The whole 'drug addicted' parents scenario - both the words used and the tone in which it was told was really offensive and ironically lacking in compassion!
I am enjoying this talk, but i do have to say, i think hes a little premature in saying what other animals are capable of...from the time i was a child to now, barrier after barrier has been broken with animals in the wild and in the lab...there is still a certain level of egocentric values that's found in the sciences...lets not be too hasty in judgment...
