lose week 1
It is, everything this man puts out is brilliant, just brilliant. Eli has been in the league for almost 15 seasons now and won two superbowls, of course he's above average.
GO GIANTS BEAT THE JAGS Brother!!!!!!
Brett must be an absolute god in Madden
LOL I swear I thought the same thing!
G1nger519 Good point
Nano blitz
AJ X except tendencies don’t matter. If I know my opponent is gonna exploit the game by calling the exact same play then there isn’t anything I can do. Underneath routes were completely broken last year.
Step 1: Eli has to pretend that they’re the patriots
The ghost of Micheal Beasley Jr for real
Pray for a terrible call and get a legal touchdown revoked?
Also pray that they give up on a drive with 1min left in the 2nd qtr?
Come on, you didn't have to do us like that...
Lose the superbowl twice against himself? :O
Great channel Brett. I'm South African and I have learned a lot about NFL from this channel.
I was thinking about doing a channel like this but for Rugby here in South Africa, I am inspired.
Ishaye bafo!
Nda Masimula I promise you, if you actually study what he has to say and learn from it, you'll know more than most Americans
a rugby channel would be nice.. interesting sport
I would really like to see some in depth rugby analysis
Let me know if you do! I'm interested in breaking down new sports. American Football by far one of the most strategic games ever though
Clicked on this expecting a Giants hypefest, and got a 49ers love fest. As a Niners fan, I approve.
We can't forget about the Jaguars pass rush or more importantly the flaws in the Giants O-Line
Chris Scanlon yup
Chris Scanlon great point
Draw as many pretty pictures you want but if you lose in the trenches the game plan will be worth nothing. Jags will stifle the run game and set up long 3rd downs which Campbell and Co with tee off on.
Gringo Bandito not always. you can hide a bad o-line with schemes and better blocking systems. Perhaps they can run traps with hernandez using his massive body doubling a one technique and solder getting to the second level and the right guard (pugh?) Pulling for a trap
The only player from that oline is erek flowers
Best football channel on UA-cam. Bar none.
This is one of the most underrated channels on youtube. Thanks for being one of the few folks on youtube to post high-quality content that you very obviously dedicate a lot of time and attention to.
What I got from this
Man, that 49ers Vikings game gonna be intense! Great playcallers on both sides of field!
Vikings fan, by the way
One of the best defensive schemes vs shanahans offense, yes please
Im so glad we have jimmy & kyle
Can tell hard work went into this, great video.
I used to sit in the film room after practice, in college, and wathc hours and hours of film. I no longer play but man this page makes me feel like I'm ready to suit up. Thank you for this.
This example game plan is in my opinion your best work. Really amazing insight into the 168 hour week!
I saw Brett's new video, I opened it so fast I couldn't even take headphones on in time. And it was probably the best video he's done so far! Awesome job Brett, love it.

The intro to this video was so awesome. I can literally sit and watch these videos all day. Keep it coming!!
Excellent vid, as a long-time Duval fan I definitely appreciate the respect you give to our defense. Can't wait for the season opener going to be a heck of a game.
The intro where you “set the stage” was really well done, I was hyped by the time the intro music started playing.
I love listening to this guy think
Great video, I'm learning so much from just watching your videos!
You could make a gameplan series for the new season!
Brett kollmann = football Pastor
Thank you

The grind you talked about in your Q/A video really paid off here. Another fantastic episode
Standing Ovation Brett, seriously. One of the best break downs I've seen.
great breakdown and analysis like a nfl coach would do. As a Giants fan last year we learned that how important having a good oline is. I'm hoping that has been fixed so that the Offensive gameplan can be carrired out without Eli having happy feet or on his back the whole game
how did I ever watch football without watching your content?
This is soo fun, I love how much I'm learning about my favorite Sport!
Thank you Brett!

lomax343 well man you gotta consider they got a new coach so you can’t really know how to counter a team that hasn’t played yet
@ Simon Lepe -- which simply adds another unknown into the mix. I'm not going to pretend that I know how things will pan out - but it should be fun to watch.
exactly. scheme all you want but no mention on the jags Dline and how to stop them.

Bro your film study and breakdowns are ABSOLUTELY IMMACULATE!!!!!!
My god that intro was just the absolute most bad fucking ass thing I have ever heard hands down got chills watching it and even got to put myself in that assistant coaches shoes great job

