The one time I got hypothermia on army exercise in Denmark learned me to respect the cold.. I just passed out in the snow without any real warning(You know its cold, you are supposed to freeze some..) My platoon leader slapped me in the face till I kind of woke up, put me in a warm jeep for the 30 minute drive to the infirmeri, when I arrived my core temp was only 35C, thats just about the limit where your organs starts to fail.. they put me in a hot shower and then a bed, served me lots of hot coffee, after 10 hours I was sent back to my unit to continue the exercise in the snow.. After that I understand the pictures of german soldiers at Stalingrad frozen solid still sitting at the ready behind their machinegun..
dumb bastard should have given you a day to recover its hard on the body going through that. I got hypothermic once but had to walk 8 more miles home on while delerious rekt me for a few days.
Of late... the hardest place to survive is my house... my wife and I are now raising our 7 grandbabies (oldest is 9)... I'm too old for this! ;) #algobuster
I think the toughest place to survive is anywhere that gets extremely cold. We as humans are tropical creatures and simply aren’t built for cold. There is a reason that the oldest cultures such as the San bushman and the aboriginals of Australia lived in arid environments. In desert and jungles you can run around half naked and be fine but not so in the cold. Also in deserts/jungles if you have a water source you just sit in the shade and move in the cooler parts of the day but in the cold you literally have to stay moving in order to stay alive. There is no time to rest because every second is spent trying to stay alive. I once watched an interview with the famed Cody Lundin and he said the reason he moved from his home state of Wyoming to Arizona was because of winter. I think that says something. That’s just my opinion
If it's too hot, I'm dead. If it's too cold, I'm dead. I think I'd stand a better chance in the cold though. Heat didn't bother me when I was younger. But now, I can hardly stand to walk out the door when it gets over 80 degrees.
Been in all the climates and have suffered most of the bad effects. The Artic far from the tree line will kill you fast without the proper skills and gear. Freezing not the most painful but very swift. Being lunch for a polar bear I am sure would be most unpleasant.
The ocean. Read about the survivors from the U.S.S. Indianapolis. The coldest; Minnesota in the mid 1970's -40 temps/-64 windchill. Guys on the radio were warning not to go out. The plow came past our driveway, filling it with snow. My Dad sent me out in a parka to shovel it before it froze solid. I could only see out of the 6" diameter parka hood. I felt like I was on the moon in the white out and high winds. Survive? It would be snow cave time.
You did say Amazon I'd answered it right away I didn't hear you talk about all this so I got it right haha LOL I guess I did let me finish watching the video I'm like not even a minute in
Definitely the middle of the ocean, in my opinion. Just the thought of being on one of those inflatable life rafts and nothing around you but the ocean in all her frighting glory!
Ladies and Gentlemen, your brain, you want to survive and prosperous, or become savage until you are defeated, HOO-EFFING-YAH, and thank for the video🤘🇺🇲
I always wondered if you think it would be beneficial to become nocturnal when you’re facing extreme hot or extreme cold temperatures. This way, if you’re an extreme hot area, you can rest and relax during the daytime with the heat is that a Tice and you’d be in danger and move around at night when the heat is less. Or in an extreme cold weather situation, you could move around at night because the cold would kill you and moving around would keep you warm, and you can rest and relax in the day when you’re More easily able to handle those temperatures.
I lived close to the Arctic Circle in Alaska for 7 years and it’s my favorite place I’ve ever been but it can be a nasty place to survive especially in the winter.
I went through jungle training in Panama when I was in the ARMY. The jungle there has some of the most most dangerous plants insects and animals that will kill you or make you wish you were dead. Not to mention the heat and humidity. There's a spider there the size of a dinner plate. These spiders build their webs in the tree tops to catch birds. I was so glad to to be done with that place.
Had MERSA in a finger bone last summer. Could have died. Two weeks in the hospital. Luck for great health care and IV antibiotics. Infections are serious!
Gday mate. Growing up in Western Australia on the edge of the desert some call the never never the cold as in snow would be too much for me. The black fellas ( that’s normal here ) have survived for maybe 50,000 years here and learning from them the tricks to survive make all the difference. Shout out to my Injibardi brothers and sisters 🍻 Congratulations on your big increase in subs. Run with it man 👍🏻
It surprises me how unprepared ALL of these actors are/we're, in California, they don't even have go bags, one guy said all he had was 2 pairs of shoes, and the clothes he was wearing, he also said he had to buy a mask, and he bought some sunglasses, for eye protection, instead of having protective eyewear/in this case/environment goggles would have been, the best choice/something with a seal, to prevent eye iration, he should of had this ready to go, in his bug out bag, and also things as simple as a car kit, these people have the ability to be EXTREMELY prepared, but choose not to be, its kind of insane, ESPECIALLY when the last thing this guy said was, my daughter is going to school in france. With their budget/wealth, they COULD of built their entire house out of Steel/Tungsten/EN24/4340 or Hafnium Tantalum Carbide Ta4HfC5, they could have had a fire proof safe room, the sky is the limit, for these peoples budgets, and they chose not to build a house that could withstand the elements in the area, they also chose not to be prepared, AT ALL, its kind of crazy/insane.
Beech Mountain NC, Single Digits and 50 mph sustained winds. Brutal cold, your snot will freeze in your mustache and your breath will condensate and freeze in your beard.
I currently live in central Mn... not much snow last couple of yrs.. but temps have gotten down to zero not counting wind chill... tho I have been out in raw -25 degree weather... exposed skin freezes fast.. without the proper gear you won't last long in our winters.... My plan is to actually move to northern Mn. And retire... but plan to be off grid live life to its fullest with what time i have left....
For me, New Zealand south Island maindivide, especially above the snow line. Short of birds(starlings blackbirds, song thrush, robins etc) wild food is incredibly sparse. And our weather changes so quickly, even fully prepared outdoors experts have died because situations changed so quickly.
The mountains would be my favorite place to be where I could make a fire and warm up. There are plenty of resources there. It would get old really fast to be in the desert suffering high body temperatures with headaches every day. I would never be able or want to move about. I suppose but I would adapt anywhere. If I survived the ocean and was dumped out on a luscious tropical island that didn’t have man eating creatures I would be okay but to be stranded out in the middle ocean, no thanks.
Well to be honest climate was it would be the cold that has no humidity like a Antarctica cuz nothing grows there so or if you're up north you have shorter growing Seasons you have to stay warm you got to do a lot more work to stop a lot more energy for the winter however you know what I mean being at maybe the ocean or on working on oil rigs stand wet oh I guess even possibly wet during Hurricane Season you know here in Florida perhaps but you want to keep your feet dry you always want to stay dry no matter what
Hypothermia has stages, shivering uncontrollably, agonizing pain like a burning, it takes a while feeling so uncomfortable and you know death is imminent. Blood from extremities goes to the core as flesh freezes, hands, arms and feet stop working. Then the brain begins to go and I guess that’s when nothing but delirious thoughts jumble crazily and that is when it may begin to be peaceful until death.
Tall or short grass plaines. water is infrequent, edible plants tough, no trees to easily build a shelter, no snow to build an igloo, game sees you way in advance….
Most dificult to survive? Hmm... in Washington DC congress as a sane man. Detroit... with a fresh pizza.and a bar of gold in hand. San Francisco dressed as a lumberjack with an anti PETA tshirt. Dressed up as a rainbow unicorn mascot in rural Montana. Anywhere ya go for some of em and they'd be on ya like a rat on a cheeto! 😂 Seriously, Yakutia Russia in Winter, NYC/Chicago/Baltimore/LA during a riot. Or maybe a radioactive enviroment where there is cobalt or plutonium fallout. Lastly, on Kodiak Island after a fisaster that has caused all humans to flee the island. Can think of many more too. Ley is to think where you may realistically end up and prepare, then pick where you may go thru and prepare for that too. Then add more scenarios. Eventually your kit will be fit for all and your training too. As you never know where you may pass thru to get somewhere you want to be and end up stranded there.
More people die from heat (Hyperthermia) than cold (Hypothermia) every year. Man survives in all environments, we adapt, we got a brain and figure things out.
Well that because people go out in the cold less, bundle up when they do, and stay out less. Put just from an environmental perspective you can freeze to death a lot quicker than dying from heat stroke. The body looses heat from hypothermia quicker than overheating from hyperthermia. You lay down in the shade and you can survive a little longer, you lay down in the cold it won’t take long. But when it’s warm people tend to be less prepared after all it’s “nice” out, either way dead is dead .
Haha oh no! You got your double edge axe out and it’s shaving sharp? What is that for Jason? There is no need for that. I’m just a friendly commentator North of your part of the country. Been around these parts of the Internet for a long time and saw the survival dispatch videos popping up. Not really a follower as I said. Have fun.
The south side of Chicago after dark
Hahahahhaaaa 😂😂! Golden
No way really not with all gods chosen people living in one place 😅
Before dark is deadly as hell too
I agree with you, the ocean , the middle of the arctic would be my second followed by the dessert.

