'I woke up and tried to check the copyright' 😭
that was funny
genuinely i made that scenario up in my head i did not know that this actually happened to him before
Highkey the best meme of the video
Fr lmao
© GOD
Bro explained more in this video than every geoguessr explained video
Zi8gzag when he finally touches grass: *What camera gen is this? That's definitely Australian grass, I'm getting some real Sydney vibes*
lol 😆 but Adelaide
@@werdwerdusIt being the wrong city just adds to it
7:05 i once played geoguessr an entire day bc i was off from work and when i went outside at night to see a friend and car drove by i got all excited bc the plate wasnt blurred and i was “gonna be able to regionguess germany”
You escaped the matrix
You mean you were drunk and had a hangover so decided to take the day off 🤣
@@Archivus23 no the event i was supposed to work for got cancelled short term. I dont really get hungover😅
Lol
Regarding the Naruto meme:
I think japanese animation studios often outsource parts of their animation process to other countries xD (stuff like coloring, backgrounds, in-between animations, and other minor details)
and I think this pole style very clearly shows where this specific episode was outsourced to!
very nice clue and piece of knowledge
7:47 It's Brasilia, signs for the embassies
When you spot a promising signage from a distance, and u suddenly ended up in an earlier camera generation when the sign doesn't exist 😭
Or you're in what I call "gen zero" (notoriously common in US) and you can't read a sign right in front of you then it goes to Gen 4 immediately after passing by.
Teue
its funny when you watch movies / tv shows and its set in a specific country you find yourself checking the metas to make sure it all checks out ahaha
Yeah I am doing it too haha🤣
we got geoguessr memes before gta 6 💀
people always forget that urban japan has diagonally striped poles quite often
Sometimes I think "wtf is this?!" when I watch random UA-cam videos and none of the number plates are blurry. 😅😂
8:38 Geohints actually has a couple of examples of poles with a spiral reflector. I wonder if it's the case that Japan used to use spiral ones decades ago and then the standard changed, just that this almost never shows up on Street View.
5:49 I literally died laughing with the imitation of the Geowizard-zoom 😂😂
Conclusion: This meme is very funny.
Rainbolt made a captcha Geoguesser video on his main channel a couple of weeks ago
(9:16) and when they want to use signature and such to appeal to an international audience, they often default to USA instead of the actual international audience.
Love the Its Danmark A/S truck lmao
I love the over analysis of these memes. give me more!
(4:28) Tiny detail, but I really like that you said "kilometre" correctly like how it should be pronounced.
The liscense plate of my Non-European country is mainly white, so I purposefully taped a blue duct tape strip to the side of it.
Love these kind of vids, it's something different than usual and definitely as entertaining
bro i can't believe your about to hit 100k, i've been here for ages, shorts have really helped your growth :)
Is this the first ever geoguessr meme review video?
5:39 first time i hear someone pronounce BenQ like this ahah
"Bænk" monitor
You get so many polish lorries on the M25 in England and I don't know why
100k has never been closer, you deserve it
I think one of the craziest misplaced trucks I've ever seen was a .uk truck url up near murmansk, still got russia but was crazy to think about.
the production quality your doing is cool
That naruto japanese pole one is really interesting, I have a story about it.
Around the time I started getting in to geoguessr, i was watching Monogatari (Bake i think?) with a friend and saw the "taiwanese" pole stripes. I had to pause the show to show my friend that they use vertical stripes in japan, but I clicked in the city in Nagoya and the pole right there in japan had DIAGONAL stripes. It was a little awkward.
Anyway, diagonal stripes do exist in Japan, at least in Nagoya. They don't go around the entire pole iirc, but from some angles you can't tell that. The stripes are also much thinner than Taiwanese ones.
7:45 thats the embassies region in brasilia
I'm pretty sure that the Paraguai, Austria and Espanha sign is in Brasilia, the Brazilian capital. I live here, and you can see embassy signs everywhere around the city lol. I even visited the embassy of Angola once. So you hit the nail on the head when you gussed it. Impressive.
congrats on 100k!