Such a great video, exactly the right level of detail and complexity and nails the entertainment and drama aspect. Well done!
Giants are must see TV with this offense
appleciderpapi yessir
If they can keep Eli upright. A used up tackle and a rookie guard isn't going to shore up that line. Good Luck Barkley!
...
Great vid. So excited for this matchup as a Giants fan to see how Barkley plays against this awesome hard hitting defense
Brett you are the truth!!!!!!!!!!
hell ya, i got so excited when i saw this notification. not even a fan of the giants or jags just wanted to see this breakdown. nice work!
What a great video for getting appreciation for what goes into coaching. Thanks.
Bruh I've never seen anything on the NFL Network or ESPN go as in depth on NFL Schemes as this guy just did, Bravo man 👏👏👏
Tremendous stuff. Really awesome. I learn so much each time and it's still staggering that Brian Baldinger has a job when you're out there!
This episode was just PURE GOOLLLDDDDD! Gotta be my favourite ever channel man, TOP DAAWWGG
ShinefortheCam I came here as a Steelers fan to talk shit but couldn’t. This dude is amazing.
William Jackson is the next great corner. In a couple years we’ll be debating who’s better, Ramsey or Jackson
He didnt have the best season in the pff era but he only allowed a reception every 28 snaps which i think was a pff era record
ShinefortheCam I’m a saints fan but I do like Andy dalton but all I’m saying is fuck spanos
This is why I love this channel.
Fantastic. Really can't think how this could get better. Don't see enough content that gets into strategy and what not
I speak for all giants fans when I tell you I would rather your UA-cam channel be the head coach last year then macadouche. Good video brother. Keep up the great work
GREAT EFFIN VIDEO
I’m sharing this to the Giants Twitter right now because I need to see my GMen off to a fast start. Keep up the good breakdowns
Finally. A UA-cam video worth watching
great work on that video, thank you for that time and effort
Neetai Nezer-El Check out my channel? God bless ua-cam.com/video/huITsLNFr7A/v-deo.html
Just starting watching the video. Your channel is the best on UA-cam. After the rundown of the games I'm assuming Bad QB, Bad Playcalling and Bad Skill Position talent is all going to be my Browns.
This year will be different. Most improved team in the league.
Such a good break down, nice work Brett! This was awesome.
That's why jimmy Garoppolo threw those short boot leg routes against Jacksonville.
Welp, I’m not moving for 20 minutes
This will be a great week 1 match up! I cant wait!!! Go JAGS
Got so hyped when i saw you posted this morning I love it
this is a lotta work Brett. u deserve much more than UA-cam. Titan up. # makemoretitanicvideos
Rewatching this during the 2022 offseason is crazy. Hearing the jags and the giants as a must-watch game hurts my head
And yet here we are again 😂 except the turns have tabled now the Jaguars are the offensive machine while the Giants are the defensive machine
GREAT video!!!! Go Giants!!!!
Been waiting for a kollman video for a while and it’s about my team go jags
Ricc Jamesbitch Too bad it is another video about how to beat us
Caleb Craven it’s just kinda saying what I already kinda know about Todd wash scheme
Blake Bortles throwing 3 picks surely helped the 49ers win that game
Doesn't matter, Jimmy still carved up the Jags and made them look awful whenever he had the ball and they had inferior talent.
legendary film breakdown
This really is a fantastic video, I always enjoy these breakdowns of team strategy. One thing I would like to point out is that there is a new variable in Ronnie Harrison that is pretty significant on the defense. He is by no means a "superstar" on the defense but when factored in he actually changes the jags defense significantly. Rumor has it that Jacksonville is starting to experiment with defensive formations that include all 3 safetys on the field which could invalidate the Gippson tell. Also, this gives the jags a tremendous chance to begin blitzing safteys more often. Nonetheless, this was an outstanding videa, keep it up!
Excellent job Brett. One of your best.
Wtf your channel is good and your videos are so well thought and in depth you earned my sub
I didn't know i was excited for this game until after watching this video haha. Amazing work.
If you dont get chills during the intro minute then you dont have a pulse. Kollmann is the football spielberg. PS can you help the Giants every week.
u r not too bad either rover. keep that 9ers content coming.
thanks man, ill never be brett but hopefully can keep niners convos going.
Rover Sports Yup his intros are cinematically chilling
The Giants upgraded their OL. Yes they have Flowers at RT, but the 49ers had Zane Beadles and still won. Bro I'mma Vikings fan but man I'm hyped for this matchup
Excited for more videos now that the season is starting! (Hopefully more Steelers breakdowns!)
I think this is your deepest video yet. I could tell you were really deep in tape for this one
Well done Brett!!
you're getting sick at editing these videos, keep it going bro, the intro got me hype to watch.
wow , this is amazing. Learned alot by watching. Top notch job.
Ramsey and Bouye both play like the Receiver they are covering has a step on them. The QB takes the bait, they turn on the Jets then get the INT.
Pat Shurmur is really good. He understands coverages and was a huge reason the Vikings Offense did as well as they did. His play calling is very good.
BEST ON THE INTERNET
Great video Brett, really expanding my knowledge on the game this season.
Welcome to my subscribed list. Great videos. Love them. Keep it up.
Amazing job! The intro was top notch!
Please do this every week!!!!!!!
Unless Manning improves his release time or has a vastly improved o line, I'm going to have to go with the Jags W.
Eli releases the ball on average like 2 seconds or less. I do not think that is the issue.
Eli’s release time? He has one of the fastest triggers in the NFL 👀
best channel on youtube for football!!
Haven't watched the episode yet but wanted to say that if it is anything like that into this episode will be incredible.
Love this video! Can't wait for the season to start.
You are my football mentor Brett. Love this channel~
Best video you've done so far, really love the deep analysis. Keep it up bro! Facking interesting stuff!
great content as always. Really looking forward to more positional analysis as well as the usual fantasy stuff
You just made my morning.
Gus Bradley built that D. Coughlin and Marrone inherited it last year. Well they brought in Campbell which made all the part function, i think Bradley deserves a ton of credit...
Masi Macc right gus Bradley did build our D
I really enjoyed this one, great work man!
Need the best Fantasy Qb's video in my life
Blake “the snake” Bortles. I’m drafting him EVERYWHERE. He ended the season (and playoffs) with 7 straight 20+ fantasy point games, and he has an easy schedule. You can get him in the 13th+ round. There’s no reason not to take him.

Amazing video and amazing channel - subbing after having just seen two videos LOL
That video was outstanding. Very informative and entertaining.
I like odell in the odell vs ramsey matchup
You're out of your mind
But I respect your opinion
His rac is probably the best in the league with Ramsey giving up short passes a lot I see odell taking it to the house
ShinefortheCam 😂😂😂
Idk about that one. Ramsey talks a lot and Beckham get easily rattled.
Alexis KC he does get rattles easily and that could play a big role in who wins the matchup. But odell is a really good route runner. If ramsey doesn’t press odell and get really physical with him then ramsey will lose the matchup
