@gratzziella We are so glad you love the costume and that's so cool your going to make it for a photoshoot! We got the feathers from Micheal's which is craft store and I think we even saw some white ones at Wal-Mart. The fabric is a kind of stretchy cotton material, but the glue will even stick to a shiny material (as it did for our black swan costume). Let us know if you have anymore questions!
Ballerina costumes arent always all one piece! They have the leotard and the tutu is separate so you can dye it to a different colour for a new dance! Great costume though, its beautiful
Fashion District! Lots of places. King Textiles is one... walk west on Queen at Queen and Spadina and you'll find lots of fabric stores.
Mostly hot glue! Tacky spray was for glitter in most instances. Fabric glue works too though!
@gratzziella you could try watering down some white craft glue and spraying it on. that's the only alternative I can think of, best of luck!
aw thank you! you may be able to use just plain white glue but it might take a while to dry. it's worth a try!

@MalteseLizzieMcGee That's what we strive for! We will have lots of more costume tutorials for Halloween 2012 but we are still looking to DIY crafts now, let us know if you have any ideas (Necklace tree coming up soon) :)
@ChristianaVerite We bought it at Malabar's, a costume shop in Toronto. You should be able to find some at any halloween store or dance supply shop though :)
I just watched the Black Swan tutorial. both of these tutorials were really good: the steps are clearly explained, and I think that watching this would make people who have never sewn or done crafts really want to create their own costumes.

Hi Girls! Thank you so much for these videos. We are working on our costumes but we aren't sure what to wear under our tutus, because they are SO short! What did you wear for bottoms besides tights? Ours are also two pieces so it doesn't have underwear attached.

Corsets aren't in season right now, so there going to be hard to find. I would try Mandee, forever21, Charlotte Russe, stores like that..wet seal ect..

one thing though, not liking the pointe shoes ideas unless you really know what you're doing in them. my advice would be get a ballet flats instead pointe shoes.

You can get a hot glue gun for like 2 dollars at Micheals. Just get one there. They're cheap, but they work fine and last a surprisingly long time.