Remembers me when watching checkered ninja 2, the movie is mainly set in thailand and in a scene you see a car, the car had the european blue stripe on license plate, annoyed me soo much
the future goat with another w vid
2:53 so relatable lmaoo
2:25 hm quite a few of the things I now recognize from just watching your channel 😂
the thumbnail has already traumatized me when playing geoguessr
As Bulgarian I'm confused how that's seen 0:59 I mean we got red when the plate is temporary but still don't think it's like this one here
Hey zig, regarding your 25k moving practice vid the other day with GC: I'm sure it's beneficial to practice the skill in methods such as that, but I don't think nailing the precise 5k is worthwhile in a tournament context - the main thing is getting the information quickly; and after that, plonking a rough and speedy 4990/4950 etc. in the correct town/region is much more advantageous than spending a bunch of seconds more lining it up exactly merely for a few extra points. There were a number of occasions in the last EMEA tournament where a player would have knocked their opponent out if they had just plonked as soon as they found the information which gave them the general location, but instead they took an extra 10-20 seconds lining up roads etc. which ended up being enough extra time to also give their opponent the time to find the information, whereas until that point they had been completely clueless and would have been destroyed.
There are no big bonus points in the tournament for a 5k as opposed to a 4990 other than showing off, so it's really a case of perfect being the enemy of plenty good enough. The only occasion when a player can bother to land the precise 5k is if the timer is already running down from 15seconds so they know their faffing around isn't also pointlessly giving their opponent extra time.
Keep the moving vids coming though - they're enjoyable.
Man literally made a video about explaining the joke ☠
Poor Tom, he's not bad, and improving! lol, I get ya though.
I've seen diagonal stripes on poles in Hokkaido before but those def look Taiwanese
Lmao the thumbnail is so relatable
I once got that one road with the white-ish dirt in the north west of botsuana and everybody thought I was crazy.
I do think some standard geography is useful too. If I had a dollar for every time I've figured out what eastern European country I was in, only to struggle to find said country on the map...
I wonder if anyone ever has the moment they get a coverage where they know it's common in a certain country in a certain region but it's actually a completely different country altogether
10:45 from the website they appear to be a shipping/logistics company.
5:16 great transition. I don’t know how to do it on Adobe Premiere Pro
looks like standard davinci resolve transition. I think even the free version has this. ;)
@@stilllbornn thanks, all of the others are on premiere
the naruto one is so relateable, many anime do this mistake xD
Any idea why this is a common mistake?
@@Licw-Luxus idk, maybe somebody trolling there (:
@@Licw-Luxus I can only guess, but studios like that have many artists - maybe some of them were Taiwanese? It's a similar thing in the game Arma 2, if I recall correctly, where the bollards (road markers) are Czech like the developer, while the ingame map is supposed to be Russia.
This is hilarious lol
Zi8gzag is also guessing memes man...😮🤣
lmaoooo bro woke up to check the copyright 💀💀
(10:40) Also it's not saying "Denmark" but "Danmark", which is the Danish name. So definitely ITS Danmark A/S
in my biology book there was a picture of a lake and it said "Something-Lake in Hungary, however the picture was taken quite close to the road where you could clearly see czechoslovak bollards
To the naruto one: I saw similar tapes in the geotips guide, never saw them ingame tho
10:24 there is a location with a Polish truck in Senegal
Imma put out my Seychelles flag out there for the noobs to be confused because all the American flags
7:42 it is brazil, and it is brasilia, capital, I've been in that place
So, what were the copyrights on the ceiling? 2024?
