Do I need any background/degree to go for functional/technical side of SAP ? If I have no degree can I go for sales(as an exemple) and learn the modules used for sales departament learn the task used and go for the job ? Or the background is a must on any technical/functional side of SAP ? As I am a fast learner using any program and for me won't take long to learn the program itself but without the background is any category I can learn ?

I have 4.2 yrs of an experience in SAP HR as a end-user in one of the PSU company in India. I want to shift my domain to IT Industry as a SAP HR Consultant. Can you suggest me for my career.
i was a PP end user who turned into PP consultant. 1. You can try to apply to (end user) companies who are looking to fill up the SAP HR consultant/business analyst roles (some end user companies like unilever or etc. have an internal IT/IM department where SAP expertise are needed). Try to market yourself as a learner, someone who is interested in the role, and has end user experience with the software. You can also push for higher salary this way. Google 'salary benchmark year 2021/2022 Hays recruitment', for example, to get an idea how much you wanna demand in your salary. As for consulting firms, normally consulting firms look for people with consulting experience, so that's why I recommend to enter the end user company as a business analyst with consulting role (or an SAP consultant title if that's what they advertise), get your consulting experience from there, before jumping into a consulting firm. 2. When you have experience as a consultant in end user companies, you can command an even higher salary when you jump into a consulting firm. If you just directly enter consulting firms, sometimes they put your salary and position which is lower than your current one, because they claim you dont have any consulting experience. Hope it helps.
