  • Walleye is our target species on the pond, and we finally caught some to see how big they're getting. Underwater camera views of how ice fishing jigs work and how bluegill, perch and walleye react to jig fishing.

Something about underwater views that’s so enjoyable. Can’t wait to see your homemade structure holding fish. I went ahead and used two of your techniques and added to my pond. So much cheaper and more enjoyable to build.

I know right? I’m fascinated by the underwater views. There’s a whole different ecosystem under there and helps me visualize. We just see the water surface from above….but the mysteries of what’s under there is what I find so intriguing. Sonar and the livescope show a different picture….but the actual cideo footage is way more helpful to me. How fish relate to the different habitat….natural and artificial. How they react to different baits and jigging techniques. How vegetation grows and dies in different seasons and how that sets off a chain reaction. Maybe that’s an idea for a series of videos. Lots to learn, and seeing the video is helpful to me. Glad you find it interesting as well.
The fish do hang out on the structures. I need to get some better video of it though. My last setup in this video when it was so dark…the camera was directly inside the limbs of a pvc tree. The perch, walleye and sunfish were active in there. Just hard to see in the dark, and because if the camera angle. The camera view didn’t show it, but my cord was dangling in the plastic limbs.

Looks like a good day of fishing. I hope I can manage to catch a walleye or two this year. Can't wait to go fishing again.

I greatly appreciate your videos, you are the one that made me a believer on tj's Polymer pond leak repair (seek leak) ive got it waiting in dry storage for the spring warming up the water and water temps getting above 50°. Ill be doing the "waterborne method "on mine and a dry seal on my friends pond. Thanks so much for your leak repair videos, keep em coming:)

My pleasure. They’re fun to make, and I love every part of the pond process. Well, maybe not the leak part….but it’s been an interesting learning experience, and I’m glad it has been helpful for you. I’m eager to hear how your polymer progress turns out. We have held steady over the winter by pumping a slow trickle of water in from the well. I will continue to try and locate the remaining little bit of leak we have remaining and apply seekleak as necessary. We’ve been so happy with the initial success we’ve seen. I hope you see similar results. Let me know if I can be of any assistance in your strategizing. TJs been a great partner for me in our project! Thanks for watching. I’ll continue to share our project. 😀