12:19 this has happned to me a lot in 2v2 duels
You can find a type of striped pole reflector in a few areas of Japan. But it will never touch the ground. Unlike Taiwan where it always does
As a Kiwi, I approve of your plan to fly the NZ flag on your home 😁
I've done the one in 12:20 back when I was new-ish. Not quite Afghanistan for France, since being a viewer primarily I knew where coverage was, but I was a really bad player that eliminated some poor guy on USVI because the depths of my brain went "Wait, I know this red car".
Not long after I correctly identified Guam, but couldn't find it on the map, because I didn't go far enough west.
I feel like the meme is referring to Midway Island, when competitive was still on the official World map.
8:16 czech republic mentioned
hearing new zealand made me happy
Alternate title: Nerd explains the joke
tbf there are jobs for pro geoguessrs, I heard Homeland Sec, CIA and FBI are hiring
I'm a newbie only been playing for a few weeks and some of these hit hard. The other day I was in a South American City maybe La Paz and the street names were other countries. I now know Calle means street :( Nothing is worse then hunting for a domain name and not knowing the country of the domain name either...
GeoGuessr Memes Explained
00:39 Yeah, Poles indeed are talkative and can tell ya what is the country you are in
Nice strategy fr
I have a great video idea, what if you made a video similar to the classic Ludwigs video when Geowizard was trying to guess the country by Ludwig explaining what he sees, you could ask some of your Irl friends to be the explainers or maybe someone like rainbolt or whichever pro, but in the case of a pro player explaining there should be a rule for them not to tell you a clue that they know gives away the country so you have to ask the right questions. At the end if you maybe do the friend and the pro version you could compare the 2 and see which person got you the most correct guesses. I think this is a solid video idea and hope it helps. You could also shout me out for the idea ;) if you end up making the video.
Awesome 😂
on the naruto one: taiwan used to be occupied by japan until 1945, (apparently some people, esp. elderly people still speak japanese). maybe the poles are old-style japanese poles and when japan updated theirs taiwan kept them? idk this for sure, it's a guess from things a taiwanese friend has told me about their history (and wikipedia)
whys it edited like this
why does bro put R in every syllable 😭
BULGARIA MENTIONED RAHHH
I wonder if any saw my dad since he was in bulgarian street view at one point
1:18 lmao
3:00 unless you're rainbolt or geowizard, who I'm pretty sure are actual CIA agents.
this is so similar to hikaru reading memes hahahah
I feel like Google could just screw geoguessr over completely by putting the country flag on the car
There's also an ARRÊT stop sign. "arrêt" is simply French for "stop," though I've rarely encountered them and I've now forgotten in which French-speaking country/s I found the arrêt
Definitely not in Africa, though. I haven't seen stop signs in Africa yet
Didn’t rainbolt just do a video about finding captcha images
He did ye
Ooo memes yesss
7:57 forgot to edit? :D
I saw a Kazakhstan truck the other day in the Netherlands. Not sure who would go Kazakhstan on a NL round though.
Also, wonder what was in the truck.
ZIGZAG I SWEAR ON MY LIFE I HEARD YOU ON THE AUSTRALIA RADIO YESTERDAY IN MY CAR THEY TALKED ABOUT YOU
you would be right
OMG YOU ACTUALLY RESPONDED
YOU MADE MY DAY
It's not geowizard zoom, it's forehead cam
4:32 just plunk central MS

Wait you said it's pretty niche I can understand that even at my low level I may have skills the average Joe doesn't but is it really that niche?

im gonne give you an turkiye information
Municipality names are written on the garbage cans you can look at them and guess where it is in turkiye good luck
No, poles in china don’t look like the ones in Japan 8:52

geoguessr knowladge is really good for just as a conversation topic or as a flex though. sadly i broke up with my gf before i started playing geogessr (and she did not agree to play a game with me after like a month of no contact) so i don't know the efficacy of it on women but the bro's deffo think it's cool when i know what ex yugoslav country it is. also the bro's are hotter anyway.
0:51 not cringe at all, seriously f*ck everyone who doesn't hyperfixate. Calling Meg "Louis" on the other hand... 💀
