I loved Conde so much tbh. He was what I wished Francis was. But fate didn't agree and because Mary was Queen and married to Francis, She couldn't do anything. But what if they had met before she had gotten married? Would fate have been different? I would love to see these two actors work together again but this time as the main couple.

Right before Conde would kiss her, he looked as if he lost his breathe every time. He knew that in kissing her, he would die in just kissing her alone, but he would no matter the risks in their time together. I knew the end results for them but I wanted them to be together to the end so badly! Ugh! 😭

I loved this couple so much. It is so sad to think that their love was so pure but everything was against it. As Mary said once, nobody can love her without being hurt. And as Louis said, his only fault was falling in love with her. I shipped them so much, however I knew they would not have ended together... But season 2 was my favorite. I'm sorry for Francis but I never liked him. I think Conde's love is truer, but it was in the wrong place and at the wrong time. So sad

When I really think about the fact that mary drove a knife into condes stomach, knowing he could easily die, and then immediately and lovingly reunited with francis, I wonder about the exact nature and strength of her feelings for conde.Whatever her feelings were, she certainly never looked back at him romantically. (He didnt even rate a flashback when she died.)

@@rebeccayoseph8064 Francis didn't love her the way she deserved ? He let her go to another man to make sure she'd find happiness ! His love for her has been obvious throughout his whole married life, he never had any feelings for any other woman. Yes, sometimes he had to make political decisions that didn't always aligned with Mary's will. But she respected and admired him for his sense of duty. I believe she loved him more for this than she could ever love a man completely throwing himself at her while losing sense of duty (cf when Bash was meant to become king). As for having no other options, i'd argue it's the contrary : she only went to other men when she couldn't have Francis. Her feelings for Bash only grew when she was trying to save Francis' life, as soon as she could she chose him again. For Condé, she went to him when she needed to heal from trauma and wasn't herself anymore. Now I think she did love him, but again she was always brought back to Francis.

Just like Mary would always have other immense responsibilities she would have to put above love, so did Francis. That is actually why they were soulmates. Because at their core, they both understood their lives would never totally belong to themselves.

This was really sad , how they loved each other, but it was bound to fail because of who she was the queen,, Louie loved her with all his heart,,,and still loved her after she put the knife in him, how great it would be if they starred in a movie in the aftermath if Mary had not have died at the end,,that would have been pretty interesting to watch.

I am a Frary shipper, but I completely understand why Mary ran to Condè. Francis allowed Narcisse to use him as a puppet & instead of telling Mary the truth, he said hurtful things & pushed her away & as messed up as it sounds, Mary’s rape can be traced back to all of the decisions that Francis made at Narcisse’s behest. Narcisse may have blackmailed the King, but Francis sowed the seeds of his love’s destruction by pushing Mary away.
I'm with frary, too, and i still think she should have found another way to handle her trauma and desire to escape from it than going to another man. However, what you said does make sense to me, especially about francis pushing her away and saying hurtful things-that awful thing about her not getting pregnant being the reason he was upset made me cringe. He did apologize later and tell her it wasnt true but still.......He did create distance between them.
@@debb481 I agree with you, that was the real problem, Francis loved her but he had disapointed her so many times before. He broke so many promisses to help Scotland in order to protect France, he left her alone to deal with the plague, he brought his son and Lola to live with them in the same castle, while Mary was under pressure to get pregnant. Mary forgave him, she even accepted his son and become his Godmother. After Mary was raped she decided to travel to clear her mind, and in her way back to the castle she was talking with Greer about her wishes to fix things with Francis, but when she got back home, she found Francis, Lola and their baby lying on the bed as a family. It was just too much for her. She even tried to have an heir, but she couldn't. Then she decided to take back the control of her life, she wanted to go back to Scotland and start from zero. I understand her. Francis suffered too, but people normally see his pain but forget hers.

This was the worst storyline! Francis was too good for Mary. He did everything to try and protect her and their family and then she goes through a trauma and starts falling for another man all while claiming she can’t even bear the thought of her own husband? Her patient and compassionate and loving husband? Yeah I can’t stand the thought of men but let me entertain someone else besides my damn husband! Ugh she pissed me off so much during this and Francis was still so understanding and loving. She did not deserve him.

mary was never in love with conde. in a time where she felt that francis was to blame for her rape (he left her unprotected) and she was angry and sad (you go through 1000 emotions when you are sexually assaulted), conde was her safe place. he was her comfort. she could safely hide within him. but she wasnt in love with him. he was her temporary place to hide. thats why, in the end, she chose francis.
I just finished the whole series, but this couple, Maria, Conde, have no idea how I hate Maria in those moments, the impotence of not being able to do anything, Francisco did not deserve what Maria did and even her decisions and choosing to be manipulated by Narcisse and not telling his queen anything was to protect maria, Francisco was so good that he always thought of maria before himself so it would cost him his country and his life and she paid him very poorly, it is true that she was raped but after what happened Francisco explained to her why he had acted like that and she didn't care and blamed him and decided to take refuge in Count and he didn't waste it, Francisco suffered seeing them together knowing that they shared the bed and he accepted it because he wanted Maria I was happy even without him. And if Maria decided to stay with Francisco, it was not out of love, it was because she needed him to defend Scotland, she was already determined to leave Francisco and what forced her to stay was his illness, it hurt me a lot to see his death and to know that maybe it's not Maria's fault but if I influence her in the end she repents and Francisco was happy his last days I even show at the end that when he dies he goes with him to finally be together again, maybe Maria confused love with gratitude as maria was told in an episode, but i am 100% i hate prince louis conde.

She never chose Bash : she went to him to save Francis' life and tried to grow feelings because it was the only option, as soon as she could she came back to Francis. As for Louis, it wasn't cheating, Francis agreed to it no matter how it pained him. He knew how destroyed she was and put her happiness first. I don't even believe she truly loved Condé, she just needed an escape and a fresh start.

When he slept with Olivia, it was after telling Mary that their engagement should be strictly business until they had a wedding date, and Lady Amelie was after Mary had announced she didn’t want anything to do with him, and she wanted him to take another. Now, Conde however was introduced as having multiple affairs with married women. I’ll always believe Francis was the better man. The fact that Conde kept his head at all is proof of that.

Francis did make it clear to Mary that he wasn’t romantically involved with her anymore and instead was with Olivia again but that conversation was after he was intimate with Olivia again so it could still be considered cheating. However it’s not like they were married and in arranged engagements stuff like this happens idk

I think they would have let her elope with Conde, as she already taking blaming for she could be the death of Francis according to prophecy so it will be safe for Francis ñ nation also. Mary loved Conde so much but she can't have him with her for lifetime bcz she didn't have the advantage as King does 😏. But it's ok atleast Conde didn't beheaded he escaped from dungeon and alive.
If she loved him so much, then why did she betray him and stab him? (She says herself that she might have killed him when she stabbed him.) Am I the only one who really hated Conde?? I never liked him at all, he was always so confused and dramatic and stuff. I would never understand why Mary had an affair with him. Francis is so cute and he was always there for her even if it costed his own mental health. So annoying and he also made me hate mary for a while, what happened to mary when she was raped was horrifying and she should have done anything she fit to get over the fact but if there is one thing I don't condone, that breaks my heart it is cheating on someone that you are truly destined to be with.
