The Neewer Dtap to dummy battery works on the Z8 there is 20% off on Amazon right now for it in the USA amzn.to/467DBaN or a lightning deal on it in the UK for the next 10hrs. You can also get int on the Neewer website and 21% off with Code HAYES21. Smallrig also make one that works with the Z8 apparently but I haven't tried that one yet. Thanks for watching and for the feedback, I have another video coming up in the next week or two on cooling the Z8 you might find very interesting.
Got the Neewer cage after I saw your recommendation. It's not a good cage, in my opinion. Sure. It's cheaper, has two rails and comes with the clamp. The anti-twist features are useless and the clamp is not a very good. I notice you don't even bother with the anti-twist brackets. Smallrig's designs are well worth the cost in my opinion. The more contact points and material should help dissipate heat better.
Hi Jesse, sorry to hear you are not happy with the cage. I have never had an issue with the camera twisting in the cage and that's why I usually don't use the additional anti twist pins as I have found once the camera is tightened in place properly there is no give or wiggle, I also use an L Bracket with the Z8 so I tend to swap it in and out a bit, so I generally don't use the additional anti twist points. As I mentioned I also have two Smallrig cages here and found no advantage in them personally, I will pass your comments onto Neewer though.
Friend, I have a cool video topic for you, did you know that if you start recording in prores on the z8 and the battery runs out and the camera turns off, unlike codecs 254, 265, the camera will not save the prores file? It turns out that this is a feature of the prores codec, but I wonder how N raw will behave in such a situation?
That's a very good question, I must try that over the weekend, nothing worse than losing material. It's things like that keep me changing batteries regulalry even though I generally use USB PD to help the battery last longer. Thanks for that I must check it out.
Hey Leon, yes it went up completely by accident on Sunday. Me being an idiot I got my dates wrong. I then took it down and scheduled it for Monday. When it went on Monday it said it had been posted for 24hrs and had only 6 views. So I thought damn it now I have to re-upload it and start all over again, which brings us to your dega vu experience 😂
Hi, you have a few different options here. You can buy the VND filter I mentioned in the video, I have a full review in the video description. You can get the Neewer ND filters like the ones I have mentioned in the description or better still get the Formatt Hitech ultra cinema filters, they are used on high block buster movies like Dune, Batman and loads more. They really are some of the best filters you can buy. I have a 10% off Formatt Hitech discou t code in the description also. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask them.
Another great and super helpful video. You always explain things so well. Thanks for that.
Thank you so very much 👍👍👍

Thanks a lot and glad you found it helpful, I appreciate the feedback.
Your videos helped a lot to figure out overheating problems. Do you have any recommendations for d tap dummy batteries?

@@kieranhayesphotography Blame it on the Jameson.
Sadly it was more the stupidity and me rushing as per usual.
I need longer days 😂
Pls suggest good nd filters for Z8 (even if they are high priced)
