It is always stunning to see massed bands marching and playing beautiful marches, and "Beating Retreat 2024" has been wonderful, interesting and also emotional. All the members involved have made a very brilliant performance❤ Thanks to you for sharing the video, well done!! Good night.

Great to be able to see this filmed from the angles that most are unable to, it gives the viewer another perspective and is beautifully clear, both for audio and visual. Thank you for sharing👍

Loved to hear the Eagle Squadron March. We had an old friend in our small E. Oregon, USA, community who was in the Eagle Squadron. He was quite a guy.

Youre all amazing you are simply fantastic. But how the heck do you manage to march & keep in a straight line? Plus read music. My brother was in the Irish Gaurds my ex hubby was in the Royal Engineers my nephews 1 in the Royal Air Force my 2nd in the Royal Marines. Big military fan

I'm a former marching band person myself, and I can guarantee that these guys rely on their peripheral vision to look at the band members next to them in order to stay in line. They also do the same for looking at the band members in front of them. As for music, they usually try to memorize a decent amount of each piece so that they are able to focus on marching while they are playing - the music is there in case they get lost or if get to a section they haven't memorized.

Eagle squadron was composed in honour of the three raf squadrons piloted by US citizens prior to the entrance of the USA into ww2, the successors live on as the USAF 4th operations group at Seymour Johnson

@@clivehughes2179 Great indeed. Eagle Squadron is played quite often especially by RAF Bands. Grandioso is frequently played at US Ceremonies. Good to hear it over here at a slightly faster pace. Vedette should be played more often.