Just saw your machete on BFK, looks great!!
In the Ocean or the barren desserts
Anywhere theres lack of water

I agree! Over 80° can be stroke territory once we get out of the younger years. I don’t like the heat either. 👍

Just me personally, I can't do heat. So I'd just curl up and die in the desert.
Antarctic, during winter.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your brain, you want to survive and prosperous, or become savage until you are defeated, HOO-EFFING-YAH, and thank for the video🤘🇺🇲
I am from the adirondaks and am just amazed at how people ever were able to make it possible to inhabit the mountains back in the day.
Wim Hof would probably disagree about Everest. Wonder what his answer would be.

No they didnt we havent been around for that long.
Thanks!
I have trained in Sonora desert , high mountains in Smokies and now live in NW Montana -45 for week straight . They all have their ups and downs .
Extended long winters with minimal sunlight. That's why I live in Florida.

Most people won't last a day or two in The White House, unless you're Mork, Alf, Uncle Martin or The Jetsons.!
I would take it anywhere but a big city.

I feel like the arctic has to be tough. Maybe it's more of a mental challenge than physical but the arctic has to be tough
Artic
Death Valley
I was thinking Moscow
A very very wet climate
I think cities like Chicago or New York. At least the "bad" spots.
Siberia

I think the hardest place would be the middle of the Antarctic Ocean bc sink or swim over 100s of miles
Antarctica.

Equatorial areas are actually survivable if you are willing to give up modern comfort, they are the true cradle of civilization,

The best place is likely the American southeast.
Many have no clue even though they think they have things figured out they have lots of equipment that they couldn't possibly carry it all
The Amazon you will just walk in circles until the bugs and everything eat you to death
It’s a tough place for sure.
Northpole

Lost at sea.
I would drowned in the ocean. The cold is my least favorite environment.
Try surviving in the South Pole😊
