"Inception" came out just a few months before this, and between these two Leo movies it felt like everyone went for it over "Shutter Island". Not knocking "Inception", but I think this was the better of the two. So glad you've watched it.
Wait what?! For some reason I always thought that Inception was a much newer/recent movie than shutter island. Shutter Island has that older-movie vibe to it (in a good way). Can't believe they came out in the same year
Shutter Island was released before Inception in February... Inception was a summer blockbuster starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Subject matter aside, its not exactly surprising one was "bigger" than the other.
Shutter Island came out in 2010, Gangs of New York is the one from 2002 and it is awesome, if it is one of the ones you haven't seen yet, check it out. Also, highly recommend Bruce Lee's Warrior and Tokyo Vice
3:15 The part where the doctor describes what "Rachel" did and says _"She insisted the children weren't dead"_ then they show her photograph with that delusional dead far away stare in her eyes always sends chills down my spine
Can we please have subtitles enabled if the sound discrepancy between you and the movie is gonna be so large? I know a lot of people would greatly appreciate it.
Great movie the first time you watch it Phenomenal movie the second time you watch it One of the greatest twists ive ever seen and its so well planted!
Jimmy, I can totally understand if you don't wanna do it, but I would give anything to watch your second viewing of this movie as a commentary. It's a completely different experience and it would be awesome to watch that.. But anyway.. Just happy you watched this movie! It's amazing.. :D
One of my favorite movies and so satisfying to rewatch and see what you missed when you know the ending. Went in thinking it’s a psychological thriller about a corrupt mental asylum, did not expect the tragic story I got but I loved it.
Wow... I forgot how eerie and tragic the heavy atmosphere was in this movie... the nightmares, the colors, the sad violin music "On the Nature of Daylight".... That's it, I'm watching it again!
Andrew pretending like he's still in his psychotic loop just to drop that hint that he's not and probably just wants to be lobotomized just to forget. "Is it better to live as a monster, or die a good man?"
This is adapted from a book by Dennis Lehane. Other movies adapted from his work are: Mystic River, The Drop, and Gone Baby Gone. They're all great and worth the watch.
Just watched Lucky Number Slevin you say? Spoilers. Also you're not reading too much into this, his final words are pretty much a confirmation that he didn't regress again.
If you're going to watch The Color of Money, you need to first check out 1961's The Hustler starring Paul Newman as Scorsese's film is actually a sequel.
You must have kids, or want them some day. That struggled breath-in tells,...when the reveal is shown. Brutal. Amazing movie. I struggle with the emotions everytime I see that scene.

Scorsese over Nolan any day of the week. Blood pumps in the veins of a Scorsese movie, rather than grey tint and inaudible dialogue.
I love Inception, but Shutter Island is the only one between the two that is in my top films
I think that too.
Inception was way more convoluted and didn't appeal to me at all.
This is in my top 5 movies of all time.
Should have put leo's question to mark ruffalo at the end, it is quite important to understand the conclusion of the character
This movie blew me away in theaters. I can't believe I bought everything Leo was seeing and hearing. What a brilliant betrayal of narration!
Even Scorsese's "I make this look easy" films are amazing and entertaining as hell haha

I read the book before the movie came out and the book absolutely lived up to the book. It's one of my favorite Leo movies.

A well-earned twist ending is a great cinematic snack. And being a grounded twist rather than something fanciful makes it hit even harder.

I love a good mindfuck and Shutter Island definitely delivers.
I’d watch a second go of this one from you
Oh man jimmy should love this. Leo so good as always. Love this movie! Let’s go!
If Scorsese is your favourite living director with ease, who's your favourite of all time?
I can’t believe you haven’t seen this! 💜
Just watched Lucky Number Slevin you say? Spoilers.

A good comparison would be “The 6th Sense”. You want to watch it again to see all those little details you missed.
Leo made two movies in 2010. In both of them he's being haunted by his dead wife.
If you're going to watch The Color of Money, you need to first check out 1961's The Hustler starring Paul Newman as Scorsese's film is actually a sequel.
Shutter Island = Shot her island
Shutter Island also spells "Truth and lies"
Love that ending
Is that Julianne Moore? 😂
Love your channel dude 🤘
You got lucky number slevin on here. Welp I know what I’m watching after this. Nobody reacts to that!
You must have kids, or want them some day. That struggled breath-in tells,...when the reveal is shown. Brutal. Amazing movie.

This movie but I hate that last line. Should’ve left us wondering
Jimmy when are you dropping that Only Fans?
Soon, brother.
@@JimmyMacram Ascension will suffice for now.
this is not from 2002
