    some people say that reflector telescopes are not good for seeing the moon, then is a high aperture (f5-7) good for seeing the moon?

    • @philongpham3886
      @philongpham3886 Рік тому

      Since the moon is so bright to begin with, what you need is magnification to see all its details. For that you need telescopes with long focal length like the Schmidt-Cassegrains. A big dobsonian would also work fine. For deep sky objects like galaxies, nebulas, ... Which are deemed but fairly large, you need big aperture to gather as much light as possible. For that, Newtonian telescopes are perfect since they usually much cheaper in comparison with refracting and catadioptric telescopes at the same aperture.

    I disagree in the beginners ought to get garbage telescopes.. don't do that. get good binoculars maybe, but dont waste your money on some stupid 150$ scope.
