If your unable to boot from your "cloned" drive: -create windows installation media via usb drive -boot from the usb drive -go to troubleshoot > advanced options > command prompt -run "bcdboot c:\windows" (assuming your cloned drive is your c: drive) This will create the boot files necessary to boot up windows from your cloned drive. ...your welcome....glad it works👍🏾
This is the best Clonezilla guide, even after years I first saw this tutorial. Every single time I use clonezilla for cloning/restore I come to this video for when things don't work as intended
youtube disabled my comments and when they gave them back to me, wiped out all of them and didn't notify me of these new comments. with that being said, I'm just now seeing your comment. thank you so much for the kind words. I hope you have an amazing week.
Hi even though this video is 10 years old I will defnitely try it to backup my pc. However I have some doubts: Is image file compressed? if so, like how much will be the image size for 150gb system files? And can I backup the image file on the same hardisk itself which has only one partition ie. C: driver only
Great tutorial. I’m just really curious about one thing, how did you record this? This clearly wasn’t a VM that you did this demonstration on so I’m wondering how you captured all the boot process unless you were using a camera?? Which, it doesn’t seem like because the footage quality is so good both in terms of the trueness to shape of the actual screen’s image (if that makes sense..?) and lack of screen rate flicker or the usual types of distortions that can result in literally recording a screen with a camera. I feel pretty ignorant right now because that’s the one aspect of this video that I’m totally baffled by. Edit: wait, it’s just a capture card hooked up to the pc’s external monitor port, right?
youtube disabled my comments and when they gave them back to me, wiped out all of them and didn't notify me of these new comments. Yes, I used an elgato capture card with my laptop closed and forcing it to display out over HDMI.
@@wwjoshdew ah, that makes sense, thanks. I’m glad to hear that your ability to comment was restored although, I must say, I find it a little disturbing to hear that it was removed in the first place. I didn’t even know that was something that UA-cam did; that’s actually quite dystopian.
@@Deebomc yeah. so I have videos when my daughter was really little. and youtube disabled comments on EVERY SINGLE channel that had videos of minors. It was finally restored a year ago.
If you get Read Only error for Windows: Admin in terminal (cmd): powercfg -h off Go to the Windows 10 settings and look for the "Sign-in options" - Scroll down to bottom change the checkbox to off on "Use my sign-in info to automatically finish setting up my device and reopen my apps after an update or restart." Now clonezilla will work.
You upload this video 9 years ago but still helps me a lot when I want to backup my Linux OS. Can't say any words other than thank you!
Glad to know it still works. Thanks for the awesome comment.
Haven't used this program in so many years, thanks for the refresher :)
Glad it helped!

Great video! Keeping it simple. I appreciate that.
Well done no nonsense & easy to follow.
thank you for the kind words.
Tysm! I didn’t know how to use clonezilla but now I know how!
Can clonezilla restore from a DVD? I've used clonezilla but my old version does not seem to see the DVD storage in the drive.

Yes, probably, a capture card.
