I just found you about two days ago. Already saw all your videos. You have a fun and effective way of doing asmr. Glad I found your videos. You have a fun personality. Like the life of the group friend. Cool collection too!
Cool! I love the jawbones as well, I’ve a lovely badger skull and they’ve got these super wide zygomatic bones that you can slot the mandibles back in to, creating quite a complex series of shapes. Haven’t commented on a video in years but this one spoke to me somehow lmao, keep it up!
I have no idea how this popped up in my suggestions, as I'm not really an ASMR fan, but let me just say I hope my daughter turns out to be half as interesting as you seem to be. Keep up the good work.
You have everything required to make it on this platform just keep at it do what you love and the big thing is give it time will can be a big name if you choose good luck:)
That's a very sweet bone collection, I especially like the jawbones you have. It's nice that these animals can still be appreciated after they've died, so thank you for sharing. I'll be looking forward to the next videos you have planned!
The first one was most likely sticking out of the ground in that manner because of a coyote holding it between its paws and eating off it. Like the video, cool content!
lol My 17 year old son just found an animal leg bone in the woods near his grandparents' house a few days ago. I was kind of afraid to let him bring it home. Seeing that you cleaned yours, is it necessary to make sure that it's cleaned if he's going to keep it? I just never thought about anyone collecting bones until he decided that he wanted to & now this video. Great timing. 🙂
I always handle my bones with gloves until they are clean because I tend to find lots of little bugs living in/ cleaning meat from the bones. I soak my bones in a bin with a hydrogen peroxide and water mixture. I try to have at least 1/3 peroxide but I don’t measure anything. I soak the bone for 2-5 days depending on how dirty it looks and then I use paper towels, an old toothbrush, and q tips to scrub the bone until it’s clean. I know another popular method is to use hair bleach, but I personally have never done that. You’d also notice that the bone may look a little dark or translucent when cleaning but when it dries it’ll be much whiter. I hope this helps! There’s lots of resources on Google and there are places that you can take skulls to for cleaning that would maybe be helpful if you didn’t want to do it yourself.
Hm, thats a unique thing to collect. I have a squirrel skull that I found in my back yard. Kept it, because I hadnt ever seen one before, and thought it was interesting. Should still be by my garden.....somewhere. Also have a carapace of a horseshoe crab, that me and my brother put into a whole framed thingy we made. Its an exoskeleton, so I'm counting it as animal bones for the purpose of this comment. 🧐 Edit: Just remembered I found a pretty large bone of something in my woods years ago. Never worked out what it was. Not familiar enough with bone anatomy to know what part of the body it would have come from. Was big enough that it could have been a deer.
This video is so fascinating. Collecting and learning about the bones when they’d otherwise be buried and forgotten seems like such a kind way of an animal being remembered when they wouldn’t have been. That probably makes zero sense, sorry.
The lower jaw bones are called the manibles. The hip bones are called the innominate and what you called the tail bone is the sacrum. The sacrum is what you sit on and are between the innomites. The femur is the upper leg bone. The femural head, the round part, connects into the acetabulum, the socket in the innomeinate. I have a large bone collection of cows, deer, dogs, raccoons and turtles. Us bone people are weird but that's because we're cooler than everyone us.
Thank you! I knew the jaw bones were called mandibles but I didn’t know the other ones! I’ll be taking a college anatomy course in the fall so I’ll probably learn a lot more then!
@@attimoth Also, you didn't break the innominate they're 2 separate bones (paired bones) that disarticulated. I never took a human anatomy course, but I did take a human skeletal anatomy course and that was rough. I don’t envy you. I’m an archaeologist and the subfield I focus on is called zooarchaeology which is the recovery and identification of animal bones from archaeological sites. This includes prehistoric Native American sites or historic period sites and the bones we found might be the remains of food people ate or bone tools.
@@westclovis woah that is awesome!! I’m an Art major so the anatomy I’m taking is definitely way less complex that what you took because mine is anatomy for artists. That’s an incredible field to be in!
@@attimoth The collection that I have consists of almost complete skeletons for my comparative collection and I pick up random bones here and there. About a year ago, I started painting the random bones to relieve stress. I started with antler fragments and then moved onto more complex bones. While doing that it's become a reminder of the anatomical landmarks of bones and I've gotten better at painting and this is coming from a guy with no artistic talent. I thought about making a social media page for my art but I'm sure if I want to do that (I quit all social media except UA-cam due to mental health issues).

any human bones ☠ ?
Could you make video with shhh sounds and covering viewer's mouth?
0:27 BLINK!
Do you believe in eating bones?
I've heard that ground up chicken bones can cure arthritis. I'm not sure how much truth is in it tho.
If we can see your bones, and many of them are in a box, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
