So far this is my favorite soundtrack...something about the screeching violin that makes it eery and scary...but then the strings and piano give off this somber hope-that things are not as they seem. The guitar proves how both different and similar the world is. All while giving it that electronic music-from the synths accompanied by the screeching violin give it that chilling vibe and that rest-which sounds like distorted voices-gives off that urban vibe since the whole show is based in the city
Same it feels so bad ass and just has a certain feel to it
It just makes me sad, also thanks for helping write my music essay

This soundtrack is like emotions
The scene where this soundtrack really caught my attention was when Touka Kirishima and other ghouls opened their masks at the CCG office in convincing the investigators to work together alongside the ghouls, in the name of peace. Heartwarming scene that gave me chills.

I can't help but think what kind of life Yutaka-san leads that you can make such lonely, sad and beautiful pieces. Your music from Tokyo Ghoul inspired me to pick up violin. I'm still playing, and probably always will.

This soundtrack is the best I've ever listened to, helps me forget all the struggles in real life. Licht und schatten, on my own and Glassy sky are the most legendary soundtracks in the history and will remain my most favourite.

@@shadowpaws7348 as much as I am a TG Fan, I have no idea what you're talking about. The Anime was bad in Seasons 3 and 4, 2 was bad but it's not as bad as 3 and 4.
The soundtracks are good, except the animation, pacing, plot execution, explanations, development. Season 1 was where everything was great despite lacking some things from manga, the only things left good in the later seasons were the soundtrack and that was it.

Yet another of these tracks, that helped me through some rough times in my life, yet ironically make me wish these times would return, because back then everything was way better than it is now....

The violin & electro is the shadow (schatten) which fits since it's the background, while the strings & piano is the light (licht), the main notes. I believe if you try to separate those two into a new music, it will make one scary and another one hopeful theme.

Whenever I listen to this I;can imagine myself walking to my apartment in a big city at night while looking up at the starts and hearing cars pass by and seeing the city lights
This is literally the best music I have ever listened to.
To put the feelings of calmness relaxing chilling and also soft to the ear and make sure the music sounds gold. This is a real masterpiece.

I know this track for a long time now and there is just nothing comparable. There are alot of other tracks that try to give the same kind of atmosphere and vibe but they are not even close. At this point I just want to thank you for this gem of a track. It gives so much willpower and motivation.

One of the greatest works ever , one of it's kind, I don't think that any work can reach the greatness of Tokyo ghoul , I really wish if it didn't end, because in the end of the anime I knew that I'll never find anything can surpass it or even reach to it greatness and magnificence , now I feel really sad that I even watched it before other animes , really on the greatest animes in the history if not the greatest , and this song itself is a proof of that
If this anime ever gets a reboot (Which I highly doubt) I hope to God they at least keep this soundtrack. It's the only thing the anime got right.

Just rewatched tokyo ghoul after 4years. I have aged abit , now im 18 , i didnt really think much of it back then, but now i can say that its magnificient anime , sound tracks and the story made me feel like its the first time im watching anime...i didnt think i would expierence this feeling again

The Music Is very light like glass. It makes me forget about everything in life , especially bad things . It makes my head very relaxed i dont know why. Its also very nostalgic.
