Lighter fluid is used by many. I found that orderless mineral spirits is the main ingrediant in L&R 566. You may want to give it a try. Also, be careful with the isopropyl alcohol because it can melt the shellac that holds in the escapement and roller jewels. A short dip of less than a minute feels like a safe time. I use isopropyl like that and all has been OK so far.
Thanks alot! Very cool, the 8200 movement was the one which I started repairing in series! In fact this months video will be about a Miyota 8200 so stay tuned!
@@Berlintime030 AWESOME!! Look forward in seeing that video! I been contemplating on doing a customizing watch channel. Got a few omega pocket watches that I would like to convert into a watch. Im into customizing cars for years. And just got into watchmaking recently cause it similar to working on vehicles. Like that, with the right size movement can be placed into another watch body or customize the hands and dials. I also have a few 3d printers, laser engraver, and vinyl cutter to help with it all. Still trying to buy all the tools i need to tear and clean up parts. Lol
@@Lovenpain Sounds like some cool ideas you have there! Im sure you can whip something up ;). If you need any help, questions or advise, feel free to write my on the Channel Email :)
