My dad was a much older man. I remember watching this particular cartoon as a kid and my dad was in the living room with me. When he saw the bit with cats leaned up against the wall, flipping coins, he busted up. He said that it was parody, obviously, but it was accurate. He remembered these 'toughs', his word, that would lean up against walls, light poles, etc flipping coins to look intimidating.
I remember watching Tom and Jerry with my grandfather, he got me into this show before he passed away. I still miss him, we had many good times together watching this show and many more.
This one was definitely one of my favorites, and probably my grandfather’s too before he passed away. He got me into this show, I still miss him a lot.
@edoardoguzzi3553 That would be a long, long list. But mostly cartoons made between 1944 and 1953. The most recently uploaded, Part Time Pal, Pecos Pest, Quiet, Please, Trap Happy, Solid Serenade and especially Jerry and the Goldfish are among my favorites.
@@abdullahibouraleh6919 i also really like alot of the shorts from that period, altrough i think 1947 is where Tom and Jerry really shines: The Cat Concerto, Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Mouse and Salt Water Tabby are the iconic trio of Tom and Jerry shorts, PERIOD. 4:21 is such a memorable and violent gag! Poor Tom has to wear sunglasses in the next scene. Also, I always laughed when the Dirty Work Inc. cats marched in with their tails bobbing along to the music, which sounds a lot like the Hearse Song.
I love how all the cats featured either share Tom or Butch's character design, to a point where we have Butch both being featured burying himself and being the leader of Dirty Works Inc.
At 1:42 we see Tom outside Jerry's mouse hole with firecrackers all over the place, yet when Muscles walks out of the hole carrying the lit firecracker all the other firecrackers have disappeared.
I love this episode so much from Muscles being a badass, Tom fighting back against Muscles while the other cats are scared of him, the cat gang, this episode is my number one favorite it was the reason i got into Tom and jerry this episode is special being that I saw this in first grade Thanks Warner bros for uploading this💗
It always tickled me for some reason that "Hail to the Chief"(AKA, the US. President's theme) is heard during the scene where Tom bows down to Muscles and later Jerry and kisses their feet. What a brilliant choice of music.
I know Warner doesn't want to publish everything at once because they want everything to get watched, but I can tell from the comments that the people who watch these love them and want more. Warmer Bros. could easily post episodes 3 at a time, which might even start like a fan movement.
Imagine if Muscles and Droopy had both appeared in this short. I know, Droopy was Tex Avery’s character but it would have been insane. Funny enough, Bill and Joe did produce the last several Droopy cartoons by the end.
Plus later on Bill Thompson who voiced Droppy appeared in a couple of the Tom and Jerry shorts. Namely as Tom's Cousin and the police officer who arrested them for "babynapping".
2:02-2:!3 This part still cracks me up on every rewatch.🤣🤣🤣 Despite this being his first and only appearance in the classic _Tom and Jerry_ era, Cousin Muscles is still one of my favorite members in Jerry's family.
Muscles mouse would later make recurring appearances on the Tom & Jerry show starting with the season 3 episode “Frown and country”. “Anger mismanagement” is a first known instance that Spike bulldog encounters Muscles Mouse and is only instance where Muscles beat up Spike bulldog.
Tom and Jerry was an American animated franchise and series of theatrical comedy short films created by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbara for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in 1940. It centred on a never-ending rivalry between a cat named Tom, and a mouse named Jerry, and many other recurring characters which involves slapstick comedy and comic violence. In its original run, Hanna and Barbara wrote, produced, and directed a total of 114 Tom and Jerry cartoons at the MGM cartoon studio, Hollywood, between 1940 and 1958, when the animation unit was closed. During this time, they won the Academy Award for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) seven times, tying for first place with Disney's Silly Symphonies with the most awards in the category. MGM revived the series, but this time, Gene Deitch directed and William L. Snyder produced a total of 13 Tom and Jerry cartoons between 1961 and 1962. Then, Chuck Jones produced and directed a total of 34 Tom and Jerry cartoons with Sib Tower 12 Productions between 1963 and 1967.
I love what an absolute badass Muscles is! He's a good relative to Jerry, and an nightmare to any feline!
😂.
Bro is literally like the Arnold Schwarzenegger of Tom and Jerry.
Same with Jerry's Uncle Pecos, "Crambone"!!😅
Jerry: Boo 👻
Tom: “I fear no mouse. But that thing…it scares me.”
Jerrys cousin: 💪
Toms cousin: 😨
Jang Keng and Tekirai: We're sorry😰 *Left the show*
Tom: Don't leave!
Jerry's cousin: 5:40
Jerry: Take That!
One of the classic bits. Blowing on the thumb. 😂😂😂😂. Timeless
Another of my favorites. Especially the one-word responses from the Dirty Work cat. "Yeah" "Yeah" "Okay" 😅
Yeah. He talked a little bit. Some characters talk and others don’t.
Come on, boys! We got a job!
@@ryuhoshi9381 *Muscles hits the cats and got rid of them*

Jerry: I Quit!
2:08 Tom's ear drums🥁 popped out😂
2:09 💥
Tom: Ouch 😣
That’s so cleaver
He got ear drums 🥁 in his ears 👂
If this were real, Tom would have had more than his eardrums pop out. A. Lot. More.
This one was definitely one of my favorites, and probably my grandfather’s too before he passed away. He got me into this show, I still miss him a lot.
A muscle bob & a magician as cousins? Jerry has a really good bloodline. 😂😂❤❤
and there's also Uncle Pecos the Country Mouse who is Juggernalt in miniature.
@Miranha-SupremoV18 oh,yes! I forgot about our beloved Uncle Pecos! Oooh, and our loveable food monster,Nibbles!! 💕💕🤗🤗

Gotta love the subtle whistling in the soundtrack at 5:58
Two peak Tom and Jerry cartoons in one week? Thanks Warner Bros Classics!

I love it when Muscles turned Tom into Bowling pins with a bowling ball
Uncle Pecos is the best one in Jerry's family and Cousin Muscles

Kudos to Paul Frees, the voice actor for Butch, doing Muscles here.
His delivery is a delight to hear in this cartoon.

3:02 I think the idea of Luffy’s gear third in one piece is from this.
Is that a JoJo reference?

Could be. Apparently Oda got his “Gear 5” Idea from tom and Jerry

Rule 1: Don’t mess with Muscles
Rule 1A: especially don’t mess with his family if you want to live

Absolute favorite episode of Tom and Jerry
This theme arrangement used in Gene Deitch's Tom and Jerry intro
Funny how Tom still tries to show he's in charge... only to realize he's playing with toys, as this Mouse is *Not Playing Around,*
I remember wanting a cousin like Muscles when I was a kid. No lie, I still kinda do. 😅
2:29. This is just wonderful.
In many episodes, Jerry outsmarted and outrun Tom. But in some episodes, Tom successfully forced Jerry into the corner. This is oddly conflicting lol.
I love Cousin Muscles! I like the eardrum part though. 😂

There’s a moral to this story;
“Don’t Mess With Family!!!”
Funny how Jerry couldn't deal with Tom in this episode while in other episodes such as Mouse Trouble he handles Tom easily.
The episode that inspired Oda to create Luffy and One Piece, ladies and gentlemen.
