Yay! Honestly, your weekly videos Becca make me so happy! I had a random thought for a future video: daily routine with kids aaand what the family eats on vacation. I don't mean those once a year big vacations but whenever you are far from home (Avalon beach 😊). That would be so helpful for summer time! Thank you 🌻🤗
Sourdough pizzas are the best easy dinner, I always make about a dozen crusts and prebake them so we just have to grab them from the freezer, add toppings, and throw them in the oven! I also make large batches of mini sourdough waffles and freeze them for quick breakfasts/snacks.
i started a sour dough starter from scratch and i have been feeding it and discarding for over week and doing the float test but it is not floating, what could be the problem?
Do you let the pancake batter sit out on the counter overnight or put it in the fridge overnight? I’m worried about it with the milk and eggs if I let it sit out on the counter
Loved this video. I already ordered my supplies to start my own sourdough starter. I have wanted to a few years back when you first started making videos on starting the starter. ❤ also, would you mind sharing were you bought that beautiful oil dispenser? It’s so pretty!
Aw yay I'm so excited for you!!! Sourdough is so much fun. And my diffuser is called the aria, it's seriously gorgeous lol www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/premium-starter-bundle-with-aria-diffuser
Loved watching your video. I would love to see you make a video on your sourdough bagels from start to finish. I made the sandwich bread and it was really good . I always have a hard time with the bagels for some reason. God bless ❤
I was thinking I should make a video all about discard haha so I typically just go ahead and feed whatever is in the jar, and don't discard before. I keep it in a BIG jar so there's plenty of room for it to grow, plus I don't like to mess around with perfect measurments to make sure I don't make too much. However, sometimes there is just too much in there & I don't want to use a ton of flour to feed it..in that case I'll usually dump a bunch out and feed it to our chickens, they love it! Or use it in a good discard recipe like tortillas, crackers, crepes, etc (things that don't need to rise)
Awesome video! I assume you find feeding from the fridge and using it for a recipe right away works. I’ve heard from the fridge feeding it twice will have better results? I do not really have time for that. Maybe the artisan breads more so?
Yep fi you feed it twice it can make it even more active, but agreed I don't really have the time lol and have always had great results with just one feeding before using it. I would say that's def more artisan/higher technical level!
I needed this! I have so much accumulated sourdough discard. I don’t know what to do with it!! I too, have been looking for the best sourdough pizza crust recipe! Thanks for sharing yours. I am definitely going to try this one! How long do you broil it and cook it on the stove top at the end?
Aw yay I hope you try it out! I usually broil on high (top rack) until the crust starts to get bubbly and char. Then cook on the stove top until the bottom gets browned
I just made my first starter ever based off of your blog post!! How did you know it was going to peak that day? And once it peaks, I know it’s ready to use but for how long?
They can be pretty predictable! After about 7 days it's officially starter and is ready to use. You can jump straight into trying to make bread, although you'll get better results (more of a rise) as the starter continues to get stronger. There are sooo many thing you can use your starter for tho outside of bread!
I just discovered your videos and loving it. I am gluten free and dairy free, but I really miss so it’s getting hard to stay away from it. What kind of cheese do you use? Thank you
Yay welcome!! :) We mainly eat the raw cheddar from azure standard, we get a huge block of it every month haha www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/cheese/cheddar/classic-white/traditional-white-cheddar-cheese-loaf-raw-organic-random-weight/11347?package=CH221&a_aid=5babecbaee
I don't typically discard sine my jar is pretty big, I'll just feed whatever is in there. But if I do end up with a surplus I'll usually feed the extra to our chickens or make something that doesn't really need to rise like crackers or crepes!

Love the idea of freezing a bunch of crusts!! I need to do this. And omg sourdough waffles YUM I've been dying to get a waffle maker!!
If I am modifying a current GF recipe that uses yeast. How much started do I add in replacement of the 7g of dry yeast
Which model stand mixer do you use?
Hi! Hopefully you see this, but just wondering what wheat berries you used for your sandwich bread? Looks amazing! 🙌

Great video as always Becca! I have the clever carrot book , sourdough made simple and basically I call my sourdough Bible, highly recommended
Yes I've heard such great things about her book!! Glad you are loving it!
I'd love to see a cinnamon roll recipe from you! I'm just starting my sourdough journey so I'm thankful for the recipes you linked 🙂
Oh cinnamon rolls are so yummy!! I do love the recipe on farmhouse on boone's blog - I would def try hers out, so good!

Aw thank you!! So glad you tried the bread :) and great idea!!
Love this thanks so much! I’m just starting my sourdough journey so this video was perfect! Cant wait to make the skillet recipe❤
Aw yay!!! Welcome to the sourdough life! :)
I may have missed it, but do you not have any “discard” when you go to feed it?

What if mold gets on the sides of the jar?
I didnt see you do any stretch and folds when making your bread! is this something your don't have to do?

Are the grain mills made in the US?

@@BeccaBristow thank you
Love this! Please more sourdough videos!
The website says "designed and assembled in the USA" hope that helps!
Could you use almond flour, brown rice flour or a gluten free flour?
Yes you can make a GF starter! I haven't tried this myself, but you can find stuff on blogs/YT about them!
@@BeccaBristow thanks
Wonderful 🧡
Since you use it so frequently do you never discard?
