  • The Taliban readied its forces on outskirts of the Afghan capital from all sides on Sunday as panicked civilians prepared for the armed group’s takeover of Kabul nearly 20 years after relinquishing power in an American-led assault.
    Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen said fighters were remaining on the capital’s outskirts as negotiations took place.

      @ape kaspank Not true, in the first part of their operation they destroyed all the roads linking kabul to the other major cities. The US airbase that supplies these regions was taken off line and the afghan government had to scramble for a way to reinforce these areas cutt off from control. They tried sending troops who instantly got routed and retreated, once they retreated the rest of the country was sitting ducks with no way to fight the taliban. And were forced to surrender.
      Kandahaar didn't even have a garrison of over 5,000. ANA needed time to regroup themselves and taliban wasn't letting that happen. Rapid light-speed advances for days on end, im sure taliban units haven't sleep in weeks they've been on the move for so long.

      Not really because america gave the afghan people freedom and liberated afghanistan for the last twenty years to be fair, it is not their fault because the withdrawal of american military was in preparation since trumps administration.
      The main culprit is the afghan government who was corrupt and unable to unite its people, and unable to have a united central government and who were unable to defend their country after twenty years of american training and funding, afterall it is their country, they have to fight for it but they clearly failed, and showed no heart at all.

War is brutal and terrible, and should be fought with every resource and resolve or not at all. If WWII had been fought by the allies in this manner, the Axis would have won. Forget the media and public opinion, take the gloves off and do our soldiers a favor and lay waste to the enemy or don't fight at all.

The U.S destroyed the North Korean army and pushed all the way to the Chinese border, the Chinese not wanting a capitalist state on their borders pushed them back to the half way mark and thus the infamous DMZ was established. The North Korean army was absolutely decimated and humiliated, the U.S wasn’t anticipating a Chinese intervention hence the retreat. Learning facts is a powerful thing.

    • @MrSteveo114
      @MrSteveo114 3 роки тому

      @Mocro Lion have you ever read a history book? We’re talking about the Korean War here right? I’m not American nor British but even I know what happened there so I’ll quickly summarise it for you so that you don’t get it confused with propaganda in future,
      -North Korea invaded South Korea and nearly took it completely apart from a small piece of coastal land.
      -The U.S deployed a relatively small task force(remember this, it’s important) to push the North Koreans back over the 39th parallel.
      -The U.S operation was overseen by General Douglas MacArthur.
      -The objective was to push them back over the parallel, the U.S was successful in doing so, so much in fact that they kept pushing all the way to the Chinese border taking the North which wasn’t part of the initial plan.
      -The Chinese deployed thousands of troops and the U.S with a small force didn’t want to deploy thousands more to the region and risk initiating a war and retreated back to the 39th parallel, the Chinese tried and failed to push them further and thus the DMZ zone separating communist North Korea and capitalist South Korea came to be.
      So no the Chinese army wasn’t too powerful for the U.S nor it’s coalition which is irrelevant in this sense as the U.S’s allies weren’t even involved in the Korean War at least not in any meaningful military way, you’d know that if you read a history book, the U.S could of deployed full force but that would mean another war a decade after the ending of WW2 so you can understand why they nor anybody wanted that.
